Oh my dress

Oh my dress
“I was going to see if you would like to go to the Vampire Yule Ball. It is held at an old castle over in Scotland. I haven’t gone in years because we lost track of one another. With your idea of a vamp network we are able to talk better. So I wanted to see if you wanted to go. The theme this year…well I’m not too sure it is really a theme. You’re to dress like a certain time period. I was thinking we could do the renaissance.” Draven knew what she would think, he was alright with that.

I looked at him with bulging eyes and felt like I was going have my head pop off. He was asking me to go to Scotland to go to a party? I wonder why? I mean I don’t know any of these people. The idea of dressing up and looking nice I would have a good time I guess. It was something new and maybe I would meet some new people. Some to talk to about being a vampire.

“What day is the party?” I asked having to make sure that I didn't have anything else going on.

“I think it is on the twenty-first of December.” Draven knew the date by heart.

“That is like two weeks away, how the hell do you think I can get a gown by then?” I glared at him and hated that he would do that to me. He knows how much I loved to dress up.

“Nat you are rich, you can get whatever you want in time even a jet to get us there.” Draven told him with a laugh.

I glared at him and then sighed, maybe he was right. The internet was amazing to find someone to make the dress. So I was off and running on how to find someone, then I glanced at him.

“I take it you already know someone and they are out in your car?” I said feeling that something else was going on.

“As a matter of fact yes.” He stood up and went to the door.

“Bring them in then, I am sure you already have a dress made and ready to be fit. It had better be blue.” I glared at him as he went to the door.

He laughed and went to get the woman who sat in his car. I left the door open and went into the living room to the right of the door. I sat on the couch and watched as Draven and the woman dragged in a rather large dress and some material. After almost twenty minutes of moving stuff around Draven had me standing on a small stool in the middle of the room.

The woman had me strip down to pantaloons and a slip. Then she layered on a corset that I swear I didn’t think I could breathe in and on top went more layers. After she was done I looked into the mirror and gasped. It was the dress he had put in my head that first night. Tears start to stream down my face. For once in my life I felt beautiful from the top of my head to my toes.

“Oh my god…” I stepped down and went to the mirror, which was more a monitor. I felt tears running down my face and turned back to Draven and Ceri. “I have to keep her; I swear she is amazing with cloth.”

“You mean you want to give me a permanent job?” Ceri looked shocked, but happy.

“You have no idea how hard it is to find stuff that fits me. So yes I would love to give you a job that would let you create your own line of clothes using me as a model. A line for curvy women.” It took me a moment to see that I wasn't the only one crying.

I turned and she was crying on her knees. I knelt and pulled her up to face me. Why would she be this upset? She had an amazing talent and she would do great things for fashion.

“Shhhh why are you crying?” I asked not understand.

“You have just given me my dream. I have always wanted to be a designer. I can’t believe that you want to have me make you stuff.” She said with a smile and wet cheeks.

“I will set you up with a nice place to work and come to see you so that you can show me some of your stuff. I love the dress by the way. I would say this is Draven’s design.” I nodded toward Draven.

She nodded and her tear stained face looked at me like I had just given her the best gift ever. I took a moment to take in her scent and smiled, she was my favorite blood type B neg. I was almost drooling at her when I closed my eyes and put those thoughts away. I moved to the stool again and waited while she did a few adjustments and said she wanted to add a few more things to the dress and finish the hem. Almost four hours later the dress was being packed away and taken out the door. Ceri and I spoke about the line I wanted her to make and what I was looking for. She said she had some ideas already and wanted to start drawing. I nodded and told her to look for a location that would fit her needs, maybe have it have a place for her to live over top of it. That way she would have a home as well. I think she couldn’t take much more so I left it at that. Draven took her home and I laughed at the fact that he had planned this.

It was rather late by the time I went into the kitchen and grabbed a bag of blood. I was rather used to the taste and having to drink it. So I took it in then tossed the bag, heading to my room to shower and get ready for bed. I checked the lock first then stepping into my rather large shower. One of the other selling points to this house; this was a walk in shower stall. The glass front wall and stone around the outer edges in the back the wall had a window in it, but a waterfall of water kept people from seeing in.
