Chapter 54 On One Condition
Emiliano was happy that she had finally woken up. He anxiously tapped his hand and looked at the watch.
It takes 3 hours for the train to get to the town but suddenly the time feels slow.
When he finally arrived, he took a taxi to the hospital and rushed to Ana’s room.
“Ana” he panted when he got out of the room.
Ana turned and looked at him.
Emiliano's heart sank when he saw the emptiness in her eyes. There were no emotions, no tears, nothing.
He walked closer to her and sat down. The doctor must have told her everything and it seems like she already went to her mother and sisters hospital room to look at their situation.
“I’m sorry Ana, I’m so sorry” he said.
When she woke up she had wished everything that happened was a dream. That their house did not catch fire and that she was not kidnapped. But she woke up and saw that it was all true. That she has lost her father and her mother and sister were partly burnt.
What did she do to deserve this, who did she offend? Ana thought to herself but no words came out.
She had cried so much when she saw the video of the fire and cried when they were about to kill her. But why could she not cry now, her eyes were empty.
She wanted to cry and weep but no tears. She could only clench her fist tight in anger. The only thing she felt was anger.
“I need to find out who did this to me and my family. I need to kill them!! I need them to get burnt too!! Ana screamed.
Emiliano pleaded for her to be calm.
Ana slapped his hand away “I should be calm!! After all that has happened!! I should be calm!!!?”
“Emiliano shakes his “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, please forgive me. I should not have said that”
Emiliano hugged her tight “I promise, I will make sure to find who did this, I will make sure you have your revenge. We will find who did this together”
Ana finally cried out loud, she wept so much for hours. He allowed her to wet his clothes with her tears.
He was able to leave the room after she slept off.
Emiliano sat down on the bench outside and stared at the number he just dialed.
He had promised himself years ago never to call this number or have anything to do with that family any more. Thinking about them brought him bad memories he’d fought to forget for years now.
But then he has to help Ana find out who did all this. He needed to help Ana seek revenge.
He pressed the call bottom after convincing himself that this was for Ana.
Emiliano clenched his fist when he heard the voice of the old man he dreaded so much.
“This is unexpected. What do you want” the old man asked authoritatively and in anger.
Emiliano swallowed “I need a favor grandfather” Emiliano said.
The old man sneered “You are so arrogant as always”
“Please,” Emiliano said.
The old man was surprised he was pleading “Do you have a gun pointed in your head? Cause that is the only way the Emiliano I know will be pleading”
Emiliano sighed “I need you to find a killer for me, grandfather. Someone I know almost died and lost her father and her other family members got half burnt in a fire”
The old man raised his brow “Wait a second, I saw a news story a few days ago of a family that suffered from a fire. Is it the same?”
“Yes grandfather, please help me” he did not have enough connection to catch who did this. So he needed someone powerful. He is an illegitimate son of one of the powerful families in the country. He had promised himself not to contact them ever again in his life but he was asking this because of Ana. He wants her to get her revenge and his family's connection can help them find those remaining kidnappers and from there they will find out who did this.
The old man was silent for a while “On one condition”
“What condition?”
“That you return back”
Emiliano clenched his fist tight. After what the Blanco’s did to him and how they treated his mother, he wanted him to come back? He and a lot of siblings battling for inheritance, he did not want to be part of such battle and because he despised them so much for what they did to his mother”
“No”
The old man gritted his teeth “Then this conversation is over!!”
“Please grandfather, it’s not something hard for you to do” He is a hacker, but those kidnappers were good at hiding. He could not trace them, so he needs his grandfather's military connection so the military can help him track them since they possess such advanced technology that is not opened to the public.
“Than agree to my condition”
Emiliano clenched his fist “fine, I will return”
“You are on record, so you can't go back on your word”
“I won’t”
“Good, send my assistant all the details you have, we will carry own from there”
Emiliano ended the call and ran a hand on his hair in frustration. He had no other choice.
