Bonus - The Billionaire's friends – Paul and Madison – Twelve
Paul’s POV
Dinner was amazing. It’s always great to get together with friends and share laughs and good conversations. It seemed to lift Amelie’s spirits as well, which we were all happy about. Madison and I called it an early night, as we had to start packing our suitcases. After playing a couple of games of cribbage, we retired for the night. We woke up this morning, once again, tangled with each other. We are currently on the way to the airport to fly to Los Angeles and then connect to New York.
“So, did you have a good time on Maui?” I asked Madison.
“The second half of the trip was amazing,” Madison grinned. “Thanks for taking care of me and letting me stay in your room.”
“No thanks needed. I just wish I knew what your father was doing earlier so I could have gotten you away from him sooner,” I advised.
“Wish that too,” Madison stated. “Paul, I think we should keep our connection lowkey with the group for now. Just pretend for my dad.”
“Why?” I questioned, puzzled.
“Because if we don’t work out, I don’t want them to have to choose between us,” Madison expressed. “This is the first time I have ever had girlfriends. I don’t want to lose them.”
“I see your point,” I nodded. “If they ask, I’ll just say we are taking things slow.”
“Thanks, Paul. You’re the best.”
We drove most of the rest of the way in silence. Madison was looking out the window at the scenery, and I was responding to work text messages and emails. I wanted to get them finished before I got on the plane so that I could give all my attention to Madison. It’s amazing what a few days can do. I already felt so comfortable with Madison, unlike any girl I had ever been with before. Maybe the lack of sex forced us to bond in other ways.
We arrived at the airport and checked in.
“Are you hungry?” I asked.
“Yes, I could actually eat,” Madison replied.
“Good, because I’m craving Loco Moco at Sammy’s,” I grinned, rubbing my stomach.
“I have no clue where you put all the food you eat, Paul. It must go to your big feet,” Madison teased.
“Well, you know what they say about men with big feet. Big feet, big…”
“Do not finish that sentence, Mr. McConard,” Madison chastised.
I laughed loudly.
“Let’s go get you some food before your big feet get you in trouble,” Madison smirked.
“Oh, now you’re a comedian, huh?” I chuckled.
“Just staying on top of you,” Madison stated.
“Fuck, yes. Be on top of me, Madison,” I joked.
That earned me a smack on the arm. “Paul!” She giggled and walked away quickly.
“Oh, now it’s on!” I chased after her.
She squealed and walked faster. Of course, being 6’3” has its advantages, long legs. I reached her and scooped her up in my arms, both of us laughing hysterically.
“Aww, young love,” a lady said from the seating area where I picked up Madison.
“It reminds me of us, Greta,” a little old man said.
“Oh, Herman,” the lady said as she kissed her husband.
“How long have you been married?” Herman asked.
“We were on our honeymoon,” I stated.
“Paul,” Madison giggled.
“Remember, the honeymoon doesn’t have to stop,” Greta grinned and hugged her husband.
“Of course,” I beamed.
I placed Madison down gently, took her hand in mine, and brought it to my lips.
“Let’s go eat, my love,” I said, smiling.
Greta and Herman held hands and sighed.
We walked towards the restaurant.
“That wasn’t really necessary,” Madison giggled.
“They were just so thrilled with us being in love. No harm, no foul,” I advised.
Madison sighed, “I want that kind of love one day.”
“You will,” I informed her. “You deserve that kind of love, Madison.”
She had an uneasy look on her face, like she didn’t believe what I was saying.
“I mean it,” I said, lifting her chin.
My stomach decided then to growl like a lion.
“Holy moly, Paul!” Madison uttered. “A wee bit hungry?”
“Yes,” I replied. “I have a very high metabolic rate.”
“Can you give me some of yours?” Madison exclaimed. “I look at food and gain weight.”
“Pish-posh,” I scoffed. “You are gorgeous, and your body is kicking, Madison.”
“You don’t have to blow smoke up my ass, Paul,” Madison said, rolling her eyes. “I know I have to lose twenty pounds.”
“Don’t you dare,” I declared. “I like you curvy, and you’re not overweight. So, stop saying you are.”
“But,” Madison started to say.
“But nothing, Madison,” I stated.
We walked up to the restaurant, and I could see a small smile on her face. Did she honestly believe she was overweight? Did her dad poison her about her weight as well? Every new thing I find out about how Mr. Duval treated Madison makes me want to beat the living crap out of him. Breathe, Paul. Calm down. You have Madison away from her father; that’s what counts. Now you need to show her she matters and have her believe in herself.
We were sitting in the restaurant when I heard my name being screamed.
“Pauly!” the female voice said. I turned around to see Morgan and Dutton.
“What are you guys doing here?” I asked, puzzled.
“Well, we were supposed to go back home on Dante’s jet today, but he needs to stay a couple of days longer,” Morgan answered. “I need to be back for a fashion show, so we booked tickets on the 2:00 pm flight.”
“Really?” I exclaimed. “That’s our flight!”
“That’s awesome,” Dutton expressed. “We got the last two first-class tickets. I thought we’d treat ourselves.”
“What row?” I questioned.
“Umm,” Morgan said, looking at her phone. “Two A and B.”
“We’re two C & D,” I advised.
“Airplane party!” Morgan squealed.
Madison and I laughed at the same time.
“What?” Morgan asked.
“I was going to kick Madison’s butt at cribbage on the plane,” I said, smiling.
“Oh, look at you, you party animals,” Morgan giggled.
“That’s just how we roll,” Madison stated.
We all laughed.
“Hey,” Madison said, motioning to the seats at our table. “Join us for lunch.”
“Phew,” Morgan breathed out. “I thought you’d never ask.”
