I tried to keep myself mentally prepared as best as possible to meet with Henry while the elevator was going up, it hurts so much that I had to keep a secret from Travis.

The elevator opened, and I headed towards Henry and he later suggested we went to his apartment which disagreed to but he refused to let me go until I accompany home because what he was going to show me was there.

we arrived at the door and rang the doorbell, A man appeared and opened the door, took a breath looking at Henry and the man who opened the door before I entered.

As soon as I entered, I could already sense that something was amiss, Henry sat down on one of the couches in the living room, sipping a drink he had gotten and smiling towards me.

I noticed a woman and her child there I recognized them to be Tyler's wife and child that detail sunk in as to how he got my contact in the first place.

" Come and sit, let's have a drink together." he said .

I approached but paid attention to the woman and child. I noticed they might be feeling unwell based on breathing.

" If you captured them because of me I'm already here let them go already.

Henry smiled " That's not how things work , my darling , if you are worried that I would kill them , don't be. I gave my word that if you came no harm would befall them and you did.

"Take them to where I instructed earlier." Henry instructed the man who carried them out.

After they left, I confronted Henry " Alright, I'm here, what do you want from me?"

Henry sat down his glass and rested his elbow on his knee, clasping his hands in front of him and resting his chin on them.

" it's quite simple, Ayanna, I want you to Travis believe that you are leaving him on your own to be with me. And then you will get married to me. I want you to break up with him and file for a divorce.

" You're absolutely crazy. He won't fall for that. I have no reason to leave him and be with you."

Henry seemed annoyed by what I had just said.

" I don't care how you do it. Just convince him, it will be the poor little brother Of Travis who would pay the price."

After saying that, he gestured with his hand, and two men came out of a room, bringing Timothy, who appeared to have endured a severe beating.

I tried to go towards Timothy, but Henry stopped me.

" If you do as I say and behave , I might even let him go if you ask nicely"

" No, Ayanna, don't listen to him. I don't know what this asshole is asking for but don't do it , you can't do what he wants. Timothy said and immediately received a punch the stomach, causing him to fall to his knees due to the weakness.

" Henry, Please, enough already," I was almost begging him to stop hurting Timothy.

"Take him where I told you to"

Henry ordered them to take Timothy out of the apartment and was left alone with me. Henry stood up and went near the window and I followed.

" You will do as I say or you will have to pay the consequences I might even bring in Irene or the surrogate let's see if you would be able to live without them.

I realized trying to convince him Henry was a waste of time. Now I needed to calm down and think of a way to keep my family safe and make sure nobody gets hurt as well.

I had already tried to convince him in every way, but I hadn't succeeded; " I've already told you Henry, Travis won't fall for this."

" And I've already said that I don't care what you do to convince him, you're a great talker, I wonder what happened to your boldness since you got married. I mean look at your clothes"

I looked down and could see a little red light shining on my clothes. I didn't even need extra information to know that this was a laser light.

"it's exactly what you are thinking, not only will Timothy's life depend on you but your entire family, if you can't convince him, the sniper up there has orders to shoot him, so try to be convincing."

I couldn't think of a way out of this situation . everyone's safety depended on me.

" Even if you were going to threaten me you shouldn't have involved my child."

Well I need something more viable maybe I would add the surrogate to it. but since I'm not heartless I would let you go back to your family, once the surrogate gives birth to the baby, file for a divorce and don't attempt to take custody of any child. I can't take care of anyone's baby, you have to give birth to mine.

I don't even know what happened I started laughing and he looked at me puzzled.

" You know Henry I was actually taking you serious there, until you mentioned that I would have to carry your baby if you really did good digging you would know I can't get pregnant."

He just smiled. "The doctor said it might be impossible-emphasis on might-but you can get pregnant. It would just be dangerous for you."

"Well, I never said I planned on keeping you alive," he continued coldly. "I could choose the baby over you and let you die. It's that simple."

I was shocked at his words. "You see, the difference between you and him? He wouldn't let me go through that. That's why we got a surrogate. But with your stupid mindset, you're so clueless."

"I've said my piece, Ayanna. You can leave. I'm giving you some time with your family."

"Spend all the time you want. There are seven months left before Allison Brown gives birth to your baby. Who knows? I might change my mind before then."

I couldn't believe this. How the hell did I end up meeting such a person?

"I know what you're thinking. Our first meeting-I already knew about you and Travis going way back. I just wanted to make him jealous using you."

That means he knows about Travis changing his face!

"I purposely asked for you that night at the party. So, what do you think? I know everything, darling."

So, was I supposed to clap for you, huh? Henry, why are you targeting our family? It's not like we've done anything to you! If this is about that night at the party, I'm sincerely sorry," I begged.

But to my surprise, he started laughing hysterically.

"Did... did you really think all this was because of that stupid night? Don't flatter yourself. This has nothing to do with that. Travis has something that belongs to me, and I intend to make him suffer for taking what was rightfully mine."

"What exactly did he take from you? I need to know. I'll ask him to give it back. Was it the mall?"

"Ah-ha, so you do know about the bet proceedings. Then you must also know about the money I invested for free. You and Travis really don't keep secrets from each other, do you?" he said with a smirk.

"Wait... what money?"

"You were there that night. The bet was that I would proceed with the investment and give up one of my companies."

I was dumbfounded. Travis never mentioned anything about money.

"You look lost. Oops... seems he didn't tell you about that." He chuckled before adding, "Well, that's not the reason. When the time comes, you'll find out.

For now, you can leave. Spend all the time you want with your family. When I want my request fulfilled, I'll call you."

I walked toward the sofa to pick up my bag and turned to leave-but before I could take another step, he was suddenly behind me. And then, he kissed me.

Fury surged through me. Without thinking, I slapped him-hard.

"Even if
you want to threaten me, don't you ever in your miserable life kiss me again!" I spat.

He just held his jaw, smirking, as if amused by my reaction.

I stormed out of the apartment clearly angry, I had no idea why he had done that.
