Chapter 50
Brian punched the steering wheel of his car in anger. He’d lost Damien’s car. How did this man know that Brian was following him? He cursed as he hit the wheel repeatedly. Brian turned to go back to the office. There was no point in continuing to chase Damien. It was pointless.
“I’m going to see Victoria again. Tomorrow can’t be a failure.” Brian was determined.

“Why don’t we just go home?” Emily protested as soon as Damien parked his car in the basement of a shopping mall. Ignoring her, he got out of the car. He circled the car and opened the door on Emily’s side.
“Come on,” Damien tilted his chin to signal Emily to come out.
“You want to keep wearing that dress?”
“I asked you to go home.” Emily came out grumbling and looked at the front of her vomit-soaked dress. Emily was embarrassed.
“Let’s go home.” Damien rounded his eyes at the sound of Emily’s pleading voice.
“No. I wanted to give you a bonus for acting earlier and at Victoria’s house yesterday,” Damien tugged at Emily’s hand. He ignored the girl who was trying to get away from him.
“We’re in public, darling.” This remark successfully stopped Emily from moving. She had to behave. That’s what Damien meant. They entered the elevator.
“You’re free to buy whatever you want, but let’s get you some clothes first.” Damien took Emily to a high-end clothing store as soon as they got off the elevator.
“You’d better wire the money to my bank account,” Emily muttered. She’d rather save money. Damien pushed her toward the women’s section.
“Choose as much as you want. You want to dress casually, right?” Emily nodded.
“I’m being generous. You can wear that outfit today.” Emily snorted at Damien’s words. But she did not refuse. The girl started to look around. She was drawn to a white shirt with a famous brand on it. Seeing that, Emily hoped that she could become their brand ambassador one day.
She looked at the price tag. Emily’s eyes bulged as she saw the zeros on it. She started to return the shirt, but Damien grabbed it out of her hand. The man snapped his fingers. In an instant, the clerk was there. This is the difference between rich and poor when buying clothes. The upper classes don’t look at the price. Unlike the lower classes, who think the money they spend on branded clothes is better spent on daily necessities.
“Hold this,” Damien handed the clothes Emily wanted to the clerk without looking at them. The clerk followed them wherever they went.
“Enough,” Emily said, not wanting to waste any more money.
“You haven’t picked out any pants yet, Emily. Do you want to keep wearing the dress?” Not wanting to wear the dress any longer, Emily picked up the pants she had been eyeing.
“Show my wife to the dressing room,” Damien ordered the clerk.
“She’ll wear them on right away.” The clerk smiled at Damien and then turned to Emily.
“Over here, ma’am.” The sales agent kindly led the way to the dressing room. While waiting for Emily to finish, Damien picked up some clothes for Emily. He would take Emily to another store later.
Emily approached Damien as soon as she had finished changing. Damien watched her without blinking an eye. Emily still looked beautiful in her casual clothes. The man looked away as soon as he realized what he had just thought. He looked back at Emily as soon as he was able to control himself. He saw the paper bag in Emily’s left hand.
“What’s that?”
“That’s my dress from earlier,” Emily replied as she held up the paper bag.
“Why don’t you throw it away? It’s already dirty.” Emily shook her head. It was easy for Damien to say.
“It can still be washed. I’ve only worn it once.” It’s expensive. How can you afford to throw away such an expensive dress? Emily said to herself. Damien decided to let Emily go this time. He handed the clothes he had chosen for Emily to the clerk and took out his credit card.
“You didn’t have to buy so many clothes for me,” Emily exhaled harshly.
“You could have just given me the money.” Emily’s repetition of these words made Damien wonder. Did Emily like money that much? Why was she always talking about money?
“I can buy the shirt in another store. With this money I can buy hundreds.”
“This is a gift from me. Take it,” Damien said, not wanting to argue with Emily. They were silent as they waited for the clerk to return.
“You shouldn’t have done this,” Damien closed his eyes when Emily brought it up again. Damien’s patience had its limits. Discussing the same thing over and over again had never happened in Damien’s life.
“I did my job. The money you gave me at the end of the contract was more than enough.”
“Can you shut up?” Damien’s voice was low.
“Will you just accept my gift or would you rather I silence you with a kiss?” Damien asked with a look that challenged Emily to say the same thing again.
“What’s so hard about accepting a gift from me, Emily?” said Damien after a sigh.
“Accept it. I’ll transfer money to your account if it will calm you down,” Emily rounded her eyes when she heard Damien say that.
“You seem to like money more. So consider me giving you a double gift.” Emily said nothing more. Then she would be grateful for this abundant nourishment.
“Here are your purchases, ma’am,” the clerk approached them. Emily started to take the three paper bags she was holding, but Damien did it first. He also took his credit card.
“Thank you for shopping in our store, Sir and Madam. We look forward to your next visit,” the clerk said, friendly to Damien and Emily. The girl just smiled. The chances of Emily returning to the store were nil. She didn’t want to spend her money on expensive clothes.
“Why don’t you buy clothes, too?” asked Emily after they left the store.
“I already have a regular store. I just need to send them the clothes I want, and they deliver them to my house.” Rich people are different. The girl stopped as Damien led her to the shoe store. She paused before entering the store.
“Why are we here? We should be going home.” Damien looked at Emily for a long time. Why did that girl always ask so many questions?
“You need shoes,” Damien said flatly.
“But there are plenty of shoes in the penthouse,” Emily protested.
“Think of this as your day. You’re free to choose whatever you want.” The shoes in the penthouse were the ones Victoria was referring to.
“Come on in. The shoes you like will be different from the ones in the penthouse.” Emily did not move. She had resisted not only because of the high prices, but also because no one had ever taken her shopping and bought her anything. Damien was the first, and she found that weird.
“You’re not going to ask for all this back when the contract is over, are you?”
