Chapter 79 Let Me Be Your Personal Secretary

Shirley couldn't help but enjoy the sight of Helen's frustrated and helpless look. This was exactly what she wanted; Helen's anger was like music to her ears.

With a sly grin, Shirley picked up the leftovers and said, "I'm taking this food to your fiancé. Who knows, maybe we'll end up making a baby."

As she turned to leave, Helen grabbed her arm, her eyes burning with fury. "Shirley! If you lay a finger on Kenneth, you'll regret it."

Seeing Helen so worked up only made Shirley more determined to go after Kenneth. Helen had never been this mad before, no matter how bossy she usually was.

Shirley chuckled, "Regret? Sure, but you better spread the word, or how else will people know he slept with me!"

Helen glared at her, teeth clenched.

Seeing Helen this angry, Shirley decided to back off for now. There would be plenty of chances to use Kenneth against Helen in the future.

Ignoring Helen, Shirley headed to Kenneth's room. She stopped at the door, looked back at Helen with a bright, taunting smile, and waved the food in her hand, just to rub it in. Then, she pushed open the door and walked into Kenneth's room.

Helen let out a scream, her anger boiling over. She stared at Kenneth's door, her nails digging into her skin, not even feeling the pain, her eyes filled with pure hatred.

Fuming, Helen stormed out of the hospital, jumped into her luxury car, and threw the lunchbox onto the passenger seat. No wonder Kenneth hadn't even glanced at the meal she had spent all morning preparing.

That morning, Anna had heard about Kenneth's injury and hospitalization and found out which ward he was in. Thinking it was a great chance for Helen to get closer to Kenneth, Anna had the housekeeper buy the freshest ingredients and cook all morning.

With high hopes, Helen had brought the carefully prepared lunchbox to the hospital, hoping to win Kenneth over. But Kenneth had only given the food a cold glance and showed no interest in eating it.

Just when she didn't know what to do, Kenneth asked, "Ms. Johnson, what have you been up to lately?"

Helen, excited, thought Kenneth was genuinely interested in her and casually lied, saying she was treating Terry's daughter.

Kenneth stared at her. "How about we set up a dinner with Terry?"

Helen had eagerly agreed and immediately scheduled a dinner with Terry for the next week. Setting up the dinner was just a phone call away. She was willing to do anything to make Kenneth happy.

Frustrated, Helen picked up her phone to call Anna, hoping she could deal with Shirley. But then she hesitated, realizing Anna would likely just tell her to endure it for the sake of the bigger picture and wouldn't be able to do anything to Shirley.

Helen gave up on calling Anna and dialed another number. "Find out who Shirley's been hanging out with lately. I want the info in ten minutes."

"No problem, but shouldn't you be here with me tonight?" a man's voice came from the other end of the line.

"Fine, I'll come over after you find out," Helen replied, gripping her phone tightly.

Helen was so consumed by anger that she completely forgot Anna's warning to stay away from these men. All she wanted was to see Shirley humiliated.

Her phone beeped with a message from the man: [Found it. The guy Shirley's been hanging out with lately is Wade, the cousin of the president of The Thompson Group. They even had lunch together today.]

[But he's got a flight to Aidamore tonight. Here are some recent photos of them together.]

Helen opened a photo of Shirley and Wade. She sneered at the picture, took out another phone, typed something, and then put the phone back in her bag.

Within minutes, her phone started ringing non-stop. She knew her plan was about to come to fruition; Wade would soon find out about Shirley's relationship with Kenneth.

When Wade and Kenneth found out they had both been with the same woman, Kenneth would cut ties with Shirley, and Wade would be disgusted and break things off with her too.

Shirley would lose both her sugar daddies at once, and with Kenneth angry, she might not even survive in all of Frostholm. That was the price Shirley had to pay for trying to steal Kenneth from Helen.

Meanwhile, the news of the president of The Thompson Group being injured quickly became the top trending topic, drawing a lot of attention.

In the ward, Shirley opened the food containers, and the aroma filled the room.

Kenneth, lying on the bed with his eyes closed, said coldly, "Why are you back again?"

"It seems someone came to see you." Shirley pretended not to know Helen had been there.

Hearing Shirley's voice, Kenneth quickly opened his eyes, momentarily stunned. He thought that after he told Shirley he couldn't give her what she wanted, she wouldn't come back.

Yet ever since she left, he couldn't stop thinking about her. Kenneth knew Shirley was a money-hungry woman with ulterior motives for her sudden interest in him.

But last night, he couldn't help but think of their memories together, her saving him from the men in black, and their intimate moments in bed.

Seeing his stunned expression, Shirley couldn't help but tease, "Your expression suggests you've been expecting me."

Kenneth glanced at her, then at the food on the table, which seemed to be from a restaurant.

When Helen had come earlier, he hadn't felt hungry, but now, seeing the food Shirley brought, he suddenly felt his stomach growl. He reached for the fork beside him, but pulled at his wound, causing him to freeze in pain.

Seeing him in pain, Shirley smiled gently. "Don't move. I'll feed you!"

She sat on Kenneth's bed, picked up a spoon, scooped a piece of meat, and put it in Kenneth's mouth.

Seeing Kenneth eat so heartily, Shirley was in a good mood and jokingly said, "Considering my exceptional performance in rescuing you and bringing you meals, why not contemplate appointing me as your personal assistant?"
