“So he told you I was royal…Well that is fine that you know a little about whom I am. The question my dear doctor is, are you going to use that information for harm or good? You see that woman is now a queen among my people. The reason behind it is because I turned her. My blood is more pure than most, my mother was a born vampire. Not many vampires can conceive a child; it is so rare that most are considered lords or ladies at birth.” I spoke to her letting her know more about me.
“That does explain many things, but I would love to do more research for you. Other than the Imuno drugs. Things that might help you to have more children and how to suppress the blood lust, I know that is hard to believe that a human would want to help you but I really do love the mystery of it.” She said with such joy.
I wasn’t shocked really by what she was saying, but the question was had Natalia conceived already? That thought made my heart about jump out of my chest. I didn’t know what to think or do any more. How could I be so messed up over a woman and the thought of a child? After a few moments I finally spoke to her.
“I think that we should be sure she isn’t with child to start with. Things really did progress faster than I thought I didn’t think about certain things. If she thinks she would like to do the test then we might do it. Let’s see what happens with her turn first.” I finally said, looking at her face and wishing I had more time to explain.
“I will do a test on her blood to test for a child. Do you know if they will show up like normal humans would? I am would hate for her to go through a turn and a miscarriage at the same time.” Elysium asked looked worried for the woman.
“To be honest I have no idea, do the test. I don’t want her to think that I would hurt our child if she is. I want nothing more than for her to be happy and healthy.” I put a hand on her hand holding it to see if I could feel her heart.
She didn’t say anything else, she moved out of the room a few moments later came back in with a needle and a tube. It took her a moment to draw the blood and leave. I watched Natalia on the bed and wondered if she would even want a thing to do with me after all this. How she hadn’t noticed the strange things about me surprised me. I didn’t eat, or that I stayed out of the sunlight where a few things that would shock many humans. Maybe it was just she didn’t want to deal with it, or she missed it for the sale papers. That thought made me smile, then I felt the dawn approach.

HEIRESS KIDNAPPED IN FRONT OF HOTEL The paper screamed at me, that I should really call Natalia’s mother. The woman would be going out of her mind with worry for her daughter. I didn’t really know what to tell her though. So I read the paper to see what it said. Around ten last night, the Heiress Natalia Schmirsk and her Boyfriend were taken from the sidewalk outside of the Loews Madison Hotel. The two happen to be on their way to the annual Halloween party held by Lilia Westanor.
Police believe that the Puzzle Killer has the two and a ransom will follow within the next forty-eight hours. Other rumors believe the two went to Vegas to elope.
With a grunt I tossed the paper to the table and sighed. This was a large mess, I didn’t have the time to deal with it. Natalia was resting now she seemed to have made it through the turn with little to no problems. The test showed that she wasn’t with child, which seemed to bother me more than I wanted to admit.
“Draven…” her voice was a squeek.
The sound of her voice brought me out of my funk and I moved to her bedside to hold her hand. She looked so weak, but I knew better. The woman was a new turn and had the strength of ten men…maybe more. I hadn’t turned many people in my life so I didn’t know for sure if she would be like others.
“Natalia…Ma cher how are you feeling? Do you need anything?” I asked already knowing what she would ask for.
“Drink…So thirsty.” She whispered to him.
“I need to explain something before I give you a drink. I had to turn you to save your life. I know you won’t…” I told her with a sigh, knowing she would be upset.
“WHAT? You did what? Wait…turned me into what?” Natalia was panicked when she spoke.
I sighed and looked into her green eyes, seeing the hurt there and the worry. She would most likely think I was completely out of my mind. So with a sigh I stood went out to the hall and called one of the men in. They stood by her bed looking more like a zombie than a human.
I heard her gasp and the look on her face when her fangs dropped down. Then the way she tried to hide them behind her hand. I moved to the man’s side pushing him slightly over, putting his neck at her mouth level. It only took her a moment to struggle with it, then she struck. The man didn’t have a chance; I let her drink till I knew he would most likely die. I pushed my finger into her mouth and broke the suction.
She started to cry the moment the man was moved from the room and given OJ and some cookies. He would heal with little to no memory of what had happened. It was a mystery to me why humans didn’t recall the bite unless the vampire wanted them to. I pulled her to my chest and held her while she cried. After a few moments she punched me in the chest I doubled over from the pain.
“You asshole, how the hell could you do this to me?” She screamed at me.
“Nat…Wow you…pack a punch. You were going to die from the drugs they pumped into you.” I explained trying to get her to understand.
“You knew what was going on with the murders and didn’t say anything. Then when they took me you play hero. What happened to the men that took me…The one I just feed on was one of them. He tasted so good…Fear with a mix of…OH God…” Nat hide her face as she started to cry again.
