Chapter 135 The Boardroom Restructuring

Chapter 135 The Boardroom Restructuring
Maya’s POV

The heavy doors of the main executive boardroom on the top floor of Vale Holdings swing open, and Adrian and I walk straight into the room where the remaining twelve board members are sitting around the long table with their folders open in front of them. The room gets quiet the second our boots hit the floor, and every single director turns their head to watch us as I walk right up to the head of the table, pulling the court injunction order and the Edinburgh certificates out of my bag while Damien and Sofia take their seats near the door.
"Good morning, everyone, and you can close those old financial folders on your tables right now because the federal court in Lagos just issued a complete freeze on Silas Vale's accounts and granted me full authority to claim my family's sixty percent voting shares in this company," I say, placing the signed court order on the table right in front of the deputy chairman.

"Maya, we saw the news reports about the court hearing this morning, but you have to understand that this board needs to follow formal company procedure before we can just hand over the maritime credit fund to you," Director Vance says, leaning forward on his elbows while his hands fiddle with his pen.
"The formal company procedure was broken twenty-four years ago when Silas Vale forged my father's signature to steal those shares, Director Vance, so today we are fixing that mistake without any further delays or secondary committee meetings," I answer, looking him directly in the eye while Adrian steps up beside my chair to rest his hands on the table.

"She is telling you the truth, Vance, because Prosecutor Ojo has already filed criminal charges against Chief Omisore and the other three directors who tried to hide those offshore transfer receipts," Adrian says, his voice flat and firm as he looks around the table at the remaining members.
"If Chief Omisore is facing criminal charges, then who is currently managing the daily operations at the Port Harcourt terminal, because we have three cargo ships waiting to unload their crates at the pier right now?" Director Adeleke asks, turning his head to look at Sofia.

"Damien and I already sent the new operational codes to the terminal manager thirty minutes ago, Director Adeleke, so those three ships are unloading right now under the supervision of the local harbor authority," Sofia answers, holding her laptop up so the directors can see the live update on her screen.
"That means Silas's secondary security contracts are completely dead, and any director who tries to enforce his old directives will be removed from this board immediately for breaching federal compliance laws," I declare, pulling the new corporate resolution forms out of my bag and sliding them down the middle of the table.

"Maya, some of us have been on this board for fifteen years, and we just want to ensure that the maritime credit fund stays stable so the dock workers get their weekly pay," another director speaks up from the far end of the table.
"The dock workers will get their weekly pay every Friday without fail, because Adrian and I are placing the primary credit fund under our joint direction, and we are eliminating all those offshore management fees that Silas used to siphon money into Europe," I explain, leaning my palms on the table so every person in the room can hear me clearly.

"Are you asking us to vote on this new corporate resolution right now, or are you giving us time to review these terms with our legal advisors?" Director Vance asks, picking up one of the printed sheets and reading through the first three paragraphs.
"You can read the sheets right now, Vance, but the vote is happening before we leave this room, because the federal magistrate gave us full legal backing to dissolve the old board structure today," Adrian tells him, stepping closer to the head of the table while Damien hands fresh pens to the directors.

"If we sign these resolution forms today, Maya, do you promise that the local terminal contracts will remain with our current logistics partners in the city?" Director Adeleke inquires, holding his pen over the signature line while he waits for my response.
"The legitimate logistics partners will keep their contracts, but any company that paid kickbacks to Silas or Minister Ade will be replaced by the end of the week," I reply, giving him a direct answer so there is no confusion about how we plan to run this business going forward.

"That sounds entirely fair to me, because we were all tired of Silas running this firm like his private bank account while the rest of us took the legal risks," Director Adeleke says, lowering his pen to the paper and writing his full signature across the bottom of the resolution form.
"Director Adeleke has signed the document, so let's take a formal hand vote right now for the rest of the table," Adrian says, looking across the room as the remaining directors look at each other and begin to raise their hands one by one.

"All twelve remaining directors have raised their hands, Maya, which means the vote to restore your family's assets and place the credit fund under joint direction is officially unanimous," Sofia announces, recording the result on her laptop screen and sending the digital file directly to the high court clerk.
"The board has officially ratified the asset restoration, so tomorrow morning we begin the full cleanup of the company accounts, and every single director here will report directly to Adrian and me," I tell them, taking the signed resolution forms off the table and putting them safely inside my folder while the directors stand up from their chairs to shake our hands, bringing our long struggle inside Vale Holdings to a complete and total victory.
