Chapter 85- The Revelation (Part 1)

Chapter 85- The Revelation (Part 1)
Faith’s POV

My eyelids felt heavy, but I forced them open little by little. The first thing I noticed was the softness beneath me. Yes, I was lying on a soft bed.

I bit my lip as I struggled to lift my eyes. The light was bright but not blinding. Once I could finally see my surroundings, a wave of panic hit me as I recalled what had happened earlier. I was kidnapped.

The walls were pristine white, the curtains neat. The room smelled clean, not like the fear I had left behind before losing consciousness.

I immediately clutched my belly.

“Babies…” I whispered, my voice barely audible.

I closed my eyes for a moment, feeling the slight movements inside me, and a wave of relief washed over me. They were okay. The three of us were okay.

Thank You, God.

Jairee! Where was my son?

I took a deep breath, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t shake the heaviness in my chest. The room was neat—the bed, the small lampshade on the side table, a glass of water. I was thirsty, but I hesitated to drink it. What if it was poisoned? I chose to endure the thirst, not knowing who had taken me.

And that was the terrifying part.

I slowly sat up, still caressing my belly, trying to steady my trembling hands. I had to stay calm. I had to think. But think about what?

Suddenly, I heard a door open.

My breath caught. I waited to see who would step through, eyes fixed on the slowly opening door, which moved as if unwilling to surprise me.

A man peeked inside, glancing at me and the glass of water on the side table.

“Madam, she’s awake. She hasn’t drunk the water,” he said into his phone.

It felt like ice coursed through my veins. My whole body went cold. I clutched the edge of the bed, trying not to show my fear even though I was trembling.

It wasn’t Austin who arranged this. Who was the “madam” he mentioned? What was in the water? Did they intend to harm my babies? So many questions swirled, but none had answers.

One thing was certain—I would not let anything happen to my babies, no matter what.

Just as the man was about to leave, I spoke.

“Wait! Hold on!” I hurriedly said as I stood.

“What is it?” His voice was terrifying, and his expression promised that one wrong word could provoke him.

“W-who… who kidnapped me? Where’s my child?” I stammered, terrified.

“Your child? They’re in your belly, right?” he replied with a grin. “As for who took you, just wait… it’s coming soon.”

“I mean Jairee,” I corrected.

“Oh, your grandchild? He’s in the next room, sleeping peacefully,” he said before leaving and quickly closing the door.

“Grandchild?” I whispered to the empty room. I walked to the door, trying to open it—but it was locked. “Wait… who is this madam he mentioned? How is Jairee her grandchild?” I shouted, hoping for answers, but none came.

I wanted to drink water, even just a little, but what if it was poisoned too? Fear overtook my thirst. I returned to the bed, sitting on the edge, holding my belly.

It wasn’t Austin behind this. I knew him. He wasn’t this kind of person.

But if not him… who was the woman who had me kidnapped and claimed Jairee as her grandchild?

“Austin… where are you?” I whispered to the empty room, my chest growing heavier. “I need you now. We need you… your children need you.”

I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. I was scared—not for myself, but for my babies. For Jairee. For the helplessness I felt.

“Lord…” I looked up, forcing a prayer between my shivering breaths. “Please, don’t let anything happen to us, to my babies.”

I caressed my belly as I felt it stiffen slightly—a reminder that the babies were awake, sensing my fear.

“My children…” I whispered softly, trying to calm myself. “Hold on, okay? Please… hold on to Mommy.”

In the quiet but deafening room, all I could hear was my own crying, my heart racing. My fear only deepened with each passing second.

I looked around the room. The view outside the window was beautiful, yet ruined by the men patrolling with guns.

There was another door on the right, probably the bathroom. I approached it and was correct. I turned on the faucet and drank—finally, unable to resist my thirst.

Once quenched, I returned to the bed. I didn’t want to sleep, but my eyelids had their own mind.

When I woke, the bed was still soft beneath me, but the room was dark. Anxiety returned. I was about to hold my belly when I realized my arms were tied. Panic set in. I tried to stand, but then noticed my legs were tied too. I gasped in fear before screaming.

“HELP!! Help! Oh my God, please save us!” I screamed repeatedly, hoping someone could hear. I prayed for a miracle, for superheroes to exist just this once. I prayed someone would come. I prayed He would hear me.

“Please… release me! Tu—”

I didn’t finish as the door suddenly opened. Light flooded the room, causing me to shut my eyes tightly.

“Hi, daughter-in-law. You’re awake.”

A familiar voice echoed in the room. My eyes darted to its source.

“Mommy…?” I couldn’t help but whisper.

Austin’s mother… she had kidnapped me? Why? My whole body stiffened as I watched her walk slowly toward me, each step deliberate, terrifying.

Behind her were Daphnie and Kim.

Daphnie’s face was expressionless, her eyes lifeless. But I noticed the bruise on her lip.

Kim looked terrified—her hands shaking as she carried a medical organizer, tears threatening to fall at any moment.

What was happening? Why were they here? Why… like this? My mind was spinning.

“What does this mean?” I asked her.

“Hahaha! Don’t worry, daughter-in-law, I won’t kill you. We just need to remove this obstacle from my plans,” she said, glancing at my belly.

“No! Don’t! Mommy, they’re your grandchildren!” I pleaded, crying. Kim was crying too.

“Children? How many in there, Faith?” Austin’s mother asked. I didn’t answer.

“Kim, how many is Faith carrying?” she asked, but Kim stayed silent.

“How many?” Austin’s mother shouted, causing Kim to flinch before she answered.

“T-twins, Madam,” Kim said, trembling.

“Look at that… if I hadn’t found you right away, you would’ve given me twins to deal with,” she said.

“Problem? These are your grandchildren. Why do you call them a problem?” I said, unable to show her respect anymore.

“Are you stupid or what? Do you think if they were my grandchildren I’d harm them? My grandchildren are the only ones who should benefit from the Garcias’ wealth. Only us, Faith, only us. You’re not included, especially your children.”

“They’re Austin’s children.” I replied firmly.

“I know,” she said.

“Then why? Why would you harm them?” I asked.

“Because they’re not my blood,” she answered quickly, losing patience.

“Don’t tell me… Austin’s not your child?” I asked.

“Bingo! Finally, your mind works, Faith,” she laughed. I was shocked at the revelation. Did Austin know? Then he wasn’t Daphnie’s child either.

“So you’re not Daphnie’s child either,” I said.

“A, a, a… you’re wrong,” she said, pointing upward while moving her finger. “Daphnie’s son is my real grandchild, and so is Jairee.”

“B-b-but Jairee? Jairee and Justine are… your grandchildren?” I asked in disbelief.

“Yes, that foolish man didn’t follow the plan. He fathered your sister and hid it from me. Tsk! Tsk!” she said.

“Too much drama and gossip. I’m tired. You know too much,” she added, as if exhausted from talking.

“Kim, just do it already,” she told Kim, who was trembling and quietly crying.

“Mommy, please don’t do this!” Daphnie begged.

“Stop, or do you want to get hurt again? Why are you even here?” she yelled at Daphnie.

I saw Kim set her bag on the table, pulling out a small bottle and a syringe. She was about to wear gloves when Austin’s mother stopped her.

“Do we really need that? You’re not in the hospital. Just hurry,” she said coldly.

Kim obeyed, clearly fighting to keep from trembling.

Once the syringe was filled, she approached me and grabbed my arm.

“Kim, don’t do this… please,” I sobbed, tears, sweat, and mucus on my face, not caring anymore. I had to save my babies.

“Sorry, Faith… I don’t want to do this either, but—”

“You’re taking too long, Kim.” The voice of Austin’s mother cut in, hard and merciless.

“Remember… one call from me… boom! No more children.”

It felt like my world stopped. So that was why Kim was here.

Kim shut her eyes, trembling, before tightening her grip on my arm again. She was about to inject me when—

Three rapid gunshots rang from outside.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Kim froze, Daphnie screamed, and Austin’s mother’s eyes widened.

“A–Austin…”

I whispered, a mixture of hope and fear in my voice.
