THE DEMAND

Ethan brings Amelia to his room and closes the door. Holding Amelia's hand, he angrily said to her - "I didn't expect this carelessness from you. Have you forgotten why we got married? Because for me, you are nothing more than Charlotte's nanny. You should pay attention to your work better, as it seems your attention has started wandering." Saying this, Ethan shook her hand and went to the washroom.

Amelia's eyes had become moist. Every single thing said by Ethan was hurting her. With tears streaming down her face, she was thinking in her mind - "Ethan is such a selfish, arrogant, and rude person. He doesn't care about my feelings! I was equally nervous seeing Charlotte like this. But who cares about my feelings here?" Lost in her thoughts, Amelia didn't stay there for a moment and went straight to Charlotte's room.

Charlotte was asleep by this time. But Amelia lay down on the sofa next to Charlotte's bed. Her eyes were still moist. For a moment, Emily's name crossed her mind, thinking that she should talk to her. But if Emily finds out about Ethan's behavior, she will surely come here and lash out at Ethan. He had already forbidden her to marry Ethan. So Amelia pushed that thought aside.

Meanwhile, Ethan felt remorseful that he spoke too harshly to Amelia. He must have hurt her. But now, how can he even say sorry? Ethan came out of Charlotte's room. When he opened the door, he saw Amelia lying on the sofa. Looking at Amelia's face, it was evident that she was deeply hurt by Ethan's words.

Ethan didn't enter the room from there. It was lunchtime. When Mrs. Thompson found Amelia, she was with Charlotte in her room. Mrs. Thompson asked Amelia - "Dear, come downstairs and have your food."

But Amelia refused to eat. She only ordered food for Charlotte to be brought to the room. Mrs. Thompson understood that there must have been some conflict between the two, and it wasn't the right time to discuss it.

Mrs. Thompson went downstairs and prepared a plate of food for Charlotte, then brought it to her room. Ethan observed all this. When Mrs. Thompson returned, Ethan asked her - "Why didn't Amelia come downstairs to have food?"

Mrs. Thompson asked Ethan - "What did you say to her? She is very sad and even refusing to eat."

Ethan replied nonchalantly - "One moment of carelessness and on top of that, she gets angry."

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Thompson got a little angry with Ethan and said - "When small children play, injuries happen, and it wasn't Amelia's fault. I saw it myself. In fact, she handled Charlotte very intelligently." You know she was talking to the doctor in the hospital as if she were her mother. And you hurt her feelings. Son, I never say anything about your decisions, but you crossed the line." While speaking, Mrs. Thompson went to the kitchen.

Ethan was now feeling guilty. He had no idea how lovingly Amelia had taken care of Charlotte. It was evening, but Amelia still hadn't come out of the room. It was dinner time, yet Amelia remained in the room.

Once again, Mrs. Thompson had only brought Charlotte's dinner to her room. Ethan started feeling restless. But after the way he had treated Amelia, how could he approach her? Ethan returned to his room after having dinner.

Ethan thought that when Amelia would come to the room to sleep, then he would talk to her. Ethan went to the room, changed, and lay down on his bed. It was 11 o'clock at night, but Amelia was nowhere to be found. She hadn't come

to the room the whole night. It meant that she was sleeping in Charlotte's room.

Now Ethan lost his patience and went straight to Charlotte's room to fetch Amelia. Ethan called Mrs. Thompson to take care of Charlotte. When Mrs. Thompson came running to Charlotte's room, Ethan opened the door.

Charlotte was still sleeping, and Amelia was sleeping on the nearby sofa. Mrs. Thompson went and sat next to Charlotte, while Ethan went and lifted Amelia in his arms. Amelia was still deeply asleep, and she didn't wake up even when Ethan lifted her in his arms.

Ethan entered the room with Amelia and helped her lie down on the bed. However, upon seeing Amelia, he realized that she was likely unwell. Ethan was still unaware of Amelia's condition of low blood sugar, which was causing her current state. She hadn't eaten or drunk anything since yesterday, leading to this condition.

As Ethan touched her hand, he noticed that it was cold. Concerned, he tried to gently shake her and lift her face, but Amelia remained unconscious.

Realizing that he should have attended to Amelia earlier, Ethan quickly grabbed his phone and called the doctor. The doctor arrived shortly after and examined Amelia. The doctor informed Ethan, "Her sugar level has dropped, resulting in very low blood pressure and unconsciousness."

Ethan asked the doctor, "What should I do?"

The doctor advised him, "She needs to be given some sweets immediately. I'm also prescribing medicine for her, to be taken three times a day. Make sure she takes her medicine as instructed and take care of her meals."

Amelia was unconscious, so feeding her anything would be challenging. Ethan went down to the kitchen and asked a servant to prepare a sugar syrup. Once it was ready, he returned to the room without delay.

Contemplating how to make Amelia drink the syrup, Ethan approached her and placed the bowl on the side table. He then lifted Amelia with the support of his arms, ensuring her head was supported, and fed her the sugar syrup using a spoon.

Afterward, he gently laid Amelia back on the bed and wiped her face with his handkerchief. Her face looked pale and lifeless. Ethan wasn't accustomed to seeing Amelia in such a state. She was always lively and engaged in playful arguments with him. Ethan took Amelia's face in his hands and said, "I'm truly sorry, Amelia. It's because of me that you're in this condition. I never knew my words would have such a deep impact on you. Please get well soon."

Ethan called James at his office and asked him to cancel today's meetings. He didn't want to leave Amelia in such a condition. This situation was his fault. Ethan stayed by Amelia's side, sitting there next to her. After about an hour, Amelia opened her eyes, and Ethan was sitting beside her. She was surprised to see him.

In a low voice, Amelia asked Ethan, "What are you doing here?"

Relieved, Ethan replied, "Your health is not well, so I am taking care of you. You shouldn't neglect yourself." Ethan's tone carried both anger and concern, and Amelia responded somewhat irritated, "You don't need to take care of me so much. Even if something happens to me, you can find someone else."

Angry, Ethan said to Amelia, "Don't waste your energy on arguments right now. Your energy is already depleted. We can fight later." Ethan then called Mrs. Thompson and asked her to bring food for Amelia.

Amelia became tense and said, "I need to see Charlotte first. Where is she? She needs to get dressed too. The doctor said so." As she tried to get up after speaking, dizziness overwhelmed her. Ethan quickly grabbed her shoulders and gently made her lie back on the bed.
