Chapter 159 Was the Person I Secretly Loved in My Previous Life Him
Lily didn't think she was that famous.
Dennis's eye twitched, and he grabbed Mark, "He publicly challenged Austin before, trying to poach you to his team."
"Right, I remember now. They were fighting online, too."
Lily looked at Dennis, "By the way, he just called you 'bro'? Are you guys related?"
"Yeah, we're..." Before Mark could finish, someone pinched his back. He grimaced in pain and looked at Dennis, "What are you doing!"
He had wanted to make a polite impression on his future sister-in-law.
Why did Dennis pinch him? Why'd you do that?
Lily pointed at the two of them, "You must be relatives, you have the same last name."
At this, Lily suddenly thought of something. Are Mark and Dennis related?
But Mark is from the Gonzalez family, a wealthy family in Empire City!
Lily looked seriously at Dennis, "Then why didn't you ever mention what your relationship is with the Gonzalez family?"
Dennis nervously explained, "We just share the same last name."
"Right, they're distant relatives. He's my friend, we met playing games, and later he got close with Dennis too." Eric ran over and put his arm around Mark's shoulder, hinting frantically.
Mark looked confused, then realized Lily probably didn't know Dennis's identity, and said, "Right, exactly! Eric, Dennis, they're all my bros!"
Lily looked at the three men in front of her and said nothing.
All three men held their breath, not daring to make a sound.
Lily nodded, "I didn't expect you guys to be so close in real life. You never mentioned it."
"We talked about it before. Dennis was using my account."
Lily suddenly remembered - it seemed like that did happen. She had thought Dennis's account had been hacked.
That person also claimed to be Dennis's brother, right?
It was so long ago, she couldn't quite remember.
Lily realized and looked at Mark, "That account is really yours?"
"Yeah!" Mark said confidently.
Lily's emotions suddenly fluctuated. Does this mean that the person in her past life was Mark?
Not Dennis?
Mark thought Lily seemed strange, "What's wrong? But I only logged in that one time. After that, it was all Dennis."
"Nothing." Lily lowered her head, "I'm going to the restroom."
She hurried to the restroom, her mind filled with scenes of meeting that person in her past life.
She had always thought it was Dennis, because his way of speaking and doing things was very similar to that person's.
Although she had never seen that person in her past life, she thought he must be similar to Dennis!
But she never expected the account to belong to Mark.
If she hadn't met Dennis, who would have been logging into that account?
Lily didn't dare to think further.
Outside.
Mark stood alone under a pillar with his hands raised, looking like he'd done something wrong.
He carefully glanced at Dennis, "Dennis."
Dennis raised an eyebrow slightly, "Shut up!"
"Dennis, I didn't know she didn't know. I'm innocent!" Mark said, aggrieved.
Eric explained, "Good thing I came in time. Lily probably didn't suspect anything."
"Dennis, didn't you get in a car accident with her a while ago? I saw she still had a scar on her forehead." Mark guessed.
Dennis pointed at Mark, his eyes warning.
Mark covered his own mouth, "I promise I won't let it slip. I've been tight-lipped since childhood!"
"You're tight-lipped? Since childhood, which of my secrets haven't you blabbed?" Dennis couldn't control his temper when he saw him. He looked at Eric, "Don't let anything slip later."
Eric nodded, "You can count on me."
Mark poked his head out, "Dennis, are you scared? You should have confidence. Let me say a few words to her..."
Dennis was about to lose it.
Eric grabbed Mark, "Mark, you should go. Don't stand here anymore."
This Mark, he might cause trouble.
"I haven't said goodbye to my future sister-in-law yet. I want to make a good impression on her!"
Dennis kicked at him, "Get lost!"
"Can't catch me! You're getting worked up!" Mark covered his butt and ran away, grimacing.
Dennis showed a helpless expression.
Eric patted Dennis's shoulder, "Why did he come back? Oh right, the finals are being held at the city stadium this weekend."
No wonder Mark came back.
Soon after, Lily came out of the restroom.
She saw the two men standing outside, "Where's Mark?"
When he heard her mention Mark, Dennis's eye twitched. "He had a dinner appointment with friends."
"I see. You know such an amazing person, why didn't you say anything when he logged into your account that time?"
Facing Lily's question, Dennis felt like he was going to the gallows.
He tried to sound casual, "Is he that amazing? I don't think so."
Dennis's tone was quite arrogant.
Mark was at least currently the most promising seed player for the national team - talented, good family background, no pressure, and wouldn't face any unfair treatment.
Lily met Dennis's deep eyes, "Right, you're pretty good at gaming too."
Eric immediately changed the subject, "By the way, Lily, there's an AI exchange event tomorrow afternoon. Maple Leaf Corporation also received an invitation. Come join us. I just got the notice."
"Sure, I'll definitely attend."
Dennis spoke up, "I'll take you back."
"No need, I already called a car. It should be here. See you tomorrow!" Dennis stood there, watching Lily get in the car and leave.
Eric clicked his tongue. "Does Lily suspect something?"
Dennis watched the departing taxi, his profile half-hidden in the shadow of the lights, his expression unclear.
After Lily returned to the dorm, she lay in bed thinking about Mark's account.
Her mind was a mess.
But there were many people with the same name in games. Maybe it wasn't this game account at all, and she was just making assumptions.
Lily didn't sleep well that night.
The next day, she took her laptop to the place Eric mentioned, since she was the technical director for AI after all.
Lily arrived quite early. There was basically no one in the large conference room yet.
After finding a seat, she opened her laptop to prepare materials. Last night, she was distracted by the account issue and hadn't finished organizing the materials.
"Lily, why are you alone? Where are the people from Maple Leaf Corporation?"
Lily looked up and saw Sophie. Her expression didn't change, "They haven't arrived yet. But did you bring what I wanted?"
Sophie lowered her voice, "I'm still working on it. I came here today to participate in this project, so I'll have a chance to get the data you want."
"Then you need to speed up. If I don't get the data before the bidding, I'll have to release that video I have."
Sophie's face became very ugly. Just then, Austin walked over.
Feeling guilty, she changed the subject, "By the way, the finals are at the stadium this weekend. Will you go watch, Lily? Austin has lots of tickets!"
Lily also saw Austin and went along with Sophie's topic change.
"Of course I'll go, but I have tickets. The captain of Bubble Buddies Team specially reserved a VIP seat for me."
"Are you really planning to join the Bubble Buddies Team?"
Austin's face didn't look good when he heard his rival team mentioned.
"None of your business!" Lily said coldly.
Lily saw people from Maple Leaf Corporation arriving and stood up to leave the conference room.
Austin gritted his teeth and followed, "Lily, let's talk!"
As Sophie was about to leave, she noticed Lily had left her laptop on the table, with the screen still on.
Her steps halted, staring intently at Lily's laptop.
With almost no hesitation, she sat down in Lily's seat.
She took out her phone and photographed Lily's documents.
"What are you doing?" Austin questioned.
When Sophie looked up and saw Austin, her face turned pale with fright...
