(Freya's POV).
I screamed hysterically. My eyes were blurred by my heavy-flowing tears. I feel like my world is crumbling. Like I've lost half my life. My cries sounded like wolves howling, so painful. like a wolf that has lost its pack. lost in the darkness until there is no way.
"NO, No... It's impossible," I sobbed with my trembling hands. My chest felt so tight that I found it hard to breathe. My mind was in chaos. There was no way Theo had died.
I don't really remember what happened next, it all happened so fast. I rebelled like crazy with tears breaking out. And Devan took me away to the hospital. With me continuing to cry without stopping.
I ran scared through the hallways, occasionally falling, and bumping into some passersby. My body felt weak. I had no strength left. Everything felt dark. I felt like my world had collapsed right then and there. There was no future, no happiness.
There was only the pain of loss that was so suffocating to my chest. To the point that I couldn't tell if it was a dream or reality.
Because when I opened the door and saw Theo lying there lifeless, I fell limp on the floor. I saw Jason coming straight to me, hugging me tightly and bringing me closer to the hospital bed.
Theo, with his pale and icy body, was covered in a white cloth. With his eyes closed and lifeless.
In that instant, I lost my balance. It was so hard to straighten up as if I no longer had a foothold. My body was so weak that Jason had to hold me. Holding me tightly who was crying hysterically.
"No! Theo, open your eyes! Please ... don't be like this. Open your eyes!" I gripped Theo's body. Shaking him with all the strength I had, trying to get him to wake up, but there was no reaction from him whatsoever.
My eyes heated up, my tears falling harder and harder. I could feel his body ice up a little. The face that usually smiled at me was suddenly expressionless and deathly pale.
"Theo, open your eyes. Don't leave me. Please..."
"Fey!" I heard Jason shout as I fell to the floor. Squeezing my chest felt tight. I was running out of breath. My eyes blurred.
The memory of this morning when Theo smiled at me, saying goodbye broke my heart. I screamed hysterically. I didn't know what to do when I saw the only family I had was gone.
I still can't believe that Theo killed himself. Jason told me that he died in our house. Leaving a letter he wrote on the table.
"Letter," I spoke in a trembling voice, looking up at Jason.
He took something out of his coat pocket. And handed me the letter Theo had left behind.
I crumpled the letter in my hand. Opened it with both my trembling hands. I could see Theo's handwriting. How he left his last message for me.
My tears broke even more when I read his voice, a sentence in which he asked me to live a happy life. And apologized for leaving me alone.
My chest hurts. It hurt so much that I could hardly breathe. I screamed hysterically, the fear, the panic, and the deep sadness made me unable to think of anything but the destruction of my life. I lost my precious life and all because of Devan.
I glanced at Devan who walked into the room, expressionless. With all the strength I had left. I pulled myself closer to him. Grabbing his collar with both hands.
"Fey!" I heard Jason shout.
"You killed him! You killed my brother!" I shouted hysterically to Devan. I shook his body. Blaming my brother's death. But he just looked at me with an expressionless face, which made me feel even more devastated.
I felt my hands trembling. The grip of my hands grew stronger along with my hatred and disgust for him.
"Are you happy? Are you satisfied?!" I shouted, "You kept saying you wanted to kill him. And now you've killed my brother for your damn revenge!"
"Fey." I jerked Jason's hand away as he tried to touch me. Ignoring him and glaring at Devan. I hated him so much.
"Are you human? Do you have a heart?!" I snapped in a loud, hoarse voice. My throat felt constricted. "Give Theo back to me, give him back to me!"
"Fey, calm down. Calm down."
"You're telling me to calm down while he killed my brother?" I shouted at Jason. Glancing at him sharply, I felt Devan's hands touch both my arms. Staring at me intently. I lost control and slapped him hard across the face.
"You're a murderer. I swear you'll get your comeuppance for what you've done to my brother," I swore at him with pain assaulting my chest. I gripped the hem of my clothes. Sobbing, biting my lower lip as I watched him just glance at me. Without saying anything else.
My body staggered to the side. I felt my head was very dizzy and throbbing. I felt Jason hug me tightly.
"Are you okay?" Jason asked. I could see the worried look in his eyes. "You'd better get out of here. And please, don't hurt Freya anymore. That's enough, Dev."
I laughed wryly. "Should I die too for you to be happier? For you to be satisfied with your revenge?" I looked at Devan who remained silent while looking at me. Even after all the things that happened, he didn't say a word. Let alone an apology.
I thought everything would be fine. I could live my life without fear and resentment. But I never thought that things would end like this.
I tried to stand up straight, staring at Devan intently. A gaze full of hatred. All my love is gone. And everything must end. For me and him.
"I hate you, Dev. Let's get a divorce.”
