Chapter 52--Wedding Bells
*Amber*
I sit alone in the cozy dressing room, the air filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. My trembling hands clutch the edge of the vanity as I gaze at my reflection in the ornate mirror. It’s my wedding day, and I can hardly believe it’s finally here. Me, Amber, about to marry Ryan—the man who captured my heart and became the father of our beautiful child, Ash. The surreal nature of this moment leaves me breathless.
As my gaze meets my reflection, my eyes well up with tears. The disbelief settles in, coexisting with an indescribable joy that courses through my veins. How did I get so lucky? How did I find a man like Ryan?
My thoughts drift to Ash, our little miracle, who will witness this union today. A lump forms in my throat as I picture him, his innocent smile and bright eyes filled with excitement. He has no idea how much this day means to me, to us. The thought of him being a part of this celebration fills my heart with an overwhelming sense of pride and joy.
Just as I gather my thoughts and find solace in the quietness of the dressing room, the door swings open, interrupting the stillness. In bounds, Ash, with July right behind him. “Mommy!” he shouts, his voice echoing through the room, filled with uncontainable excitement.
I turn to face him, a smile breaking across my face. Ash’s infectious energy fills the air, instantly dispelling any lingering nerves. He rushes towards me, his tiny feet pattering against the floor, and I reach out to scoop him up into my arms. As I hold him close, my heart swells with love.
“Look at you, my handsome boy,” I say, admiring the white suit that fits him perfectly. He grins from ear to ear, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. “Ryan is waiting for you!” he exclaims, his words tumbling out in a jumble of excitement.
I chuckle softly, brushing a hand through his tousled hair. “Yes, sweetheart, Daddy is waiting for us. He can’t wait to see how beautiful Mommy looks.”
July approaches, her warm smile mirroring my own. “Amber, you look absolutely stunning,” she says, her voice laced with sincerity.
I meet her gaze, feeling a surge of gratitude for her unwavering support. “Thank you, July,” I reply, my voice filled with emotion. We embrace tightly for a while, before she pulls away.
“It’s time,” July whispers, her voice filled with excitement.
Taking one last look at myself in the mirror, Ash nestled securely in my arms, I draw a deep breath. Today, everything falls into place—the disbelief, the overwhelming joy, and the anticipation.
I smile at July. “Let’s go,” I say, my voice trembling slightly.

Hand in hand with Ash, I step into the grand hall, the air alive with murmurs and anticipation. The warmth of the space envelops us, and I can’t help but feel a flutter of nerves mixed with excitement. The room is packed with guests, seated and eagerly waiting for my entrance.
As we make our way down the aisle, I glimpse a familiar couple seated in the front row—Mr. And Mrs. Holden. Their presence shocks me for a moment, seeing as they made their disapproval of our union quite obvious. I exchange a brief glance with them, unable to decipher their expressions, and continue forward, focusing on the path ahead.
With each step, the aisle seems to stretch out before me, leading me closer to my future. Ash walks beside me, his small hand clasped tightly in mine. He exudes a sense of wonder, his eyes scanning the room with curiosity. I can’t help but be amazed by his innocence.
And then, as I raise my gaze, my eyes meet Ryan’s. Time stands still as our gazes lock, and I am captured in the intensity of his love. His eyes, brimming with emotion, convey a depth of affection that words cannot adequately describe. In that moment, all the doubts, the disbelief, melt away, leaving behind only a strong certainty that we are meant to be together.
The rest of the world fades into the background as I continue my journey up the aisle, my focus solely on Ryan. The guests, their faces filled with anticipation and joy, seem to blur into a sea of smiles and well wishes. The music swells, creating an ethereal ambiance that echoes the love that fills this space.
The space between Ryan and I close within a few seconds, and I find myself standing in front of him. Our hands entwine, and I feel a powerful surge of emotions coursing through me.
In that moment, I keep my eyes fixed on the man in front of me.
And no feeling in the world could compare to the joy I feel.
