(Devan's POV).
I closed my document as I watched him walk into my room. Soon after I met Vivian, I asked Phelan to find out about Vivian's life and all the information about her.
"Did you get the information I wanted?" I asked him.
"Yes, sir," he replied and handed me a brown envelope.
I opened it and saw that there were several pictures of Vivian and Adam, as well as a picture of the man Vivian had been with last night. There were several sheets of information about Vivian.
"Tell me about the information you got about her," I ordered.
"Vivian Harrow. The second child of the Harrow family. She has an older brother named Tristan and a younger sister named Adrienne. According to the news, she was in a coma for several years. And was married to a man named Henrick. But he died in an accident when she was pregnant. Her son's name is Adam Alexander."
"Coma?" I raised one eyebrow.
"Yes, sir. She was in a coma for 10 years. There's not much information about Vivian Harrow because the family was secretive about her life. Only recently did she emerge after her father passed away."
I read the information on the paper. She is the largest shareholder in the L-CO company. I think she's the Harrow family's favorite child. While they had a son, they only gave him half the shares he should have. But, why is Tristan taking care of the company and not her?
"But why doesn't she manage the company?"
"She gave the rights to Tristan and focused on her boutique."
"Boutique," I muttered. Of all the jobs, why a boutique?
It had been Freya's dream for a long time. Having a boutique because she loves designing clothes, especially the beautiful dresses she always displays in her boutique. I even took ownership of Freya's boutique that she left behind and let Becca manage it. It was the only thing I could do to atone for my sins since she left.
"Didn't you get any important information besides this? I mean, anything strange about Vivian's life?" I asked him.
"Strange? You mean about her romance?"
"I don't know, whatever it is. Tell me, was she ever in a relationship with a man after her husband passed away?" I asked curiously.
"I don't think so, sir. I think she's forgotten her husband yet. Their marriage took place before Miss Vivian had her accident and fell into a coma. Maybe that's why she's not ready to be in a relationship with any man. But rumor has it that many businessmen want to get close to Miss Vivian."
At some point, I felt jealous when I found out that many men were trying to pursue her. I had to do something so that no man would ever get close to her or have a relationship with her. Because the only man she could be with was me.
"Sir, are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine," I groaned. "Well, you can go now," I said to Phalen.
He bowed respectfully to me before leaving the room. I stared at the picture of Henrick, Vivian's husband. There were no wedding photos on the internet. Not even on their social media. Their lives seemed to be private. Maybe because Vivian was in a coma, that's why their family didn't want the news to spread like a virus.
But what makes me suspicious is why this seems intentional. Private all information about Vivian's past. The only difference they have is her hair color and her body which is now fuller. But still slim with her hips...
Damn.
I groaned. At a time like this, why do I have to think something dirty about her!
This is driving me crazy.
She hasn't even replied to my messages since last night. Is she deliberately ignoring me? Or does she not know it's me? I'm talking about dinner. Without putting my name at the end of the message, she should have known it was me.
She makes me uneasy and somehow, my focus keeps going to her and my heart tells me that she is Freya.
I looked at the picture again and an idea popped into my head. I quickly grabbed my cell phone and called Jason.
"Jason, it's me," I said as soon as the call connected.
"Look who's calling me. What are you calling me for all of a sudden?"
I rolled my eyes lazily as I heard his annoying tone.
"You're getting married, right?" I asked.
"Yes. Of course, I am. Why? Don't even think about taking my woman, you bastard!"
I clucked in annoyance. "Stop being crazy. And I'm not interested in your woman."
"Then what do you want? Why suddenly ask about my wedding?"
"When?"
"Um, the end of this year. In about three months," I heard him grumble. "Why? Just tell me why! Is it that hard?!" he shouted in annoyance.
I blinked my eyes.
"Have you picked out a wedding dress for your wedding yet?"
"Not yet. WHY, DEV?! WHY? SHIT! IS MY VOICE STILL NOT LOUD? RAISE YOUR VOLUME, ASSHOLE!"
"Come to Serene's boutique to look for your wedding dress there."
"Oh, shit. You want to be my sponsor?"
"Hm. No problem. I'll cover all the costs. But you have to ask the owner directly to design your wedding dress. Do you understand?"
"Why? Do you know the owner? Is this a newly released boutique?"
I growled in annoyance. "Jason, you talk too much. Just do it."
"Why? I need to know more details about the boutique that will design my bride's dress. It's important because this is my first wedding. And it will certainly be my last."
"You're crazy," I swore, "let me know when you get there." I immediately ended our phone call and sighed heavily.
I checked the messages section again, but there was still no reply from Vivian.
Damn it.
Is she really ignoring me?
(You're not going to run away from your responsibilities, are you, Miss. Vivian? I've already paid handsomely for our dinner.)
And still no reply.
(Don't ignore my messages, Miss. Vivian. It makes me sad.)
