Chapter 40
Jaime, Bianca, and Seth were all inside a car, and the bodyguards were in another car.
"Maybe we should inform the police," Seth said when they were a few minutes away from Laura's location.
"I think we can take them," Jaime replied.
"We don't know how many men are protecting her," Seth said.
"I think—"
Bianca cut Jaime off before he could finish his sentence and said, "We need the police. I'm not risking my sister's life."
Jaime looked at both of them while his father dialed 911.
"I think we're there," Bianca said when the bodyguards’ car ahead of them stopped suddenly.
They all got out of the car and started scanning their environment. They were in an isolated area where the houses were few minutes apart from each other.
Jaime marched to where the bodyguard in control was standing and said, "Are we there?"
"Yes sir," he replied and fixed his eyes on a story building that they were few meters away from. "This is what we're going to do."
"We already called the police. They are on their way," Jaime said.
"I think waiting for the police isn't a good idea. A second delay might destroy everything."
"So, what do you want us to do?" Jaime asked.
"I think we should go in and attack them before they hurt Olivia and Kylie. Every second counts."
"So you mean…you're going in without the police?" Bianca asked as she joined them.
"We're also police," the bodyguard replied.
"What if you're outnumbered? I know what you're trying to do. You want to play the hero. I'm not playing games with my sister's and niece's lives."
"No one is playing the hero. We're just trying to save them."
"Don't worry, I'm going with them," Jaime said all of a sudden while looking at Bianca. I'm ready to sacrifice my life for theirs."
"Jaime," Seth called slowly.
Jaime faced his father and said, "They are my life, Dad. Without them, I'm nobody."
"Be careful."
"I will. I know you're worried about me, but I will be very careful."
After telling one of the bodyguards to stay with Mr. Seth and Bianca, the bodyguard faced Jaime and said, "This is what we're going to do. I'm sure that they are not on the ground floor. So, once we find our way to the ground floor, we will go for the back door."

Kylie stopped crying and looked at the handsome man who kidnapped her. She was planning how they were going to escape. She was her mother's last hope, she thought.
She knew she could untie herself if she tried to because she was not tied tightly but she was scared. What if her plans went wrong? No, I have to be strong. Under her eyelashes, she looked at the man's gun that was carelessly placed on a stool. It wasn't far away from her. If she could untie herself quickly and get the gun, their problems might be over.
"I'm thirsty," she said to the handsome man. The man pretended not to hear her, so Kylie said it again and again and again until the man had no other option than to answer her. He got up and left the room without his gun.
The moment he stepped out of the room, Kylie started untying the ropes which took her few seconds to do. After untying the ropes, she got out of the chair that she was sitting on and ran to where the gun was. She picked it up with shaky hands but a determined heart and pointed it at the door.

Bianca was moving up and down where she, Seth and the bodyguard were waiting for the police, and she was imagining what was happening inside the building.
Her gut was telling her that something bad was going to happen. Olivia's dead body was everything that she was seeing in her eyes.
All of a sudden, she marched to the bodyguard and said, "Give me your gun."
The bodyguard looked at her as if he had misheard and said, "What?"
"I said, give me your gun."
"I'm sorry, but I can't."
"It's…"
"You going inside is not a good idea," Seth chipped in.
"I know," Bianca replied, "But I'm ready to risk my life for my sister's."
"Let me go in instead," the bodyguard said.
"No. Don't. Stay here and protect him. That's your responsibility. My own responsibility is to protect my sister.”
The bodyguard looked at Mr. Seth and Mr. Seth shrugged before saying "Give it to her."
"Thank you," Bianca said as she grabbed the gun.

"Oh!" The handsome man said shockingly when he stepped inside the room and saw Kylie pointing the gun at him. On one side, he was amazed at the girl's courage, and on the other side, he was scared that the girl was going to pull the trigger due to how focused her eyes were.
"Drop the cup and start moving" Kylie said boldly "Oh Kylie, don't do something stupid. Don't…"
Kylie cut him off "It's better you start walking or I'll kill you"
"It seems as if you don't love your mother. If you love her, you won't be doing this"
"I'm doing this because I love her. I know what you people are. You're bad people."
The man slowly took a step toward Kylie and lied, "There are no bullets inside that gun you're holding."
The gun that was in Kylie's hand and the two bullets inside it were everything they had, and he wasn't ready to destroy Laura's plan due to his carelessness.
"I know there are. Don't move closer or else you give me no other option than to shoot you" Kylie warned
The man didn’t listen to Kylie's warning and took another step. "There are no…" He stopped talking when he heard the gun go off. The little girl wasn't a coward like her father.
Kylie focused all her attention on the man's leg and shot at it. But fortunately for the man, the bullet only grazed him.
He cried out in pain and dropped the cup that was in his hand. The water inside the cup poured in all directions.
"Now, start moving," Kylie said coldly.

When Laura heard the gunshot and the man's howls, she was startled. She had no idea what was going on because from her point of view, Kylie couldn't be the one who had shot the gun. Someone had found her out, she thought and started moving up and down.
"Kylie!?" Olivia screamed. She also had no idea what was going on and she started fighting against the ropes that were tied around her while calling Kylie's name.
"Shut up!!!" Laura screamed at Olivia. "Shut the fuck up!"
Olivia ignored Laura and kept calling Kylie's name until Laura grabbed a bag and tape, which she used to shut Olivia's mouth.
Who could have shot that gun? Laura thought before she carefully opened the door.
