Everything happened very fast and they didn’t see what happened. They only heard a scream and the bodyguard passing them in haste.
“Why are you screaming as if you have been burnt or slaughtered?” one of the police officers asked in a displeased tone as he closed his ears due to the man’s loud screams.
“He broke my finger. He needs to be arrested for injuring me,” Mr Clark said as he tried his best to stop crying and be brave.
Kaylee was so happy when she heard that.
‘How can they do such a thing in front of the police? As the boss, I am sure that she would be arrested! Yes, that must be the case.’ She said to herself inwardly.
“Who gave you the right to point fingers at my wife? He was just teaching you some little manners on how to behave,” Octavius said coldly causing one of the policemen to sweat.
“You! How can you do that in front of us? Or do you think that we can’t arrest you?” Another asked angrily.
“Arrest me? Can you? Do you think that your small station is enough to detain me?” Octavius asked coldly then glanced at the policeman who knew him and sweating.
“Sir, I…” he wanted to apologize but when he saw Octavius' glare, he remembered that there were some things that he couldn’t say in front of the Clarks.
To prevent mistakes from happening and their station being affected, he whispered something to their head whose faces turned pale after hearing the man’s words.
He glanced at Octavius. “Sir…”
He shut up immediately when he met with his glare.
“Also, who saw my bodyguard breaking his finger?” Octavius asked shamelessly.
Everyone kept silent as they didn’t see the bodyguard’s actions very clearly as the man was a grandmaster in the martial arts.
“But I am telling you! He has indeed broken my finger, he also confessed everything at the beginning,” Mr Clark said when he saw that no one was taking his sides.
“I? When did I say that my bodyguard broke your finger? Also, so what if I said those words, do you have evidence to prove it?” Octavius asked coldly.
The other police officers remained silent when they saw their leader and the other officer was silent and didn’t dare question the man. They weren’t fools and could tell that the man’s identity must be extraordinary and there was no way they were going to get in trouble with him because of the Clarks.
Mr Clark fell broken when he saw no one was standing up for him. Even those whom he was fighting for didn’t care.
“Sorry, Dad. But you already knew how ruthless my bodyguards are as you tasted them yesterday. You shouldn’t have done such an offense in their presence as they are so protective over me,” Rhiannon said in an apologetic tone putting Mr Clark at a loss.
“As for your question, you cheated on my mom, at least am not cheating on you right? Also, you sided with your wife and daughter when I was asking for my belongings, you didn’t stand on my side or tell your wife to return my mother’s kinds of stuff. Instead, you said that she is dead and her things should be taken by others. Who do you think between my mother and you I will choose?” Rhiannon said shutting her father up.
He lowered his head and regretted his actions so much but what could he do when the deed has already happened?
“If you love them dearly and I am a nobody to you, then why shouldn’t I do what I am doing? Also, I haven’t done anything wrong, I just said what I thought. I haven’t forced you to do anything. Look at the people you are fighting for. They haven’t asked whether you are in pain or not. Yesterday, Kaylee refused to help you; today, she and her mother don’t care about you. All they cared about was whether they would be imprisoned or not. Can’t you how the mother-daughter duo are?” Rhiannon said coldly as she stared at her father who had his head lowered.
Kaylee clenched her head into a fist as she stared at Rhiannon but she didn’t dare look at her in murderous eyes or any evil gaze as she was afraid of Octavius.
Mr Clark lifted his head and met his wife’s eager eyes, making his eyes darken as Rhiannon’s words kept ringing in his ears.
“There is a necklace-ring pair missing. You better bring them out before I make you all regret but for now, you can be taken to the station, you will tell me where they are after spending a couple of days there as I know that if I ask for them right now, none of you is going to give them to me as your hearts are so wicked and don’t want to see me in happiness,” Rhiannon said coldly causing Kaylee to lose her mind.
“No! There is no way I am going to the station and be detained! Dad, please help me, aren’t I your favorite daughter?” she asked loudly as she walked towards her father.
Mr Clark stared at her coldly. “Yes, you have always been my favorite daughter. Unlike me who has two daughters who I have to choose between when both of you need something from me, you only have one father but still you can’t side with him or help him when he needs your help. You only remember him when you need help. I am not going to use my shares just to save you or be arrested on your behalf,” Mr Clark said coldly breaking Kaylee’s and Mrs Clark's last hope.
Kaylee glared at Rhiannon with deep hatred and ran to her in full speed planning to knock down the latter and cause her to break her spine.
Just as she was about to reach Rhiannon, a kick landed on her stomach causing her to knock the wall behind her.
