Chapter 57 - Feel Sick?

(Freya's POV).

After leaving the cemetery, Jason took me to his apartment. I kept crying all the way home. My face was already deathly pale, my body felt weak, my lips were dry, and my throat felt like it had a thorn in it. It made it difficult for me to swallow my saliva.

I kept feeling the tightness in my chest. This was very painful. My hands were shaking, still not believing that Theo had left me. He was gone... Forever.

When we reached the apartment, Jason quickly put his arm around me to help me walk. He kept watching my condition with a worried expression on his face. I hadn't even said anything to him. How I felt so grateful to have Jason beside me.

"Here we are," Jason said, taking me out of the elevator. We walked to one of the doors and entered the apartment.

Jason led me to the L-shaped couch in front of the television, told me to sit there and he squatted down in front of me.

"Your face is pale," he said, looking at me. Wiping away the tears that were still falling. I felt my eyes sting and feel swollen.

But I didn't say anything. Just kept silent with a blank stare. While Jason grasped both my hands tightly.

"I'll prepare some food and then I'll take you to the room and then you can sleep."

"I'm not hungry," I replied in a quiet voice. I swallowed hard.

"But you need to eat. You haven't eaten anything since yesterday." I could see the worry on his face. "Just wait a little while. I won't be long."

I shook my head. Pulling back his hand as he was about to stand up.

"I want to sleep."

"Fey."

"Please..." I pleaded with my hoarse voice.

At least, I won't feel the pain of losing Theo if I sleep. Forgetting everything for a moment because it feels like I'm about to die.

"Then, have a little drink. I'll get it for you. Stay here!" He ran quickly to the kitchen.

When he returned, he brought a glass of water. He sat next to me, helping me hold the glass.

"Drink slowly," he said.

I coughed. Choking on my drink. I felt Jason's hand gently rubbing my back repeatedly, wiping away the water that spilled from the corner of my lips.

Then he put the glass he was holding on the table. Helping me walk and going to his room. Carefully laid me down on the bed and covered me up to the neck.

"I'll wake you up for lunch. You need to eat," he said, glancing at the wall clock in his room.

I just nodded, feeling it was necessary. I was too weak to speak much. Even when I spoke, my throat ached. And all that came out was my powerless voice that sounded hoarse and heavy.

"Go to sleep." He covered my eyes with his palm, and I felt his other hand patting my body. Like a father putting his child to sleep.

I bit my lower lip. Feeling so broken. My tears flowed without me realizing it. I gripped Jason's hand tightly and tried to close my eyes. Just for a moment... I wanted to get rid of all my burdens for just a moment.

I don't know how long I was asleep, but when I opened my eyes, Jason was no longer beside me. I looked at the clock on the wall and it was noon. I tried to sit up, but I was immediately attacked by a throbbing feeling in my head.

I groaned in pain while touching my head. The dizziness made everything in the room spin around. And I went back to sleep. Making sure that the swirling pain and dizziness disappeared before I decided to sit up again.

Just then, Jason walked into the room. Seeing that I was awake.

"Are you awake?" he asked, immediately sitting on the edge of the bed. I nodded my head in response. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just a little dizzy." My voice was hoarse and heavy. I closed my eyes as I swallowed.

Jason's hand touched my forehead. Then helped me to sit up.

"Can you sit up? Do you feel dizzy?"

"I don't think so," I replied. Although there was still a little dizziness left, I forced my body to sit up. Jason put a pillow behind my back so I could lean back comfortably.

"Eat first, then take your medicine."

Jason then left the room. After a moment, he returned with a tray containing a bowl and a glass of drink. I watched him as he sat beside me, placing the tray on the bedside table. He held the bowl of porridge. He blew gently on it before feeding me.

"Eat it slowly," he reminded me.

I opened my mouth, trying to chew it. But instead, I felt a queasy feeling in my stomach. I almost threw up, but I quickly covered my mouth with both hands. Jason looked at me with his eyes widened in surprise, including me.

"Fey?"

"B-Bath.." I couldn't continue my words because the nausea grew even more when I swallowed the porridge. I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. Dropping my body to the floor and vomiting all the food in my stomach in the toilet.

I kept vomiting and coughing. While Jason ran after me and crouched behind me. I felt the panic from his touch and voice as he asked about my condition.

"Fey, are you okay?"

I vomited again. My body felt so weak that I could only sit on the floor with my arms drooping. I felt Devan's hand repeatedly rubbing my back as I vomited again.

"Fey?"

"I-I'm fine...." I swallowed with difficulty. I still felt nauseous, but my vomiting had eased somewhat. I closed my eyes for a while, trying to take a deep breath. My breathing was labored.

"Are you sure? Should we go to the hospital?"

"No, there's no need. It's just a simple malaise. Take some medicine and I'll be fine," I said, looking at him. I saw his gaze fade. He was really worried about my condition. "Truly, I'm fine, Jason"
