Chapter 143

Chapter 12

You say you love the rain

but you open your umbrella.

You say you love the sun

but you find a shadow spot.

You say you love the wind

but you close your windows.

This is why I am afraid

When you say you love me.

The room in which she woke up was mostly escond in darkness, except the soft glow of a night lamp burning in a corner, but there was no mistaking the lavish luxury that seemed to surround it.

Be it the large, majestic bed, that seemed softer than a cloud or the cold sheets upon it, wrapped around her like a silk cocoon or the 62'' flat screen on one wall and a full length glass window on the other.

So, there was little doubt left, as to where she was. 'It must be Oliver's house, supposedly.' She scoffed, internally.

'So where was he? The lord and owner of the house? Dropped her, here like a sack of hot potatoes and ran off, had he?' She grimaced.

But as it turned out, he hasn't.

Something moved near the night lamp and she shrieked so loud that it was enough to alarm the whole neighbourhood....and continued to do so, with her eyes closed in fear, until a wide palm clamped shut upon her mouth.

"Rouse the dead, why don't you?" Came his irritated and husky voice near her ear.

That finally made, Mia shut up. "That was you? You scared me to death! and why the hell were you sitting in the dark like that?"

"I was simply watching over my wife." He replied in the same husky tone, as he caged her against the headboard, closing in on her.

"I am not your wi...." The rest of the words died in her throat as she dejectedly looked at the man in front of her and he 'the bastard', throatily laughed.

"Now that you do recognize me as your husband and since...we are already in our marital bed, let's start with your wifely duties then, shall we?"

And even in the dim lighting of the room, there was no mistaking the rakish grin upon his face.

She gasped as her throat went dry.

And with no warning whatsoever, he pressed closer to her comely form near the headboard, bending his head low.....their lips a mere inch apart, about to kiss his bride.

But before he knew it, with a surprising gusto of speed, the same said bride kicked him so hard on the shins, that he was no longer on the bed but lying flat on the ground.

"Ahck.." He grimaced, while rubbing the back of his head.

"Wifely duties did you say?" Mia smiled sarcastically at him as she got off the bed and kneeled beside him on the ground.

"Then, it's also a wife's duty to put her husband on the righteous path.... and you, my husband just learned your first lesson - never-never corner your wife like that. Especially, this wife!" She pointed at herself giving him a wide, tight smile.

"Because depending on my mood you can end up with anything....from a few broken bones to a fatal head injury."

"Why you little minx!" Within the next moment he had grabbed her by the waist and pulled her down on the floor along with him.

Well, he had always been a competitive man and he had never-ever lost in a game and he wasn't about to start losing now even if the opponent is his gorgeous, sexy bride.

"Ouch...What do you think you are doing?" She shrieked, trying to roll over, or roll away from his hard, muscular body beneath hers that seemed to pulsate with contained sexual charge.

'Their entangled bodies and limbs seemed like two soft noodles in a bowl, completely entwined together floating on the sour soup. Or...or like the nuts and raisins meshed into the granola bar...'

'Oh Goddamn it! Stop thinking about food right now, Mia!' She chided herself. 'And focus on getting out of here.'

"Let me go!"

Because truthfully, it was too much for her senses, which went into an 'obscene and lewed imaginative mode' as soon as he came closer to her like this.

"Please let go, we can't be doing this!" She panicked, trying to punch and kick him away at the same time.

Which did nothing but to strengthen his resolve to hold her closer.

"Hmm...Now it's time for lesson number 2., that if an when your husband goes down....you, my wife, will go down along with him."

"Understood?" And with that he kissed her right there with their bodies entangled on the floor while the night befell outside.

She could not tell how long it had been since they started this mad dance of tango but she was no longer on the floor now, but lay esconed on that soft bed of his. The top of her dress was now tied around her wrists, constricting them to the headboard.

Perhaps only a few minutes have passed r perhpas hours had gone by.

She was no longer sure of anything but the feel of his long fingers that roamed freely upon her skin, his lips trailing a series of wet kisses, down a path that made her panic and shiver in anticipation at the same time.

Sometimes when he went a bit too far, out of her comfort zone and she would panic, he would stop right there and kiss her over and over again, to chase her fears away.

At other times, he would simply hold her close to his chest and murmur her name like a protective chant while his fingers deftly traced a path through her silky locks.

All in all, it seemed like an enchanting dream, something surreal and yet so sharp and contrasting with anything she had ever felt before.

And she never wanted to go back....She wanted to have it all and she wanted to have it now.

And she would have had it, if not for the intercom that buzzed loudly through the apartment.

"Sir, there's a delivery for you from the mexican resturant across the street. Shall I send it up?"
