Unknown is gone..

Even if he could only harm one person, it would still mean trying to cure them of the curse. I didn't like the idea at all. I knew that Draven didn't want to hear that I hated his plan. So I decided to tell him anyway; he would have to listen. Well, maybe he would listen, but having Marcus here would mean that they would say they were older and could handle it.
"Draven, I don't like that idea. If someone is turned by him, how the hell can we cure them? Besides, you don't know for sure that is what the curse is. If we could get more information, that would help. Marcus, do you know of any witches that might help? I know who have witches in the coven, but I am not sure if they would know about this type of curse." I looked between the two men.
"She is right about all of it. It would be rather stupid to go against him without more information." Raven muttered as she looked from me to Marcus.
"I don't know if the witches I knew are still around. It has been a long time since I was myself." Marcus held Raven's hand in his.
"Hmm, maybe talk to the witches in our coven. See if any of them know of a curse like that." Draven suggested, but I could tell he didn't like the idea of asking for help.
What was it about men and not wanting to get help. It wasn't like it would harm them to ask. A simple question and get an answer. It might not give you all the help you need, but even a little right now would help. Draven grabbed his phone and called the witch coven head in our coven. When he explained everything, he seemed a bit confused by her answer. When he ended the call, he looked from Marcus to me.
"Well, she said that a witch during the dark age did a curse like that. Sadly, the curse took the witches' life in the end. It is a very dark spell and the creature that was created should die in due time. It all depends on the creature she changed. Some die right away, others didn't die for two or three life times. She said that the power that was in the last creature that had come into the yard was weak. The person behind this is on their way out, it would seem. The witches suggest that we just wait it out." Draven told us with a sigh.
I was thinking that he didn't believe the witch. In truth, I wasn't sure that I believed it either, trouble was we didn't have any other witches we could speak to. We didn't need to open a channel for powerful witches to come to our coven. The few we had were outcast from the witch covens. Mostly due to messing with a mix of magic's. None of them had gone to dark magic, or using magic to kill. It was one thing that I was sure wouldn't happen with the few witches here. A loud thud brought our attention to Lucien, who groaned as he fell to the floor from the small cot he had been on.
"Why am I on a cot in the living room? Wait, how did I even get in the house?" Lucien rubbed his head when he looked at all of us.
"You were cursed." Raven told him when she ran to give him a hug. "I'm so glad you're alright."
"I did what now?" Lucien hugged his sister then looked at me.
"The creature grabbed you when you got close to the boarder." Draven explained when Lucien sat on the floor by Raven and Marcus.
"Oh, that is just great." Lucien sighed as he stood back up, going into the kitchen.
I was sure he was grabbing a bag of blood. We hadn't been able to get him to drink anything for the last few days. Most likely, he would go through at least two bags.
"Him waking up would prove what the witch said was true." Draven explained what he meant by that. The curse shouldn't have been burnt off by the sun. It should have changed, Lucien. "So maybe we only need to wait a few more days."
We discussed it for a while, then decided to go with what the witch had said. Edgar came back into the living room to tell us that the creature in the forest had fallen and died. He also said that the body didn't change back. So it was possible that he had been human before he was twisted. I didn't like it at all. We would have to bury it or burn it. I voted for burning, that way he couldn't come back to life. I stood, going into my office to check on my emails and look at some Christmas gifts for the kids. When I logged into the computer, a breaking news bulletin flashed on my home page. A desiccated body had been found in a hotel room.
"DRAVEN!!!" I screamed to get him to come to the office.
"What's wrong?" Draven looked around the room, then back to me. I pointed to the computer screen.
"They found an almost mummified body in a hotel downtown. If that is who I think it is, then that witch knew more than she was telling us. It makes me think she knew the spell and helped make it or used it at one point." I told him as we watched them bring the body out of the room. It was yellowish with what looked like strips of material hanging off the bones. The strange thing was he was wearing clothes over the wrap. They had coved the body with a sheet, but the arm had slipped out, showing the strips of material. "How could he have still been alive?"
"Magic can do some strange things. Maybe we should see if she could get in to see the body." Draven suggested, but I knew the cops wouldn't go for that.
"No way they are going to allow her in. Marcus might be able to go and say that it was his brother." I shook my head. "No, that would be insane, and they would ask way too many questions."
This was a problem, but if the witches went, they might be able to tell us something. Besides, one of them worked at the museum, and I was sure they would call them in to check out the body. I didn't like the idea at all, but we had no choice in the matter. I called Sadie to see if she could volunteer to go and check on the body. Furthermore, I didn't want her to touch it for fear it might harm her. If she wanted, she could take Lucien with her as muscle. She laughed at the thought of Lucien being her muscle. I was rather sure Sadie had a crush on him. He agreed to go with her if she wanted.
