Chapter 81 CHAPTER 81
"No, I just thought he would be home for dinner." I said. I shook off my disappointment and joined in the conversation about what Jobs the guys would be suited for. Valen opened the door and said dinner was here. I heard him bring the cart in. But everyone was quiet. Then It hit my nose Titan scent filled the room.
"Sorry I stopped and grabbed the trolly and made sure Maggie had my dinner on there too." Titan said. I laughed and put out my arms to him. I could feel his hair was damp.
"Did you shower in the kitchen sink?" I joked with him.
"No I ran down to the gym and had a quick shower, being in that council meeting and then three hours in the car. I needed a shower." He laughed
"You must have had a hard day; we should have dinner before it gets cold." I said.
"Titan, can I design our suite if I'm going to be in it a lot of the time.?" I asked him.
"Yes, but how?" He asked
"I will show you after dinner. I have to thank you for letting Roman, Nigel and Kyle stay with me for two days we did a lot od catching up it was wonderful spending the time together." I said to him.
"I'm so glad, you know I want for you to be happy. You seem so relaxed and at peace." Titan commented.
"Roman, Nigel and Kyle have decided what jobs they would like to do." I told him moving the conversation away from me.
"That is wonderful, so what have you all decided?" Titan asked them. The rest if dinner they talked about what skills they had and how they could help to make the pack work better. Titan really liked the ideas they had come up with. During our two-day camp out, I learned that Kyle was a real nerd technology guy he had some great ideas for improving security around the whole pack. We went from dinner to sitting and them all talking about the pack. I sat and smiled curled up against Titan as they talked. But finally, I needed to talk with Titan alone and shood the guys to their rooms, giving each of them a hug. When the door closed Titan picked me up and carried me to the bed after laying me down he took of his shoes, and he laid down pulling me to him.
"I like seeing you this happy and excited about things." Titan said kissing my neck.
"I want to talk to you." I told him pulling away.
"Is something wrong?" He asked.
"Can you get me the two book on the top of the third pile please?" I asked. This was going to be hard, but I was not going to get mad I told myself. I needed to hear him out.
"Here you are," he said putting the books in my hand. I put the bottom one on the bed and took a deep breath.
"I guess it was hard for you to listen to how the females were taken from their homes and how some went through such horrors." I asked.
"It was why had no one done anything to stop it they got away with it for so many years. Then to hear from the guardians and how they tried to protect them. It saddens me that this happened and you had to go through it, " he said his voice cracking with true emotions. I reached up and felt the tear and wiped them.
"Why was I not called to testify?" I asked.
"Remember that poster wanted dead or alive." He asked.
"Yes but I thought that was taken care of by the special police?" I asked. It was but to keep you out of it. They arrested me when I got there and I went to trial where Tod proved my innocence and I was set free.
It was not until today after we heard the last of the testimonies that the prosecutor said that you would not be testifying due to your injuries." He said.
"I don't understand what injuries they are talking about?" I asked.
"Raven I don't know Garrison is getting a hold of all the files he can pertaining to the case and you." He said.
"Who was talking to the witnesses, you or Garrison?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" He asked. I opened the book to the picture I had drawn. He looked at it. That was Garrison, I told him it was a bad idea. After hearing their testimonies, I did not want to go near them. He said she may know the name of the pack you came from. We are still trying to find your mother and brother. Garrison opened his mouth about stuff he should nit have said. I didn't talk to him most of the way home. I turned the page and showed him the picture of him looking out the car window tears in his eyes.
"I was trying to figure out how I was going to explain it all to you. It is true pictures are worth a thousand words. I love you, so much Raven." He said reaching for me. I went to his arms willingly. It was four in the morning before we fell asleep totally spent and happy.
IMARA'S POV
I had been cleaning the stupid room in the pack house for three days. Three of the room had a familiar scent to them but I never saw anyone in them and beds had not been slept in. Every time I passed the elevator my new shadow Theo was on my ass to keep moving. This was getting me no where. I heard the chatter that Alpha Titan had gone for two days to the high council, and Luna Loria was under the weather. I thought I would find a way upstairs. But I was wrong there was not even a set of stairs that went to the upper floors. Until I saw a girl come out of a wall. I kept my head down and vacuumed the floor. The girl stopped to talk to Theo then went into her room. When she came out Theo walked her to the elevator and sent her upstairs. I quickly checked the wall where she had come out and found a hidden lever. I went back to vacuuming. I could not wait to tell Jessica I found a way upstairs. When I was done cleaning I went and had my lunch. I was in a great mood. I asked Theo after I ate to take me to where I could get some clothes. He was annoyed but took me. I looked through everything finally finding what I needed I grabbed a few other things and went out to where Theo was waiting.
