Chapter 64 The Invitation
“Every day she goes to drop her daughter at school, then after she goes to the E&A company and the only time she leaves the office is at 4pm when her daughter is closed from school, then she takes her daughter home” Erik reported to his boss.
Fernando went through the photos of Ana and her daughter that were secretly taken. Ana’s face was shown but her daughter's face did not show in any of the pictures because anytime she carries her daughter she makes sure to cover her face by placing it on her shoulder and covering her face with her hand.
“Is that all”
“She only went to few places a few times like when she went to the court house”
“Count house” Fernando raised his brow
“Yes, she is a lawyer”
Fernando was surprised “Ana was also a lawyer. The similarities are just too much to avoid” Fernando said.
Erik nodded “I’m beginning to think the same sir” Erik could not help but say because the similarities were just too much. How can another person look exactly like a dead person?
Fernando looked at the little girl she carried in the photo “She has a child and her child is six years old. Ana had died six years ago” Fernando said as he clenched his fist tight.
He was suddenly interested in knowing this child.
“Find a way for me to meet her. Book a business appointment” Fernando said.
That is the only way he knows that he can approach her.
Erik nodded “I will do that right away. Anything else boss?”
“You can leave,” Fernando said.
Erik bowed his head and left the office.
On his way to his desk. The secretary came with an envelope in her hand.
“Sir, someone brought this from E&A Tech” the secretary handed it over to him.
Erik collected the envelope and read what was written on it. It was an invitation to the E&A branch opening event.
Erik smiled “Alright, I will take this to him”
The secretary wondered what made the assistant who has not smiled for years suddenly smile. It was just an invitation.
Fernando heard a knock on his office door and wondered what his assistant came back for.
Erik knocked before opening it and going in.
“What is it, I told you I want to be left alone”
“Yes boss but I know you will love this” Erik walked to the table and handed it over to him.
“It’s an invitation to a business invite from E&A”
Fernando quickly opened it and saw that his name was written inside and it indicated that he could bring his partner.
“I do not think there will be need to get an appointment with them since you are invited and is asked to bring your partner, so Miss Silvia will go with you”
Fernando could not understand why Emiliano would want to send him an invitation when they both do not like each other. “Why would he want to send me an invitation?”
“To do business with you. Every company wants to do business with the king of the business world, which is your boss. I think he realized that doing business with you will take their company to the next level. And this is an opportunity for you to meet this Ana. I find it suspicious that Mr Emiliano knows someone that looks like Ana”
Fernando looked at his assistant and agreed what he said. He had not yet thought about the fact that Emiliano knows someone that looks like Ana. Or did Ana have a lost twin sister that he doesn’t know about and that she didn’t even know about? He was beginning to think that would be the case.
The event will happen this weekend and he will definitely be there. Like his assistant said, this is an opportunity for him to get to know Ana and interrogate Emiliano about who she really is.
That evening when he returned back home. He was greeted by Silvia who jumped on him.
“Fernando you are back” she smiled and kissed him on the cheek.
Fernando pushed her away from his body.
Silvia looked at his face and noticed he looked happy. She was very surprised since she has been trying for the longest to make him happy all these years but didn’t succeed. He always comes back home with a sad and angry face but today was different.
“What’s the good news?”
“What good news” Fernando walked past her and headed to his office.
Silvia followed him behind.
He got into his office, pulled his suit and his tie and the first two buttons of his shirt, then sat on his chair.
Silvia walked to him and sat on the table facing him.
She was putting on a night gown that was revealing but yet Fernando was unfazed as usual.
Silvi frowned in disappointment, she put in the effort to seduce him every night but yet he didn't even get aroused.
She clenched her fist tight and gritted her tight.
Tears gathered in her eyes but she fought it back. For 6 years Fernando was yet to forget Ana. Even after she removed Ana in the picture, she was still able to steal her man from her.
She thought if Ana was gone, Fernando would marry her. But he did not, he had found out about her fake pregnancy, it had shattered him so much that he drove her out but she had threatened to kill herself and even created a scandal.
Her parents had died in an accident so she had used that to emotionally and psychologically blackmail him and he had allowed her back into the house. But things had changed between them. They stayed in separate rooms. She had known he only allowed her to stay because he felt pity for her and because she made him guilty about her parents death.
To the world, she was still his fiancee and acting wife but the truth was that he had broken their engagement after her deceit and ended their relationship. They were now roommates but all these years she had tried to get him back but did not work.
Ana was the cause of all this. That woman came into their lives and made Fernando stop loving her. Maybe she needs to also kill Ana spirit before she can erase her from Fernando's mind.
“What do you want?” Fernando asked
“Silvia touched his chest “You Fernando, it is you I want and you know”
She tried to kiss his lip but he stopped her.
“Do not let me drag you out of here Silvia. So stop and leave” he said.
Silvia's eyes watered “By now we would have been married and have kids running around the hou….”
“Shut up!!!!” Fernando shouted that it made Silvia jump in shock.
