Chapter 177

Chapter 177

He'd been in Washington the whole time and hadn't even been back to Atlanta. How could he have possibly gotten mixed up with these people?

While he was still thinking about this, a large hand suddenly came swinging down toward William's head.

But before it could land, William quickly raised his hand, grabbed the man's wrist, and flung him across the room.

Rex's fat body rolled across the floor several times.

"If you want to talk, then talk. Start throwing hands and you'll find yourself dead very quickly." William narrowed his eyes, his voice cold. "I don't like people touching me, especially strangers. Are we clear?"

"I was going to be civil about this, but since you've got a death wish, don't blame me." Rex got to his feet and pulled a knife from his pocket, his eyes turning vicious.

This was just some ordinary guy, and yet William had the nerve to act this cocky right in front of him.

Nora gently tugged at William's sleeve. "William, don't do anything crazy."

"Relax. I'll hold back. I won't kill him." William loosened up his body and waved Rex over. "Come on then. I want to see if you can actually pull it off."

"Pretty bold talk. Let's see whether that mouth of yours is tougher than your bones!" Rex's face flushed red with rage as he charged forward, knife in hand.

He was a big man, and when he ran, it felt like the ground was shaking. By the time he reached William, the sheer force of his presence was almost suffocating.

William just let out a short laugh and snapped a kick straight into his gut.

It hit like a high-speed train, sending Rex crashing hard to the ground.

The impact was so loud that people outside came rushing in.

They all froze when they saw what had happened. What the hell was going on?

Rex was massive, sure, but he was also genuinely dangerous. Even if he couldn't land a clean hit, he could crush someone just with his weight alone.

And yet William was standing there without a scratch on him, while Rex was flat on the floor.

"You've got some nerve putting your hands on the deputy leader." The man at the front grabbed William by the collar and tried to throw him to the ground.

But no matter how hard he pulled, William didn't move an inch.

"Is that really all you've got?" William narrowed his eyes, a cold flash crossing his face.

The man's breathing was already turning ragged under the crushing pressure. Damn, this guy was something else.

Rex, having pulled himself together, pointed at his men and barked, "What are you all standing around for? Get him!"

Everyone snapped out of it and rushed at William.

But the moment they moved to strike, a sharp pain exploded through their stomachs.

By the time they registered what had happened, William had already landed his punch and moved on to the next one.

In just a few seconds, every single one of them was on the ground, groaning.

"How is that possible? I had him." The bald man stared around in disbelief. He'd only lost focus for a split second, and somehow all his guys were already down.

"Honestly, I have no idea why you came looking for us." William fixed his gaze on the bald man and Rex. "But if you're planning to come at me, I don't mind putting every last one of you in the ground."

A wave of killing intent hit them like a wall. Both men's breathing went ragged, their bodies trembling without meaning to.

"Try it if you dare. We're Deadshot Gang!" Rex clenched his fists and glared at William. "You kill us, and our boss will never let you walk away from this!"

The name made William pause. Then he looked at them and asked, "Is your boss Stefan Hensley?"

"Since you know who our boss is, you should know exactly what kind of man he is." Rex said coldly.

Stefan was a monster by any measure. He'd survived alone on a remote island for ten straight years, and his greatest feat was hunting down every dangerous beast on that island and turning them into trophies.

Being on the radar of someone like that was bad news for anyone, even someone like William.

"So what if Stefan's your boss? Forget you. Even if Stefan showed up here himself, he'd be on his knees in front of me without a word." William grabbed Rex by the head and drove his fist straight into his temple.

The pain and dizziness hit Rex like a wave, blurring everything in front of him. He shook his head, fighting to stay conscious.

"I don't know how well you can dish it out, but you can sure take a hit. Good enough to be a punching bag, I'll give you that." William grabbed him by the hair and started dragging him toward the door.

"Let go of me, you bastard!" Rex clutched at his hair and snarled at William through gritted teeth.

William ignored him and kept walking.

A few steps later, a chunk of Rex's hair tore right out of his grip.

Losing that much hair at once made Rex want to die on the spot.

He rolled on the ground clutching his scalp. "Are you out of your mind? This is Deadshot Gang territory. You really think you can do this to me?"

"So what? You think I won't kill you right here?" William planted his foot on Rex. "I'd do the same thing even if Stefan were standing right here."

"Keep dreaming. The only reason you're still running your mouth is because our boss isn't around. If he were here, you'd already be on your knees." Rex forced himself through the pain and jabbed a finger at William.

If Stefan hadn't been away, William would have been groveling in front of them by now. And that woman would have already been sent to his bed.

Nora watched the situation unfold, her nerves starting to get the better of her. "William, maybe we should just go."

"That's exactly what I had in mind." William kicked Rex in the stomach, sending him rolling across the floor again.

The bald man hadn't said a word the entire time, too afraid that opening his mouth would land him in the same shape as Rex.

But just as they were about to leave, a voice came from outside the door. Ice-cold and razor-sharp.

"Someone's throwing punches on my turf. Don't you think that's a little out of line?"

"I trust you've already made your peace with dying?"
