Chapter 138 Sophie's Last Struggle
Thinking about this, Lily looked at Eric, "How long was I unconscious?"
"One day. You guys had the accident yesterday!"
"Then the Roberts family should have all seen that video by now!"
Lily wanted to ask Michael for the video evidence back!
Lily took out her phone and called Michael, but no one answered.
What's going on? Why isn't he picking up?
Unwilling to give up, she called again, and this time the call connected.
However, Sophie's voice came from the other end, "Hello, Lily, what do you want with Michael?"
"Why is his phone in your hands?" Lily asked suspiciously.
"It's all because what you said upset Michael so much that he fainted and was hospitalized yesterday. He still hasn't woken up yet," Sophie explained.
Hearing this, Lily said coldly, "Did that USB drive fall into your hands? Did you team up with the Harper family to steal the computer?"
"What USB drive and computer? I have no idea what you're talking about. I've got to go." Sophie hung up, a slight smirk crossing her face. Even if Lily figured it out now, it was useless.
The video had already been completely destroyed.
But when Sophie turned around, she saw that Michael had woken up.
Sophie was startled, her smile vanishing instantly. "Michael, when did you wake up?"
"When you denied knowing about the USB drive." Michael saw himself wearing a hospital gown and said coldly, "Where's the USB drive?"
"Michael, can't you just forgive me this once? When you fainted on the street, I was the one who saved you!" Sophie still refused to give up.
"Give me the USB drive, and I'll think about it."
"No, because then you'll definitely show it to David and the others, right?"
Michael's expression was cold. "If you think you're innocent, then why are you afraid of David and the others knowing?"
"Michael, my dad saved Lily's life. He died in the explosion when he went back to save your parents. You can't do this to me!"
"If it weren't for your father, you wouldn't have had the chance to come to the Roberts family at all. Give me the USB drive, do you hear me?"
Sophie knew that no matter how pitiful she acted, there was no way to change Michael's decision.
Her eyes caught sight of someone outside the hospital room, and she lowered her voice, "I already destroyed the USB drive."
Michael slapped Sophie across the face, "What gave you the right to do that!"
"Michael, I really didn't do anything to hurt Lily. Why won't you believe me!" Sophie suddenly began crying and protesting.
David happened to walk into the room at that moment. He saw Sophie covering her face. "Michael, why did you hit Sophie?"
"David, do you know what Sophie did? A few days ago, Lily almost got into trouble at a bar. She teamed up with Samantha, and she even drugged Lily!" Michael said in an unfriendly tone.
Sophie pitifully refuted, "David, I really didn't do these things."
"Sophie, do you dare deny it? You were at the bar too, and there are so many witnesses!" Michael questioned.
"I, I did go to the bar, but Lily offended Samantha and was forced by Ms. Harper to drink two glasses, that's all. There was no drugging or kidnapping!" Sophie lied.
Michael stared at Sophie in disbelief as she lied so effortlessly.
He never expected Sophie's acting skills to be this good!
David frowned, "Michael, how could Sophie possibly do something like that!"
"David, so you're saying our sister is lying?"
"Lily has lied so many times since childhood just to get our attention. You have no evidence at all!"
Michael showed a bitter smile, "Who says there's no evidence? Lily recovered the bar's surveillance footage. I saw it with my own eyes. How could it be fake?"
David was stunned, "Since you say there's surveillance video, where is it? Show me."
"After I fainted, Sophie took the USB drive."
"Michael, I didn't take any USB drive!" Sophie said with red-rimmed eyes and a bitter smile, "Since Michael insists it was me, then fine, it was me. After all, I'm the only one who can take responsibility. Because you wouldn't dare go after Samantha anyway!"
Michael really wanted to curse!
David rubbed his temples, "Michael, so you're saying there's no evidence? I know you've been taking Lily's side lately, but you can't slander Sophie like this."
