God Mom...Knock
“I have my company working on another type of blood. Your wonderful daughter here suggested mixing the blood with other things. Such as chocolate and maybe even wine.” Draven's eyes showed his pride as he spoke.
I blushed and couldn’t help but almost laugh at the way my mother looked at us. We talked about having blood like it was nothing out of the normal. We didn’t know for sure that they would work so it wasn’t really a big deal that someone was working on it. I was sure that she would come up with something that would help them.
“I got an idea…A great name for it. Crimson Sweets.” Lilia smiled at her daughter as she spoke.
“That is a great idea. Maybe we can work on a way to blend them in the kitchen. I am sure we can get the chocolate to melt down and add some blood to it. Unless you think it should be done in a lab.” I looked up at Draven. My mind running around with things that we could make.
“Maybe the lab is better for many things, but the Crimson Sweets would be a mix of lab and cooking. So we might be able to do the cooking in the kitchen.” Draven knew that she wanted to be helpful.
We got onto that topic for a little while and then my parents both yawned and said they needed to head to bed. So off they went after hugs and a kiss on the cheek. I smiled as I watched the two head toward there room. I was drained and didn’t really know why.
“You need to feed my dear.” Draven held her shoulders talking to her.
“Oh, but I just did before mom and dad got here. I should be ok for a while longer.” I told him thinking that I would be right, maybe I was weaker then I thought.
“You are still young and need to take in more than normal. I know that Elysium wants to give you another batch of the drug to see if it will change anything for you.” Draven told her kissing her cheek.
“I’m not going down there right now, and not while my parents are here. I am still worried about that one guy. Something about him scares me.” I could sense something was off but i couldn't put my finger on it.
He nodded and left to go to his office. I was pretty used to him doing that so I went into my room to watch TV. I really didn’t like living outside the city. The county wasn’t for me at all. I had nothing to do and all my stuff was at my place. He had ordered me new clothes but it still sucked that I didn’t have any of my books or my laptop. I would have to ask him about getting some of that stuff soon.
I guess I fell asleep because the next thing I know my mom is sitting on my bed looking at me. I blink and look at her in shock and finally roll over to stand up. I didn’t get very far because I could smell her blood rushing through her veins. My eyes about bulged out of my head. I didn’t take a moment to stop and think just went to the mini fridge in my closet. I grabbed a bag and pretty much smacked myself in the face with it. My teeth did most of the work, but some went down my throat. I finished off the bag and closed the fridge to see my mom looking at me with shock on her face. I could move pretty fast now, but it was harder for humans to track us.
“I didn’t even see you move. One moment you’re here and the next gone.” Mom looked shocked and in awe at the same time.
“Vampires move pretty fast. By the way not a good idea to wake me like that. I could have taken a bite out of you.” I told her and felt the shame with the way she was looking at me.
She gasped putting her hand on her throat. I sighed and hated that she seemed scared of me. So I went to sit on the bed and looked at her again, she had aged a lot since I had vanished or I was seeing her under new eyes. Crow’s feet had attacked her eyes and she looked like those old women on the product commercials. Her brown hair had gone silver gray and wrinkles hugged her lips. I didn’t understand how my mom had gotten so old. She would hate that I thought that but it was how it was. I couldn’t change what I seen and I would never tell her the truth about that.
“So did you want to try to make some Crimson sweets? I thought we could go to the store and get some stuff. Maybe we could even make some hard candy to.” Mom didn't let her fear stop her however.
I gaped at her and then laughed so hard I had tears running down my face. I didn’t really know what to say then I looked at my bedside table and seen the time. It was a little past five so I couldn’t go out yet. The sun was still up and I didn’t want to risk being in the sun yet. I knew I could be up sooner than Draven but that was about as far as I was willing to go.
“I can’t go out till the sun goes down. Yes I can be up and about, but that is about it. I don’t want to test my limits yet.” I did really want to test it, but fear made me stay where I was.
“Well we can think about what we want to do for the candy and such. Maybe do some candy molds?” She was pushing to get me moving.
“I love you mom, but not too sure if we should do this.” I was letting my fear keep me from trying anything.
“Why not? We have always been good at cooking.” Mom was right of coruse. When we did the cooking as a team I didn't do to bad.
