“Why?” Rhiannon asked with a frown as she had thought she had at least two months to prepare herself and also make an achievement so that his parents would not think that she wasn’t good enough for their son.
“It will be my mother’s birthday. We are wanted there,” he said then looked at her.
When he saw the worry in her eyes, His gaze softened, and said, there is no need for you to get worried about whether they will approve of you or not. What matters is whether I want you or not. They don’t have a say on who I can and will marry.”
Rhiannon stared at him upon hearing those words and a question appeared in her mind but she didn’t dare ask for fear of getting broken.
“I know what you want to ask, whether I really want you to be my wife and we will never divorce, right?”
His question made Rhiannon halt and look at him in astonishment as she wondered whether the guy could read minds or whether the fact that he could tell as he was connected to her as his wife.
He chuckled and shook his head upon seeing the look on her face.
“I am the one who asked you to marry me, not the other way around thus how can you wonder whether I want you or not? Haven’t I shown my sincerity enough?” he asked and Rhiannon bit her lower lip as she couldn’t believe it.
She wanted to say something but she remained silent as she didn’t want to have a lot of expectations only for them to be crushed when they arrived at the big city.
“You have but I am very aware of how rich families opt to be. Your parents might think that I am unworthy of being your wife and make things difficult for both of us till you decide to divorce me. Also, maybe when you meet another woman who is more beautiful, more successful than me, you may want them and ask me to leave your life,” she said causing Octavius to halt as his eyes were cold.
“Rhiannon, I will never divorce you! You are my mind and the only person who will ever be my wife. Also, so what about that influential and beautiful woman, I have grown up in the city and I know every one of them. If I didn’t fall in love at that time, do you think that now is the time I will?” he asked coldly.
Rhiannon could tell that he was unhappy and extremely mad at her but what could she have done? She is a woman who always needs reassurance that such a thing could never happen. influential
Although the two got married together not because of love, they were aware that they were more comfortable with each other and currently liked each other. How then could they easily give up on another person?
“Also, with your identity as the Sanders family granddaughter, don’t you think you are worthy of my family? The Sanders are on the same level as our family thus I don’t think that Dad and Mom will disagree on our marriage. They will be related especially Mom knowing that you are her friend’s daughter,” he said when he saw that his words still didn’t assure her anything.
He even started wondering whether their marriage was the reason she was like that and her refusing to go to the city.
Rhiannon shook her head and said,” No! That identity can’t be unmasked! I don’t know who my mother’s enemies are thus I need to be cautious. That identity can be brought to the public when I can defend and protect myself.”
Her words made Octavius speechless as he wondered if Rhiannon wanted to grow herself till she could protect herself from her mother’s enemies, then what was hid work as her husband. Nonetheless, he didn’t ask as he felt there wasn’t any need to know it. He could just always show up when she needed help till she got used to asking for his help and depending on him.
If Rhiannon knew that she had been misunderstood, she would have panicked after all, she was quite dependent on Octavius and that’s why there were things she could do In his presence and others she could deal with for herself."
They continued talking as they descended the stairs
“Rhiannon, where are you guys going?” Ruby asked with a frown when they saw them dragging a suitcase and traveling bags on their shoulder.
Octavius was stunned that they had already arrived downstairs as he had initially thought that since the bag was too heavy, there was no way he would be able to arrive there with it. No matter how much he had practiced martial acts, he felt that he didn’t have enough strength to carry it making him wonder what was in there.
“I am going back to my husband’s house, that is my home and where I am supposed to be,” Rhiannon said in a serious tone causing our family of four who were sitting in the living room to look at each other.
“But you promised that you would guide us during your stay here but now you are leaving,” Raven said in a sad tone making Ruby nod her head agreeing with her.
“Girls, there is no way I could leave my husband alone at home. Also, my nanny is there waiting for me. I don’t want her to be so worried about me!” she said.
“Yes, I remember what kind of a promise I made and I will be visiting the company,” Rhiannon told them with a reassuring smile.
“I can forget what I promised and although I am leaving, I will always have other ways to fulfill them. It isn’t like I am leaving the city you know. I am still around,” Rhiannon said wiping off the sadness and worry that was on their faces.
Their other had told them that Rhiannon might go to the city very soon and they didn’t believe any of her words.
Although they knew who Octavius was since they were also in the line of business, they didn’t believe that a man like him wouldn’t listen to his wife. They gave their mother an eye telling her that they were right, Rhiannon had a say in their marriage and Octavius had to listen to whatever she wanted.
Seeing their look, Melda chuckled while her husband shook his head.
“Rhiannon, Octavius, you are welcome here anytime you want,” Joel said with a smile.
