Chapter 105

Mint shook her head. "It's still better if Daddy and Papa Jacq are home. And now that you're here, let's play with Papa Jacq."

Jacques approached the father and son—Thassia was behind him, piggybacking and carrying Reigo's son—then he ruffled Mint's hair. "I can't play with you this time, little princess. Your Papa Cloud and I have to buy groceries. Why don't you play with your dad alone instead? You miss him, right?"

Mint immediately nodded, then tightly hugged Knight's neck.

Thorn was just listening, but he knew why Jacques said those words. Jacques was giving the father and daughter some alone time to bond, and it looks like Knight realized that as well because he mouthed 'thanks, motherfucking Marquess' to Jacques.

Meanwhile, his daughter, Thassia, literally launched herself at him from Jacques' back like a monkey. It's a good thing Thorn was able to catch Thassia safely. Even Cassiuz, who was meters away from Jacques, moved his body to catch Thassia. The two were both scared that Thassia would fall.

"Thasia!" Thorn couldn't help raising his voice because of how scared he felt when his daughter just jumped without warning. "Don't do that again. I will ground you. For real!"

Seeing her father's anger, Thassia looked down with a sad face. "I'm sorry, Didi. I won't do it again."

Seeing her daughter repenting, Thorn hugged her softly. "Good. Don't scare us like that ever again, okay?"

Thassia nodded and hugged Thorn around his neck while mouthing 'I'm sorry' to her Didi Cassiuz.

Thorn simply sighed and let her son go home. When Thassia agreed, there were two men, one old and one young, whose faces could not be painted.

It was none other than Reigo and his son. Reigo's son didn't like Thassia to leave, while Reigo didn't want Thassia to leave because his son was going to be a menace again. Reigo was too tired to be a babysitter. That's why the Vasquez family followed Thorn and Thassia to their house.

Thorn's face couldn't be painted while Thassia and Reigo's son were playing at his house. He looked badly at the boy who was clinging to his princess.

"We should assassinate the kid while he's young," Cassiuz, who was sitting on the long sofa beside Thorn, whispered at Thorn. "He's going to be a threat in the future. Look at how shameless that kid is."

Thorn nodded. "I can already imagine what he's going to do to my baby princess. I want to kill him to prevent that from happening, but he's my friend's son." Thorn tsked.

Reigo, who could actually hear the two, sighed and shook his head. Reigo was used to hearing the two men threaten his son. Well, it was understandable since his son was definitely a shameless little fox. Reigo could see what would happen to Thorn's daughter. But nothing is set in stone after all; the future could be different. My son is, after all, a softy when it comes to Thassia. It could be the other way around. After all, Thassia was also a cunning little tigress. And in the wild, tigresses always devour foxes.

Meanwhile, the two subjects of the threats were oblivious and were just playing. No. They're not really playing. It was more like Thassia was playing, riding her toy car, while Reigo's son was pushing the car with all his might. It wasn't playing. It was more like labor. But Reigo's son seemed happy, meaning Reigo was happy as well because he could finally rest.

Thorn gave his friend a bad look when he saw Reigo sleeping while leaning on the single sofa. He was obviously tired, so he didn't wake him up. What happened was that he and Cassiuz became the babysitters for the two. It's a good thing Thassia's babysitter arrived after an hour or so; Thorn was able to cook for everybody.

After lunch, his Cinnamon video called him. She looked so worn out while her face was resting on the table's surface that all Thorn could do was give her a smile.

"Are you okay in there, Cinnamon?"

Hearing his question, Cinnamon started sobbing. "Hoooonnnn... save me. I can't take it anymore. Mama is so strict. She doesn't want me to go home to eat, so I miss you cooking."

Thorn stopped laughing. His wife was just too adorable. "How about I cook something good for dinner with your favorite dessert?"

Cassia immediately stopped sobbing, and her eyes lit up. "Really?"

"Yep. And your brother is here, so come home early."

"Hey!" His Cinnamon was beaming in happiness. "I'll look forward to it then and tell my brother I said 'hi'."

Seeing Cinnamon happy completes Thorn's day. His wife was still the same adorable Cinnamon. Nothing changed, even after becoming a mother.

Thorn sighed in contentment as he bid goodbye to his wife. and with that, even if it was still early to cook for dinner, he started preparing all the ingredients.

After all... I don't want to disappoint my wife.

Meanwhile, Cassia did her best again today to learn from her husband's mother. She didn't know if she deserved to manage her husband's family's business, but she appreciated the trust. That was why she was working hard not to let her family down. It was tiring but fulfilling at the same time because she knew all this was for her husband and daughter.

The whole afternoon, Cassia focused on work, but when the clock struck five, she immediately left the office and went to the parking lot.

She hurriedly drove home. She wanted to be home in an instant. She wanted to see her husband and daughter. Even though it had only been a few hours since she last saw them, she still missed them. When Cassia finally arrived and parked her car in the garage, she excitedly went inside their house, only to stop on her tracks when she saw her family—her husband, her daughter, and her brother—standing near the door like they had been waiting for her to arrive.

Then her husband smiled at her. "Welcome home, Cinnamon."

"Welcome home, little sister," said her brother with a soft smile.

Then her daughter came running to her with her arms spread and a wide smile. "Mimiiii! Welcome home! I miss you!"

With her daughter in her arms, Cassia was speechless for a moment before she smiled widely at her family.

Yes. Finally. I have a family.
