Chapter 291 The Call with Adam
Chapter 291 The Call with Adam
Theron's POV
I was reviewing quarterly reports in my study when my phone rang. Adam's name flashed across the screen. Fox had already briefed me about Adam's arrival in The Haven just hours ago.
"Hello," I answered, setting aside the financial projections I'd been analyzing.
"Theron." Adam's voice was clear but cautious. "I have a question for you."
I leaned back in my leather chair, curious about what he wanted. "Go ahead."
"Do you know the domain masters of The Haven? All three regions?" he asked bluntly. "Or have information about them?"
"Why the sudden interest?" I asked, keeping my tone neutral.
"No particular reason," Adam replied with forced casualness. "Just trying to understand the landscape here."
"I see." I swiveled my chair to face the window, collecting my thoughts. "The Dark Domain master is Marcus. He's unpredictable, ruthless, and extremely territorial. Not someone you want to cross unnecessarily."
I paused, letting that information sink in before continuing.
"The Peace Domain is run by Sebastian. He's more reasonable, generally fair in his dealings. Operates with a certain code of ethics, if you will."
Adam remained silent, absorbing this information.
"As for the Forbidden Domain master..." I continued, "he's rarely in The Haven these days. Most operations are handled by his deputy, Ian."
"I see," Adam replied after a moment of consideration, his voice betraying his concern. "Then it sounds like dealing with The Haven's branch of the Randall family and Victor won't be easy?"
So that was it. Adam was planning to move against Victor Hayes and The Haven's Randall faction. A smile tugged at my lips. His goals aligned perfectly with what I'd been wanting to do myself.
"If you want to deal with them, do it without reservation," I said firmly. "You don't need to worry about interference. My people will provide unconditional support and assistance." I paused briefly before adding, "As for the Dark Domain... well, sometimes you can't avoid making enemies."
The line went silent for a moment. I could almost see the wheels turning in Adam's head.
"The Sterling family in The Haven," he finally said. "What's your connection to them?"
He'd figured it out—or at least suspected. There was no point in hiding it.
"I'm the current head of operations," I admitted simply.
I heard Brandon's voice in the background, saying clearly enough for me to hear, "The Sterling family is under The Haven's Forbidden Domain."
"If that's the case, won't your involvement cause complications?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.
"Don't worry," I assured him, relaxing back into my chair. "The Sixth Domain doesn't micromanage these matters. They don't control their families as tightly as the Dark Domain does."
I briefly explained the political structure: "The Dark Domain tries to turn every family into their puppets. The other two domains don't operate that way. Families under their jurisdiction maintain more independence."
I stood up and walked to the window, looking out at the skyline as I added with conviction, "Besides, we're family now. And frankly, Victor dared to set his sights on Laylie. Even if you weren't going after him, I would have taken care of him eventually."
The protectiveness in my voice was unmistakable. No one threatened what was mine—especially not my wife.
"Regarding the plan to deal with Victor," I continued, "you should rest today. My people will meet with you tonight to discuss the details."
I made it sound simple, perhaps too simple. Adam wasn't easily reassured.
"You have a strategy?" he asked, his tone grave.
"Yes," I confirmed with a nod, even though he couldn't see me. "I do have a plan."
Truthfully, taking down Victor Hayes wouldn't be particularly challenging for me. After marrying Leila, I had both the resources and motivation to eliminate this threat. But I'd been biding my time, waiting for Adam and his brothers to make their move.
Eliminating the Hayes family was straightforward, but the situation was complicated by the Randall family branch in The Haven. This presented an opportunity—one where the Chicago Randalls could establish themselves in The Haven, potentially even absorbing the local Randall branch entirely.
I'd always been possessive and protective of what I considered mine. And now that Leila was my wife, there should be only one Randall family—the one led by her father, my father-in-law.
Adam seemed satisfied with my confidence, not pressing for further details. He understood that sometimes, less said meant more action.
"We'll talk more tonight," I concluded. "Focus on resting and preparing. This will be handled properly."
After ending the call, I remained at the window, mind already mapping out the moves needed to dismantle Victor's operation while strengthening Adam's position. The coming days would reshape The Haven's power structure—and ensure that those who threatened my family would understand exactly how costly that mistake had been.
