Nick feeling a mix of anger and betrayal, stood in his office, staring at the woman who had been his mistress. He couldn't believe she dared to hide their daughter from him. His mind raced as he tried to understand her motives and the extent of her deception.
Taking a deep breath, Nick approached her, his voice filled with anger and disappointment. "What on earth were you thinking? Hiding our daughter from me? This is unforgivable!"
The mistress, visibly shaken, tried to explain, "I didn't mean to hurt you, Nick. I just wanted to protect our daughter from the mess we've created. I thought it was best if she stayed away from all of this."
Nick's anger intensified as he continued, "You have no right to make decisions like this without consulting me. Our daughter deserves better than being used as a pawn in your games!"
As the conversation escalated, Nick made it clear that their relationship was over. He couldn't trust her anymore, and their secret affair had caused too much damage to their lives. The mistress, heartbroken and ashamed, agreed to leave his office.
“ If you end this, you say goodbye to your daughter.” With that said, she left his office.
Nick sat alone in his living room, his thoughts consumed by the threat he had received from Jane, his daughter's mother. The idea of not being able to see his child again filled him with a sense of dread and helplessness. He knew that he had to find a way to address this issue and ensure his relationship with his daughter was not further jeopardized.
As he pondered the situation, Nick realized that he had to take responsibility for his actions and make amends to Jane. He also understood that he needed to work on rebuilding trust with her, so they could come to a mutual understanding about their daughter's well-being.
"Hello?" Jane said, picking up the phone. She didn't recognize the number, and she was hesitant to answer.
"Hi Jane," the voice on the other end said. "This is Larry. I know we've never met, but I have something important to talk to you about."
"What could you possibly have to say to me?" Jane asked, her voice skeptical. "And why should I listen?"
"Because I know something about your boyfriend, Nick," Larry said, his voice serious. "I think you need to hear it."
"Please, let's meet up," Larry said. "There's so much to discuss. Can we meet for coffee or lunch tomorrow?"
Jane hesitated, unsure if she wanted to hear what Larry had to say. But she also knew that she needed to know the truth. "Okay," she said, her voice still hesitant. "I can meet you for lunch tomorrow. Where would you like to meet?"
"There's a great cafe near your office," Larry suggested. "It's called The Coffee Bean. Does that work for you?"
"The Coffee Bean is fine," Jane said, still feeling uneasy. "What time should we meet?"
"How about 12:30?" Larry suggested. "We can get a table and talk without feeling rushed."
"Okay," Jane said, feeling a knot in her stomach. "I'll see you at 12:30."
And with that, the conversation ended, and Jane was left with a million questions running through her head. She tried to push them aside, but she knew that she wouldn't be able to sleep until she got some answers.
The next day, Jane found herself at the cafe, her stomach in knots. She spotted Larry sitting at a table near the window, and she took a deep breath before walking over.
"Hi," she said, her voice tight. "Thanks for meeting me."
"It's my pleasure," Larry said, giving her a small smile. "Shall we order some lunch, and then we can talk?"
Jane nodded, taking a seat across from him. "That sounds good."
The waitress came over to take their order, and they both ordered sandwiches. Once the waitress left, the silence between them was almost deaf
"You might not know this," Larry said, "but I know who you are. I know about your background and your family. I know about your history, and I know about the things that you've been through."
Jane was stunned. She didn't know how Larry could know all of this about her. "How do you know these things?" she asked, her voice full of confusion.
"I know these things because I've done my research," Larry said. "I've been looking into you and Nick, and I've been putting the pieces of the puzzle together."
"Who are you?" Jane demanded, her anger rising. "What gives you the right to know so much about me?"
"I'm just trying to help," Larry said, his voice remaining calm. "I know that this is overwhelming, and I'm sorry if I've come on too strong. But I promise you, I have your best interests at heart. I want to help you."
"But how can I trust you?" Jane asked, her voice still full of suspicion. "You've been keeping secrets from me. How do I know that you're not just trying to manipulate me?"
"I know about the girl that you and Nick had," Larry said, his voice quiet but direct. "And I know that it was a difficult situation. I'm not here to judge you. I just want to help you through this, and I want to help you make the best decision for yourself."
The mention of the girl she had with Nick hit Jane like a punch to the gut. It was a part of her past that she'd tried to forget, and now it was being dredged up again. "I don't want to talk about that," she said, her voice trembling. "Please, just leave”
