Chapter 70 Love You

Chapter 70 Love You
Liam stepped out of the car and walked toward Muse, open-armed.

Muse immediately rushed over and rubbed her head against his chest.

He ruffled her head and murmured something before glancing back at her in the car.

KNOCK!

The car window was tapped.

Emma rolled down the window.

A woman with thick, straight, brown hair appeared before her.

"Emma?" The woman's voice was melodious. "I'm Patricia Hayes, Liam's sister."

Emma froze for a moment.

Patricia smiled softly.

"Sorry," Emma said, carefully opening the door and stepping out.

"It's okay," Patricia said with a smile.

The man beside her extended his hand. "I'm Liam's brother-in-law, Virgil Newman."

Several people nearby glanced over.

Liam approached, leaving the dog sitting on the lawn.

"Hi, Patricia," he greeting him before embracing Virgil. "Long time no see, my sister."

"They went to the same high school. Virgil was a year ahead. They got into a fight, that's how I met him." Patricia introduced, holding Emma's hand.

Emma nodded.

"Last time for Grandpa's birthday, we heard you were coming, and that's when Liam finally agreed to come home. But he didn't get to meet you. What a shame," Patricia continued.

Emma froze.

Was that day the first time he'd come home in all these years?
Oh my God!
Did I cause trouble?

Guilt washed over her.

"Things were hectic that day," Emma murmured, lowering her head.

"Liam has a temper. He must have picked on you a lot, right?" Patricia pulled Emma aside.

"He doesn't dare bully me. He's pretty obedient," Emma chuckled.
"Really?" Patricia widened her eyes.

"How about having a barbecue tonight?" she suggested.

Tonight?

Realling the words Liam had said earlier in the car, Emma blushed.

Would tonight be okay?

Liam walked beside her, dragging their suitcase.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked.

"Nothing."

"Nothing? Your face is red. What fantasies are running through your head?" He chuckled and reached out to tickle her nose.

Her face flushed with anger as she pounded his chest.

Liam chuckled.

Two maids approached—one dragging luggage inside and the other leading the way.

——

On the sixth floor.

There was a living room, a bedroom, and a small balcony in their suite.

Stepping into the living room, Liam wrapped his arms around Emma from behind.

"The maid is still here," Emma murmured, struggling.

"It's okay," he said, burying his face in the crook of her neck.

The maid finished tidying up and tactfully left the room, closing the door behind her.

Liam spun her around and held her close.

Sensing that something was off, she asked, "What's wrong, Liam?"

She wrapped her arms around his waist.

"I love you," he murmured.

Emma froze, her heart pounding wildly.

Before she could respond, he added, "Thank you."

"Not today..." she murmured, tightening her grip.

"All right, I'll listen to you, honey."

——

At 5:00 p.m.

Liam was leaning against the headboard, frowning as he looked at his tablet.

His free hand occasionally stroked her cheek.

She nuzzled against his chest and glanced at the tablet screen.

"Didn't you rest?" she asked with a thick nasal tone.

"Are you catching a cold?" he asked, turning his head to look at her.

"Hmm, I think so." She touched her face.

"Mmm..."

Her eyes widened as a sudden kiss landed on her burning lips.

He carelessly tossed the tablet onto the nightstand; it slipped and fell onto the carpet.

One of his hands cupped the back of her head, pressing her down onto the bed.

"Liam, I have a cold! It's contagious!" She tried to stop her.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and leaned down close.

"It's okay, baby..." he murmured.

His tongue swirled inside her mouth and sucked until hers went numb.

One hand slipped beneath the fabric, sending shivers of pleasure through her.

His other hand pressed her forcefully against him as his hardness pressed against her.

Suddenly, he stopped.

His forehead pressed against hers, and his breath came in ragged gasps.

His brow was deeply furrowed.

He held back.

Gazing at her, he cupped her cheeks gently.

Then, he stood up and fastened his unbuckled belt.

Emma pulled her dress up and fastened the hidden clasp.

"Put on more clothes later. It gets cold at night," he said softly.

She nodded and walked to the room's terrace.

The lawn was already filling with people. The fire was already ready for grilling meat.

The two walked to the hallway to reach the elevator.

Liam reached for her hand, but she beat him to it, slipping her own into her coat pocket.

"Not even holding hands?" he chuckled.

"No way," she said softly. "Too many people are watching."

The elevator doors opened, and they stepped inside together.

He reached out and placed his arm around her shoulder.

She tried to pull away, but he held her tighter.

The elevator doors opened again.

The first-floor hall of the castle was filled with delicious dishes.

Beside them, chefs seared ribeye steaks and prepared seafood towers.

Some people noticed the striking couple emerging from the elevator and began whispering.

"Liam is back!"

"The woman beside him must be his wife."

"I never heard he got married."

Liam merely nodded briefly.

Emma followed his lead with a nod before they stepped out.

"My darling! You finally made it!"

A familiar voice called out from nearby.

Lillian rushed forward and pulled Emma into a tight embrace.

All eyes in the room turned to them.

"Sorry, Lillian. I slept in too long," Emma said, flustered.

Lillian playfully punched Liam beside her.

Liam looked at her innocently.

What is going on?

"How could you let her freeze and catch a cold?" Lillian snapped.

"Fine, fine, it's my fault," Liam said.

"Your dad and grandpa are waiting for you over there. I'm taking her with me. We'll come back once the food's ready," Lillian said.

Liam glanced at Emma, reluctant to leave.

"I want grilled portobello mushrooms and asparagus." Emma tugged his hand gently.

"Alright!" He nodded.

"Love you!" Emma whispered before leaving with Lillian.
