Chapter 82 The Seed Of Revenge
It was a cold evening and Aniya visited Wilson. She had tried all she could to reach him but he kept ignoring her. She decided she to visit him, which he agreed to when she made mention of Amanda.
Although his security man allowed her in without stress, she waited for a long while at the door, the chilly breeze cutting through her.
When the door opened, Wilson was standing at the entrance, his hands still on the door and with a stoic expression.
"Go on, I have less than five minutes to spare," he said with no concern.
Aniya hesitated for a moment, taking in the somber atmosphere and of course, Wilson's rude behavior. "Is it the case that the Xi boys weren't raised properly or Amanda had really messed with your lives? It has to be one of the two."
"Now you have less than four," Wilson said, his voice devoid of emotion.
Aniya sighed before she continued. "I wanted to talk to you about Amanda," she began, carefully choosing her words.
Wilson's eyes darkened. "There's nothing to talk about. She made her choice and I've accepted it. And if you ask around, she is completely out of our lives."
"You think? Aniya interjected. "you claim she is and yet she still has such a hold on you and your brother. I know how bad she hurt you too but you still suck because you let her go without paying for what she did."
"That's enough talk about Amanda." Wilson snapped, a sharp edge to his tone. "If you have something else to say, spit it and if you don't, help yourself out." He said, ready to close the door any minute.
"What if I know how to make her pay?" Aniya said without hesitation, stopping Wilson from slamming the door in her face.
Wilson scoffed. He walked a step closer to her. "The last person that said something similar is now in the grave. Watch your mouth."
"Because she killed her." Aniya snapped.
"No, she fell from a collapsing building." Wilson interjected.
"No, she killed her." Aniya insisted. She looked around before she continued in a low tone, "Wilson, I have made my findings. Amanda was the one who reported the case. What do you think they were both doing in the building a day after Mabel exposed her wicked acts? And guess what? The first detective to get there is now Amanda's boyfriend."
Wilson paused for a moment, trying to make sense of what Aniya said. He bought every word so he opened his door wider so she could come in.
"Make me understand. What are you trying to say?" Wilson asked once they got in?
"Amanda killed Mabel. She called her out claiming they should talk and then pushed her down the building, called her boyfriend to help her clean the mess up. Being a detective, it was easy for him to cover everything up." Aniya explained.
Wilson sighed, his frustration mounting. "That made sense but Amanda wouldn't do something like that."
Aniya fixed Wilson with a determined gaze. "Wilson, think about it. Amanda had a motive. Mabel exposed her misdeeds, and she knew her life would crumble if the truth came out. Pushing her off that building was a way to silence her."
Wilson's eyes narrowed, conflicting emotions crossing his face. "See, Amanda was my girlfriend for a while. I will place my strong bet on her. She can't do something like that."
"That is exactly how she wants you to feel and she is winning." Aniya snapped. "She presented herself like a goddess to you and your brother and you are both buying it. This isn't even her first murder."
Wilson was puzzled. "What do you mean it is not her first murder."
"Her first murder was Mr. Kenny, an employee at the Xi hotel." Aniya said.
"Wait, the same Mr. Kenny who died?" Wilson asked in shock.
"Exactly. She was having an affair with him. I guess things didn't work out well between them and she killed him in a hotel but just like Mabel's case, her boyfriend covered it up and framed an innocent man for his death." Aniya explained.
Wilson paced the room, his mind racing. "I need evidence, Aniya. I can't just believe Amanda did all of these without proof."
"I came prepared" She responded, handing him a brown envelope. "I have been gathering information discreetly." She added while Wilson went through the papers.
"If you have all of these already, why are you here? What do you need from me when you can just go ahead and deal with her with all of these?" Wilson asked, pointing the papers to her.
"Because you deserve to know and to act." Aniya responded. "I heard Mabel was your girlfriend before she died. Don't you want justice for her? With everything Amanda had put you through, don't you want her to be at your mercy?"
Wilson scoffed. "That is not why you are here. You can't be that generous to me when you know nothing about me"
"That is wrong. I know a lot about you except the fact that people say you are dumb. I have not seen that so far. You questioned me a lot more than a dumb person would do." Aniya responded.
"Thanks but why are you here?" Wilson asked, less concerned about Aniya's praises of him.
"Well, who would believe a word from me? I can't just come into the picture and say thrash about Rowan's ex-girlfriend." Aniya stated and Wilson completed her statement.
"So you need me to tell the story as a victim of these" Wilson pointed the envelope to her once more.
"Perfect!" Aniya exclaimed.
Wilson dropped the files on the table. He clenched his fists as he paced the room. "If Amanda won't be mine, there is no point protecting her. I can as well ruin her as she messed with me" he thought.
He turned to Aniya, "let's do this then"
"Good" Aniya exclaimed again. "8.pm tomorrow at Savilks court. See you there." She said as she walked back to the door immediately.
"Wait a moment" Wilson called out to her when she reached the door.
"Aren't you supposed to be Rowan's new girlfriend? You know he will have your head if he finds out that you are digging into Amanda right?"
Aniya chuckled. "Amanda would be long gone by then so why not?" She responded.
