Chapter 152 False Sincerity
Chapter 152 False Sincerity
Not far away, Sophia's delicate features remained flawlessly composed, the scratch on her chin only serving to make her appear more endearing and vulnerable.
Oliver couldn't help but be captivated.
How had he never noticed before that Sophia was so much more beautiful than Clara?
Seeing Oliver's expression, Molly's alarm bells started ringing.
What was this guy planning?
The police told them to call family or friends to pick them up.
Molly immediately pulled out her phone and called Henry without hesitation, "Henry, get to the police station right now! Sophia and I were bullied! That crazy woman, Clara, framed Sophia for theft and then started hitting people. Sophia's face got scratched, and she was bleeding everywhere! I was terrified—please come quickly!"
She deliberately exaggerated, her voice sounding both aggrieved and frantic.
Sophia sighed helplessly. "It wasn't that dramatic. I wasn't bleeding everywhere."
On the other end of the line, Henry's voice immediately turned ice-cold, "Which station? I'll be right there."
Even through the phone, you could feel the sudden drop in atmospheric pressure.
Henry's knuckles turned white as he gripped the phone, the street scenery flying past the car window, yet the speed still felt unbearably slow.
His mind was filled with Molly's tearful words about "face scratched" and "bleeding everywhere." Just imagining Sophia's usually serene face marked with wounds, possibly even wincing in pain, made the fury in his chest burn like wildfire.
"Drive faster."
Meanwhile, Oliver stood in the hallway outside the station, unconsciously clutching a tube of antiseptic cream he'd impulsively bought from a nearby pharmacy, his emotions a tangled mess.
He didn't know what had come over him. Seeing the wound on Sophia's face had somehow compelled him to buy this.
His mind kept replaying those cold yet defiant eyes of Sophia's, and her proud stance when she insisted on calling the police—so different from the gentle, almost submissive Sophia he remembered.
This feeling of being out of control frustrated him, yet he couldn't stop himself from paying attention.
Should he give this cream to Sophia? Oliver hesitated.
Before long, a black Rolls-Royce Cullinan screeched to an almost aggressive stop in front of the police station. The door opened and Henry strode out with long steps, his face dark with fury.
His expression was thunderous, radiating such intimidating energy that even the duty officers were momentarily stunned.
"Henry!"
Molly spotted Henry immediately and rushed over, pointing toward the mediation room, "Thank God you're here! That Clara is absolutely vicious! She planted her bracelet in Sophia's bag, accused her of theft, and turned everyone against us! Then she attacked us first—look at Sophia's face! She scratched it bloody. Sophia could have been scarred for life!"
Henry's gaze passed over Molly and landed directly on Sophia as she emerged from the mediation room.
When he saw the dried but still vivid bloody scratch on her jaw, his eyes instantly blazed with towering rage and heartbreak.
He crossed to her in several quick strides, completely ignoring everyone else present, and carefully lifted her face to examine the wound closely, his voice tight with suppressed fury, "Does it hurt? Are you injured anywhere else?"
His movements were natural and intimate, his eyes practically overflowing with concern and tenderness.
Meeting his worried gaze, Sophia felt a warmth in her chest and shook her head, "I'm fine. It's just a minor scratch."
Oliver stood at a distance, watching Henry's undisguised care and protectiveness toward Sophia, then observing the unconscious softness that crept into Sophia's expression when facing Henry.
His grip on the cream tube tightened involuntarily, his emotions a complex tangle of what might have been jealousy, loss, or something else entirely.
The tube in his hand now seemed utterly redundant and pathetic.
After confirming Sophia was mostly unharmed, Henry's cold gaze swept over Clara and Rowan, who stood nearby looking pale and terrified. His stare was like looking at insects.
He turned to the officer in charge, his voice cutting like ice, "I expect this matter to be handled strictly according to legal procedures."
His words carried absolute authority, declaring that Clara's troubles were only just beginning.
"For malicious false accusations, defamation, and intentional assault, we will show no mercy. The Windsor Group's legal team will be formally involved shortly, providing all necessary evidence and support."
Feeling the oppressive aura of someone accustomed to command, the officer quickly nodded, "Mr. Windsor, please rest assured. We will handle this fairly according to the law."
"The Windsor Group legal team?"
Hearing those words, Clara's legs nearly gave out. She'd only wanted to embarrass Sophia. How had she ended up provoking the Windsor family?
The Windsor Group's legal team was legendary for destroying opponents in court!
Rowan turned even paler with terror, shrinking behind Clara, wishing she could disappear entirely.
The onlookers who'd followed them became even more excited, "The Windsor Group legal team—so Ms. Brown really does know the Windsor Group. Is she going to be Mrs. Windsor?"
"So this man in front of us is..."
The crowd looked at the devastatingly handsome Henry, finally connecting the dots.
"The heir to the Windsor family?"
Oliver stood in the distance, watching Henry take control of the situation with just a few words, that natural leadership presence and protective instinct hitting him like needles to the heart.
He looked down at the pathetic tube of cream in his hand and quietly shoved it deep into his pocket.
In that moment, he clearly realized that the gap between him and Henry wasn't just wealth and status, but also the confidence and the willingness to protect Sophia without reservation.
And he seemed to stand on the wrong side from the very beginning.
"Molly, tell me exactly what happened," Henry called Molly over, which was exactly what she'd been waiting for.
She immediately recounted every detail to Henry, leaving nothing out.
Henry's expression grew increasingly stormy, like gathering thunderclouds.
His icy stare turned toward the others, making Clara and Rowan tremble with fear.
Rowan hugged her head, desperately trying to minimize her presence.
She now deeply regretted following Clara to mess with Sophia.
