Chapter 45 She Moves Out
After flipping the dining table, Lily casually wiped her hands.
Austin stared at her, completely stunned. "Lily, have you lost your mind?"
Lily had never acted like this before. She even used a lighter to burn Sophie's stuff!
This wasn't the Lily they knew.
Lily kicked a nearby chair, her voice tinged with impatience. "You're all too loud. If you don't want to eat, then no one should!"
She was out of patience. She couldn't stand watching Sophie put on a show. It was disgusting.
Sophie immediately burst into tears. "It's all my fault, it's all my fault, I'm the sinner here!"
"Sophie, you're just too kind. If anyone should leave, it should be her!" Austin shouted.
Lily didn't hesitate. "Fine, I'll leave!"
Since her goal was achieved, she didn't want to waste any more time here.
Michael quickly interjected. "No, Lily, you can't leave. This is your home! Where else would you go?"
"Michael, just cut off her credit cards. Let's see how long she lasts out there!" Austin said.
Lily's expression remained indifferent, not taking the threat seriously. "Whatever."
She would never forget the time when her credit cards were cut off, and she was nearly reduced to begging on the streets!
That was why she needed to earn her own money!
Lily went to her room and only took a backpack, packing a few clothes and her documents, leaving everything else behind.
Michael was flustered. "Lily, don't listen to Austin's nonsense, okay? Didn't you say you'd come back after your exams?"
Lily's gaze was calm and unwavering. "Yes, I did say that."
If she hadn't said that, with Michael and Austin's personalities, who knew what they would have done to mess up her exams?
Now that the exams were over, nothing could affect her anymore. Why should she stay and endure this?
"Lily, we're family. Even if we have conflicts, it's not a big deal, right? I know you've been wronged before, but I promise I'll make it up to you."
Michael had barely slept last night, too afraid to confront Lily.
Once he figured things out, memories cut like knives, keeping him awake.
From the moment Sophie arrived at the Roberts Mansion, Lily had been wronged!
For so many years, Michael hadn't dared to think about it. The more he thought, the more panicked he became.
Lily suddenly smiled, her tone calm. "Michael, don't say that. I plan to get a part-time job and learn to live independently. Sophie can have my room. After all, her father saved my life; it's only right to be good to her."
Austin approached. "You should have done this a long time ago."
It seemed Lily was afraid of severing ties with him!
Lily continued. "Now that the exams are over, Sophie should continue her training with the team. She's a member of the Roberts family team. It wouldn't be fair to exclude her just because she's not good at it."
Austin's expression was barely holding. "Of course, I'll arrange it."
Lily nodded. "Good. I'm leaving now. If there's anything, we can talk later."
Without looking back, Lily headed downstairs.
Austin suddenly panicked. "Michael, are you really letting her go?"
Michael smiled bitterly. "What else can I do? Weren't you the one who told her to leave? Weren't you the one who said you wanted to cut ties with her?"
"I was just speaking out of anger!"
"Austin, but the hurtful words you've said can't be easily erased."
The damage was done, and it would always be there.
Michael wore a helpless expression. Seeing Austin now was like looking at his former self.
Sophie noticed Michael's demeanor and quickly said. "Michael, I'll move out. Then you can persuade Lily to come back."
Michael shook his head. "No need, you stay."
Lily's issues wouldn't be resolved just by Sophie moving out.
"Michael, I've made up my mind. Thank you for taking care of me all these years."
Sophie turned and started packing her things.
Michael's sudden change in attitude was too obvious. If she didn't do something, he would definitely suspect her.
Austin was anxious. "Michael, Sophie never felt safe in our home. Lily's outburst is just forcing Sophie to leave. Don't you see? Sophie did nothing wrong."
"But Lily has been wronged for years."
"But Paul saved her life. Lily should be grateful and endure some grievances!"
Hearing these words, Michael suddenly clutched his chest, struggling to breathe.
His vision darkened, and he fainted, calling out Lily's name.
He had let down Lily! He had been so wrong!
Lily left the Roberts family and took a cab to her apartment.
Finally, she was free from the Roberts Mansion.
She arrived at Dennis's door and was about to knock when the door suddenly opened.
"Lily, congratulations!"
Eric stood there with a party popper, showering Lily with confetti.
Lily was surprised.
Dennis stood nearby, leaning against the dining table, with a small cake beside him.
Lily asked in astonishment, "Is it someone's birthday today?"
Eric replied, "Today is the first day of your new life after leaving the Roberts Mansion. We got a cake to celebrate!"
After learning what Lily had endured at the Roberts Mansion, Eric couldn't help but feel sympathy for her.
Lily's eyes grew misty. "Thank you."
"You're welcome. Let's eat, blow out the candles, and make a wish!"
Lily's wish was simple: to never be entangled with the Roberts family again and to live for herself from now on!
After dinner, Dennis asked calmly, "What do you want to do now?"
No matter what she wanted, he would help her achieve it.
Lily thought for a moment. "I'll start live streaming to make money."
Since she had left the Roberts Mansion, she needed to earn her own living.
Eric chimed in, "Perfect timing. There's a Hall of Fame ranking competition in the game starting tonight. You could stream that."
Lily remembered the Hall of Fame event.
In her past life, she ranked high, but Austin gave her account to Sophie for streaming.
So all the final honors went to Sophie.
No one knew how much effort she had put in to reach the top ten.
This time, she wouldn't let Sophie take it away.
Dennis asked, "Which platform do you plan to stream on?"
Eric suggested, "How about Crayfish? It's a reputable company with good benefits for newcomers."
Most importantly, Crayfish was owned by the Gonzalez family.
Dennis shot Eric a warning glance.
"Sure, whichever platform pays well, I'll go there."
Lily had heard of Crayfish, a company owned by the Gonzalez family in North City.
Austin had also started a streaming platform called GreenFruit, but it couldn't compare to Crayfish.
In her past life, after winning the finals, GreenFruit became a hit and went public.
Without her this time, Austin's streaming company would likely go bankrupt.
Lily registered an account on Crayfish: [SweetLemon].
She set up her stream without showing her face, focusing the camera on her keyboard and hands.
With her experience, she navigated the game smoothly, quickly accumulating points.
Outside the study.
Eric glanced at Dennis. "Aren't you going to help her with points?"
"She doesn't need it. She'll make it to the top 100 tonight."
"You're that confident in her? I'll send her some gifts then. Make sure to reimburse me!"
Eric opened Lily's stream. There weren't many viewers, but there was one troll.
[This has to be a cheat. No way she's scoring that fast!]
[If she's not cheating, I'll eat my hat!]
[I bet she'll lose when she starts the PK rounds!]
Lily saw the troll's comments.
Because of the accusations of cheating, more people came to watch.
In her first PK match, she defeated her opponent in one move!
The chat exploded!
