Chapter 174 Mutual Destruction

Chapter 174 Mutual Destruction

She grabbed her shopping bags, closed the trunk, and turned to walk toward the residential complex entrance.

Actually, Ella's whereabouts had already been reported to Austin by his bodyguards.

Austin had dressed to impress, wearing a sharp custom-made suit and even spraying on Ella's favorite cologne.

He held a bouquet of flowers and had been waiting in his car.

As soon as he saw Ella's car stop, Austin couldn't wait to get out with the bright red roses and walk straight toward her.

Ella hadn't noticed him yet and was hurrying across the road toward the complex entrance, eager to get home.

Just then, a car that had been parked nearby suddenly started up, and the roar of its engine could be heard.

Judith had already floored the gas pedal and was heading straight for Ella.

Ella had just reached the middle of the road when she turned and saw a car speeding toward her.

Her heart skipped a beat. The car was so close, it seemed too late to dodge.

Austin's sharp eyes caught something wrong. Anxiety gripped him, the smile vanished from his face, and he broke into a sprint.

Ella felt her mind go blank, but her feet seemed nailed to the ground—she couldn't move.

Suddenly, she felt someone push her hard, followed by a loud crash as someone was hit by the car and sent flying right in front of her.

Judith hadn't expected this either. She was about to hit Ella when Austin rushed over.

He pushed Ella out of the way. By the time Judith realized what was happening, it was too late to hit the brakes.

The piercing sound of brakes mixed with the screech of tires against pavement as Judith finally brought the car to a stop.

From the momentum, her head hit the steering wheel, cutting her forehead. Everything went black as she lost consciousness.

Ella had been pushed to the side of the road. When she came to her senses and looked back, Austin was already lying in a pool of blood.

Behind him were scattered bright red roses on the ground.

Ella stumbled to her feet and rushed to Austin. Seeing him covered in blood, she tried to help him up.

"Austin, Austin, wake up! Why were you so foolish?"

"You can't die now. I'm calling an ambulance." Ella's voice was choked with tears, her body trembling uncontrollably.

With a shaking hand, she pulled her phone from her pocket and dialed emergency services.

"Come quickly, please hurry, someone's hurt."

After ending the call, looking at Austin lying on the ground barely breathing, Ella's eyes were already blurred with tears.

"Austin, you have to hang on. I won't let you die!"

Austin seemed to hear Ella's call. His eyelashes fluttered as he weakly opened his eyes.

"Austin, how do you feel?" Ella asked anxiously.

"Ella, I'm glad you're okay. Happy birthday," Austin said weakly, his words broken.

"How can you say that at a time like this? I've called an ambulance. You won't die. You have to hang on."

Austin looked at Ella's tear-stained face. He weakly tried to lift his blood-covered hand to wipe her tears, but couldn't raise it. He said weakly:

"Ella, don't cry. I know I wronged you. I'm a jerk."

Right after saying this, Austin felt something metallic in his throat. He coughed violently twice and spat out blood.

"Don't talk!" Ella quickly reached out to wipe the blood from his mouth.

"Ella, let me speak. I'm afraid if I don't say it now, I'll never get the chance."

"Stop talking. You won't die. I won't let you die! I haven't gotten my revenge yet. You're not allowed to die." Ella cried while speaking in a commanding tone.

"I promise, as long as I don't die, you can get revenge however you want."

Austin's voice grew weaker. He felt his consciousness fading.

After saying this, Austin's hand, suspended in mid-air, dropped limply, and he closed his eyes, falling into unconsciousness.

"Austin, wake up. Don't sleep. If you dare die, I'll never forgive you."

"Austin, wake up. The ambulance will be here soon."

No matter how much Ella called out, Austin didn't respond.

Ella felt her heart being pierced by countless blades, over and over.

Ella admitted she did hate Austin and had cursed him countless times.

But actually seeing Austin lying in a pool of blood, at this moment, Ella regretted it. No matter what, she had never wanted Austin to die.

Just then, Austin's driver realized something was wrong and rushed over to check, also stunned by the scene before him.

"Mr. Raymond, Mr. Raymond, what happened?" the driver asked in a trembling voice.

The driver quickly calmed down and immediately called to notify Austin's family.

Just as Ella held Austin, nearly in despair, the sound of an ambulance grew closer.

The ambulance stopped steadily in front of Ella, and the paramedics got out.

At the fastest speed, they lifted Austin onto a stretcher and into the ambulance. Ella mechanically followed and got in.

She just stared blankly as the paramedics in the ambulance put an oxygen mask on Austin and performed emergency treatment.

More than ten minutes later, the ambulance arrived at the hospital with sirens blaring.

When Austin was sent into the emergency room, Ella felt her legs go weak. She sat on the bench outside the emergency room, staring at the lit emergency light.

Ella prayed in her heart that Austin must live! He couldn't die!

Austin's driver was also pacing anxiously nearby, running up and down to handle the payments.

Just then, Margaret arrived at the emergency room entrance, pale-faced and supported by someone, crying out:

"How is Austin now?"

The driver hurried over to report.

"Mrs. Raymond, Mr. Raymond is still in the emergency room. He's badly hurt. The doctors are still trying to save him."

"What happened? How did Austin get into a car accident when he was fine?"

When the driver heard Margaret ask this, he instinctively looked at Ella, seeming to want to say something but holding back.

Margaret followed his gaze to Ella, her eyes widening instantly as she roared:

"Is it her? Does this have something to do with her? Tell me!"

So the driver had no choice but to tell the truth. Margaret staggered to her feet.

She came before Ella, eyes bloodshot, and shouted viciously:

"Ella, you bitch! You're already divorced from Austin, and you still want to hurt him. What are you up to?"
