Olivia - It's always been him

Olivia - It's always been him
I took him in. No signs of a hangover he was undoubtedly nursing. Perfectly pressed suit. Not a hair out of place. Clean shaven. Coffee in hand. That meant he woke up some time ago.

"Did you sleep at all?" Billy deadpanned, handing me a cup of coffee that he seemed to pull out of thin air.

Yup. He knew. He was freshly showered. That meant he used the bathroom. Our shared bathroom. My kimono and Harmon's suit on the floor. The shirt I was wearing. No makeup to hide behind today. Love bites and light bruises on full display. I drew the collar of the shirt closed anyway, unable to help the shame flowing over me.

"I was just about to see if Harmon was up yet," I ventured, just in case the genius tech billionaire in front of me had turned into a dumb ass overnight.

Willfully ignorant due to his blind faith in Harmon and I for the past two days, maybe. But Billy wasn't stupid. Even he couldn't ignore the writing on the wall.

"You already know. You slept in the same room. Take the coffee, Olivia," Billy's voice said, low and unreadable.

"We should talk," I said, carefully taking the paper cup from him.

"Not another word. Get dressed. We're leaving," he said sternly.

"Billy—" I tried, my lip trembling as my mind raced for the right words to say.

I fought to hold back the tears prickling at my eyes.

"Make a fuss and I'll send in the former Navy SEALs, hand picked by Harmon himself, to have you forcefully removed in nothing but that shirt. Think carefully before you react to my words. I will have them beat the shit out of your new boyfriend if I have to. It's twenty against one. Do you think he can take them all, Olive?"

Images of Harmon sprawled out on the floor next to a dead Yamazaki, barely able to catch his breath, flooded my brain. Followed by memories of his raw knuckles from his interaction with Copycat and the huge bruise left behind by the Yamazaki incident. Then there was all the sex we'd been having. He'd taken way too many hits for a fight with one Navy SEAL, nevermind twenty.

My hands formed frustrated fists as I bit my tongue and did as I was told. Every step away from the suite was torture. My feet were encased in lead.

"This isn't a good idea. Harmon said—" I pepped up, turning towards Billy to talk some sense into him once the security detail had escorted us to the car.

"I don't give two fucks what the man banging my sister behind my back thinks, Olivia. To his credit, I suppose it wasn't behind my back last night, was it?" Billy's angry voice filled the car.

"I'm sorry we didn't tell you about us and also about last night, but things have changed," I tried to reason with my Billy but he wasn't having it.

"Us? Olivia, he broke up with Macy five seconds ago. You know how they are. They could get back together tomorrow. There's no us. He's fucking rebounding. I just never thought he'd use you to do it," Billy spat back at me, seething as he said the words.

"He's not using me," I retorted in a huff. "They broke up because of me. Every single time. It was always about me. If you minded your own business—"

"What? You'd have hopped into bed with a womanizer long ago?"

"You're a fucking hypocrite. You were as big of a whore as either of us. Get off your fucking high horse. What else was there to do but fuck a bunch of random people when your brother forbade the love of your life from being with you?"

"You are not in love, Olivia. And he sure as shit isn't in love with you. He wanted someone to fuck until Macy calmed down. You just happened to be nearby," Billy said harshly.

That was one step too far. Without thinking, I slapped Billy across the face.

"Ten years. I've been waiting ten years for this. Had you not intervened, it would have happened four years ago. I know him better than even you. I have seen sides of him even you haven't. Don't you fucking tell me how I feel about him," I cried, tears of frustration flowing readily.

Billy stared at me in shock, laying a hand on the cheek I had just slapped.

"Olivia, he's a dangerous man," Billy said with a sigh, his eyes softening momentarily as he watched me cry.

"You didn't think he was a dangerous man when he was cleaning up your messes. Helping you build your company," I said in a small voice, touching the pendant around my neck with the tips of my fingers. "There's only ever been him. No one else, Billy. It's always been him."

"There will be other people, Olive. I love Harmon. You know I do. If it were just him tossing Macy aside like she never mattered… I can't just stand by and watch you die for him."

"He said I was only safe with him. There was a time you thought so too. A time when you trusted his judgment. Whatever you think of us—"

"His judgment is clouded because he's infatuated with my baby sister's pussy. The Harmon I know never would have touched you given the circumstances, even if he were in love with you. He would have waited. He would have—"

"I started this. I made him sleep with me again. He wanted to stop after our one night stand—"

"After your what?" Billy roared, punching the head rest of the seat in front of him.

"You're letting your ego get the better of you. If Harmon said travel isn't safe—"

"You really should have listened," said a familiar voice as the partition of the car came down slowly. "Hey Mr. Money Bags."

Only when my eyes landed on her face did I realize the car hadn't been moving this whole time. We'd been at a standstill.

"JR," I said, my blood running cold.
