Chapter 75
"What do you mean by that? Weren't you planning to come?" Mr Zaveri asked but before I could respond, Sorin spoke.
"Please pay her no mind, we will surely be there." He assured his parents.
"Okay, that's better. For a moment there, I was wondering what was going on." Mr Zaveri said again and I gave a weary smile.
"We will be on our way now and we will see you next week, right?" Mrs Zaveri asked, to be sure.
"Definitely." Sorin responded.
"Okay then. Bye." They bid us farewell but not without Sorin's mum turning back to look at me while mouthing "Make sure you call me if anything comes up" and I just nodded with a slight smile.
As they were out of sight, I made for the room but before I could take a couple of steps, Sorin's voice stopped me.
"And where do you think you are going?" He asked.
"The room, is there any problem?" I asked as I turned to look at him.
"Of course there is a problem." He said, "What is the meaning of the stunt you were trying to pull there?" He asked me but I didn't know what he was talking about.
“Stunt?” I asked innocently.
"Don't play dumb with me now, young lady. What was that about?" He said, with his hands in his pockets.
"I still don't know what you are talking about, really." I said, still looking confused.
""Do I really have to come?"" He said, repeating the exact words that I had said to his parents, "Are you trying to make me look bad? Oh! Were you trying to make me look like a bad person in front of my parents? Is that your plan?" He kept going on and on, while I just stood there, staring at him with my mouth open because I was so confused.
"That's not what I'm trying to–" I tried to explain but he cut me off.
"If that is what your plan is, permit me to tell you that you have failed! You failed woefully, nonsense!!!" He thundered and immediately walked out on me and in a few minutes I could hear him revving his car engine and driving out of the house to only God knows where.
To be very honest, I was so confused. It was just a while ago that he hugged me so warmly like his life depended on me and now, he was treating me like a plague. "What sort of confusion is this for crying out loud!?" I thought to myself as I walked back into the room. One moment he was looking all warm, and the next he was looking like a ravenous beast.
I was getting tired of everything, getting tired of being treated like trash, being treated like I shouldn't have been born. "But what is the way out? How do I escape this life" I asked myself as I thought so hard for the perfect solution to my predicament.

The black-tinted sports car honked as it got to the gate of Daisy's house and immediately, the gates flew open. The car drove in and parked at the garage.
"Hello sir." One of the guards greeted the owner of the car as he alighted.
"Hi. Is she in?" Sorin asked the guard.
"Yes, sir. She is." The guard responded.
"Great." Sorin said as he made his way into the house, meeting different guards and maids, who bowed in respect as he walked in.
He got into the sitting room and made himself comfortable.
"Ma'am?" One of the maids called as she got to Daisy's room.
"What is it?" She asked, angrily.
"Mr Sorin is here to see you." The maid answered and immediately, Daisy sat up on her bed.
"Tell him to come in." She ordered, her voice now less hostile.
"Okay, ma'am." The maid said, and Daisy could hear her footsteps fading as she walked away.
She immediately gladly organized her bed and adjusted her clothing and hair.
"What are you doing?" She asked herself in hushed tones, "Why are you happy? You should be angry at him and not smile right now." She said to herself as the realization that she was excited to see Sorin despite what had happened earlier, hit her.
She took her seat on the edge of her bed and crossed her legs. She sat elegantly and put up a front, like she did not care, waiting patiently for him to come in as she typed away on her phone.
In a few minutes, she heard her door open and the scent of his magnificent perfume filled the air, that it took a whole lot of self control for her not to throw herself into his embrace.
"Hmmmmmm....." He sighed, "Someone is in a bit of a mood." He said but she didn't respond.
"Babe? Don't tell me you are still angry." He said but she still played deaf and dumb, focused solely on her phone.
"Babe? I'm talking to you." He said again, this time standing right in front of her face.
"Who? Me? I didn't realize you were talking to me." She said.
"Really? Come on, Daisy. We both know you know I'm talking to you or who else is here?" He asked as he took her phone from her and stared deep into her eyes.
She tried to look away but he held her face softly and planted a kiss on her lips, making her smile but the smile immediately disappeared.
"Leave me alone! You think you can cheat on me and come back here with a kiss and that's all? You must be a joker!" She said and stood up to change position.
"Cheat on you? Babe! I have never cheated on you." He said as he followed her closely.
"Liar! I caught you cheating on me and you have the guts to lie right in my face? Unbelievable!" She yelled.
"Come on, Daisy! It was just a harmless hug!" He retorted.
"Such a harmless hug." She mimicked him and hissed, turning her back at him.
"I'm serious, it was just a harmless hug." He said, trying to defend himself.
"Why were you giving her a "harmless" hug in the first place? It's because you love her already and you want to dump me!" She snapped at him.
"No! That's not true. There's a reason behind it and I wasn't in the right frame of mind." He explained and walked to face her.
"What was the reason behind it?" She asked but he turned away.
"Exactly my thoughts!" She yelled and threw herself on her chair.
"Look babe, I might not be able to explain the reason behind my actions for now, but I can assure you that I'm not cheating on you and I don't love that girl. I only married her because of my parents and you know that." He explained.
"I don't believe you." She said, and he sighed.
"I know you don't believe me but trust me, I'm not lying to you." He assured her and leaned in for another kiss but she turned away.
"Babe, I haven't forgotten our plans. In fact, I'm going to give her a divorce on our one year anniversary which is just a few months away from now." He explained, and Daisy's eyes lightened in hope.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yes, really. You know I love you and I will do anything to make you happy. I will divorce her and we'll move to somewhere else to live happily. Since we have different branches of our businesses, it won't be a hassle. He said further, and every single word he spoke excited Daisy that she could not hold in her excitement.
"Yess!!!!" She squealed and jumped at him and they began to kiss so passionately.
