Chapter 106 Get Lost, Who's Your Sibling
Lily heard Austin's voice, but she didn't even turn her head.
She had nothing to say to anyone from the Roberts family now.
Lily got straight into the passenger seat. Austin tapped on the car window: "Lily, what David said just now, don't take it to heart, okay?"
Lily's expression was cold: "I never take to heart what insignificant people say."
Insignificant people?
Austin felt a sharp pain in his heart. He stammered: "Lily, David has always been like this—he cares about his dignity. You said those things in public and embarrassed David; that's why he got angry. We're family after all. Do we really have to let it come to this?"
Lily laughed out loud: "Family? I cut ties with you all a long time ago. We're not family anymore. From now on, it's best if we act like strangers when we see each other."
Dennis hit the gas and drove off, not giving Austin any chance to continue talking.
Austin watched the car drive away. He slumped to the ground in defeat, took out his phone wanting to message Lily, only to find he'd already been deleted.
He thought back to what he'd said to Lily before and was filled with regret.
David stormed out angrily: "Where's Lily? How dare she say those things in front of the media—I'm going to teach her a lesson this time!"
"David, Lily already left. We wronged her before, that's why she got angry and left the Roberts family. We're the ones who owe her."
"Damn it, you're still taking Lily's side? The way she's become so arrogant now is because you and Michael spoiled her. She's relying on that school doctor now, right? I'll send people to destroy her support right away. He's just a small-time school doctor—I could crush him with a flick of my finger!"
David was completely enraged!
Seeing David leave, Austin quickly called Michael: "Michael, something bad happened. Today at the convention center, Lily won the Outstanding Youth of the City award, but she announced in front of the media that she's cutting ties with our Roberts family. David's gone crazy now and wants to go after Lily and that school doctor."
Michael immediately got out of his hospital bed: "I'm coming right now. You need to calm David down—we absolutely cannot do anything to hurt Lily."
The attending doctor spoke up quickly: "Mr. Roberts, you're still in treatment; you can't leave."
Michael pulled out the IV needle directly, didn't even have time to change clothes, and left the hospital immediately.
He kept calling Lily, but no one answered.
Michael clutched his stomach in pain: [Lily, where are you? David is very angry right now and has lost his mind. Don't go back to your apartment.]
Lily had just gotten out of the car. After seeing Michael's message, she instinctively frowned: "As expected, they'll never understand what respect means."
Dennis saw the message on her phone, his expression turning cold: "Are you planning to leave?"
"No. If we're going to cut ties, let's cut them completely."
Lily seemed to have made some kind of decision as she looked at Dennis: "I can handle this myself."
"You sure?"
Dennis's face was dark—the Roberts family people really were like persistent ghosts.
Lily's gaze was cold: "Yes. Since they keep being so clueless, let's help them wake up."
She already had a plan in mind.
She looked at Dennis: "Can I borrow your study computer?"
Lily sat in front of the computer and directly hacked into the Roberts Group's official website.
In her past life, an insider among David's company's technical staff had leaked company secrets, nearly causing the Roberts Group to go bankrupt.
She had fixed the internal system vulnerabilities and found that insider, helping David resolve the crisis.
Later, she wrote the source code for the internal system's firewall to prevent the same thing from happening again.
But this time, she was taking back what she'd given.
Dennis stood at the study door, seeing her determined expression, and didn't disturb her.
Though he didn't know what Lily was planning to do.
But judging by her expression, there shouldn't be any problems. If she couldn't handle it, he'd clean up after her.
Right after Lily exited the system, there was intense knocking at the door.
She laughed coldly: "Finally here."
Lily walked out of the study and looked at Dennis: "Why don't you hide for a bit?"
He raised an eyebrow: "Am I really that shameful?"
"That's not what I mean. David is coming to cause trouble. I'm worried he'll punch you as soon as he walks in."
Lily pushed Dennis back into his room: "This is my business, so let me handle it myself."
Dennis nodded helplessly and went back to his room.
Lily turned and opened the apartment door, but the person standing outside wasn't David—it was Michael!
Her expression was cold: "Why is it you?"
Michael sat in a wheelchair, his face pale: "I managed to delay David. Come with me now!"
Lily took a step back, creating distance between them: "I'm not going anywhere."
"Lily, stop being stubborn. David can do anything when he's angry. Come with me first, I'll explain things to David for you."
"I don't need you to explain for me. I really am cutting ties with you all. This is a fact, not a joke."
Michael's face grew even paler: "Lily, we're family. Are you really going to cut ties over these small misunderstandings?"
He had never believed Lily really wanted to cut ties.
Not until Lily said it in front of the media did he truly panic.
Michael explained frantically: "Lily, I really know I was wrong before. I really want to make it up to you. Can you give me a chance?"
Lily laughed coldly: "Save your fake apology. I don't want it."
"Lily, how can you talk to Michael like that? He didn't even finish his surgery and ran straight out for you. Look at yourself—what have you become?"
David came out of the elevator with a stern face: "I wanted to give you one more chance last time, but now I think I need to teach you a proper lesson, so you don't cause trouble for the Roberts family in the future!"
Lily lifted her eyelids slightly: "I've already cut ties with your Roberts family, but you're still so arrogant. Well, before I leave, I have a gift for you all."
"Lily, now you know to be scared? Too late! Unless you break up with that school doctor right now, come home with me to apologize, and make up with your sister Sophie, I might consider not pursuing what you've done."
Lily just found it laughable.
She said coldly, "David, do you remember who wrote the source code for the Roberts Group's firewall?"
David hesitated: "Why are you asking about that? Don't think that just because you participated in some game development, you're qualified to ask about these things!"
At that moment, David's secretary rushed over anxiously: "Mr. Roberts, the company's internal system has been hacked, the firewall has completely collapsed, and I'm afraid internal secrets will be leaked."
David looked at Lily: "What did you do? How do you have the ability to do this?"
Michael smiled bitterly as he reminded him: "David, the source code for the Roberts Group's firewall was written by Lily. Have you forgotten?"
