Epilogue
Seven years later…
Samaira’s POV:
I couldn’t believe seven years had passed on already! Though Azrael and I wanted to tie the knot immediately after we got engaged but we managed to hold on. The first year we focused more on the business and the second year we began to plan but then Ashley got sick, so it was postponed regardless we’re happy Ashley was ok, and the wedding was perfect, I never thought I’d be someone who’d care so much about it, but it appears with Azrael I truly fell in love with the idea of having the perfect wedding.
Akira and Emma got married, happily. I could never be prouder of Akira, she managed to do her dream job, being a MUA. Of course, I was proud of Emma too, but she scored her dream job the moment she graduated- of course not with her dream salary but she was slowly getting there.
Rae and Hendro got married not too long ago. The moment Rae graduated Hendro surprised her with her own studio which she soon started working in and was slowly building a name for herself in the fashion world. Hendro got more and more commissions and soon opened his own place offering architect services.
Blake and Lara met and to everyone's surprise, the two hit it off immediately. They even moved in together, got engaged, and later married even. Everyone was a little surprised but what was important was that they were both very happy. Between Lara and Deacon, the fault didn’t lay with her, she managed to get pregnant with Blake, and now they have a one-year-old girl, Willow Ulrich-Anderson.
When it came to kids, Azrael and I didn’t really plan it out when we’d want to have it. We both decided to focus on Angel tech but if it happens, it happens, we didn’t want to force it or put too much planning into it. Part of me was glad it was that way; I couldn’t help but worry about whether I’d be a good mother or not.
Well, it’s time for me to start working on that then, I stared at the three sticks, all came back positive confirming I was indeed pregnant. I felt breathless for a moment, my mouth hung open as I stared at them. I knew this could be happening but somehow I still hadn’t expected it to. Shit, what if Azrael changes his mind? No, no, he wouldn’t. He’d never be that way.
I threw two sticks away then took one of them and brought it to the room, carefully placing it in a tiny box and adding a bow on top of it. I stared at the mint green box; this would be given to Azrael. I worried whether I should do it tonight or maybe tomorrow or maybe even next week. Maybe next-
“Hey, babe?” Azrael called out as he entered the room and looked at me with his brow in an arch.
“Oh, hello,” I put the wrapped box on the dresser with shaky hands and turned around to face my husband, smiling at him.
“Uhm, I just finished making the burgers, you coming?” He said, looking at me weirdly and carefully wrapped his arms around me.
“Mhm,” I hummed, my heart beating much faster than before. I knew he must feel it too, there was no denying it, I was even sweaty.
“Everything alright?” He asked, his brows furrowed as he studied me, clearly there was no I could lie whilst looking him in the eyes.
“I have a present for you,” I announced and turned around to grab the box and handed it over to him.
“Oh, what for?” He frowned, inspecting the small box.
“Just open it, silly,” I shook my head.
“Yes, ma’am,” He chuckled and carefully began to unwrap the gift, he removed the lid and his jaw dropped, eyes widened, “Oh my god,” Azrael looked over at me, “Are you?”
“Yes, I took three of them,” I said excitedly and nervous at the same time. We did want kids, but we didn’t know when and it worried me if this was the wrong time.
“Fuck, I love you so much, I’m so excited,” He put the box to the side and pulled me over to kiss me deeply, his hands around my waist.
Well, that went better than expected. Now we’ll just skip to our appointment, God I was so excited to head there as was Azrael. I laid down on my back, my shirt over my tummy. I looked over at Azrael as the doctor smeared the cold gel over my stomach and pointed to the screen.
“Everything is perfectly fine,” Dr. Daisy said, turning to smile at the two and added, “Congratulations you two.”
“Thank you, doc,” I grinned, looking over at Azrael and kissing his hand.
“Hold on,” The doctor frowned and pressed on the other side to inspect closer. “Oh, my,” She announced, shocked, worrying Azrael and me.
“What’s wrong? Is everything ok?” He asked worriedly, looking at the screen but he barely understood it.
“Congratulations, you’ll be a family of four soon,” She smiled widely, pointing to the screen.
“What?” I frowned. Four? How is it four?
“Twins? Are we having twins?” Azrael had a much better guess than me, I gasped at his question and looked at Daisy.
“Yes, Mr. Bright,” She smiled at us and pointed to the screen.
“Are you sure?” He asked, a hint of excitement in his voice.
“Yes, I’m sure,” Doctor muttered and pointed to the screen. “That’s baby number one and that’s baby number two,” She showed us then turned back to us.
“We have to buy a new house. The pool is too small for them both, ugh the backyard won’t fit a slide and swing set, we need more space,” Azrael began to realize and was getting overwhelmed.
“Baby steps, Azrael,” I squeezed his hand, laughing.
“Right, right,” He chuckled, the doctor smiling with us.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t happy with the twins, of course, this meant double the risk but after the twins, I knew I’d call it quits. We’ll just remain a family of four and maybe just maybe get some fur babies. One piece of advice I have is to not move whilst being almost twenty weeks pregnant with twins. I remember how tiring that was for us all even when I was granted rest I refused to let others do everything. At some point, Emma and I sat down by the others because we were pregnant. Yup, Emma and Akira decided Emma would carry their child and they found the perfect donor. If all babies came on their due dates Emma and Akira’s son, Mitsu White-Ito would be three months older than the twins.
The twins' first birthday…
I looked over at our eldest, Dimitri Asher Bright, he had his own little cake. He smashed his hands into the cake and got a handful of cake, white, blue, and green icing, and brought it to his mouth only to make a big mess. But we were all too happy to care about that. The boy sat on his grandfather’s lap.
We all heard a loud shriek and looked over to our girl, Ariel Dianne Bright, she too had her own little cake and was giggling with the purple and white icing smeared on her face, luckily Ashley helped to make sure nothing dropped to the ground.
God, I’ve never seen Vincent and Ashley this happy. They surely were the happiest around their grandchildren. You also had little Zayne Bright Love, son of Zoey Bright and Zion Love. Zoey came out as Ace to us all and of course, we accepted her, and not even a year later she met Zion and the two later got married. Zoey didn’t feel comfortable with pregnancy especially with the stress from her job, so they found a surrogate mother who carried their three-month-old son. He was just perfect! I loved the little guy. The Bright genes sure were strong. They all shared the same jet-black hair and ocean blue eyes. The only difference was that the twins had more tan skin color but of course that may change as they grow. There was one last Bright baby we had to meet which was Rae and Hendro’s child. They are around three months pregnant. They even had the name all set, if it’s a boy Joshua Meadow Jensen and if it’s a girl the first name would change to Jessica. Though the results were a boy it wasn’t 18 weeks yet to get the official gender. Regardless, the little one is already loved, and I just can’t wait to see all cousins running in our backyard, hosting more little playdates for them all, and just watch as they all grow up together. I was happy my babies had a ‘big’ family, growing up I felt quite lonely, but I knew Ariel and Dimitri wouldn’t have that.
We’re all one big, happy family. Of course, there are little fights here and there but in the end, we still loved each other more than everything.
The twins were everything we would have wished for. Dimitri was the sweetest little boy ever who loved hugs more than anything and ducks. Ariel was quite a bossy little one, but like her brother she loved hugs too, in fact, the two prefer to share a bed even with all the kicking each other it was better for them than sleeping apart. They went from womb-mates to roommates. Ariel was obsessed with markers; the walls can speak for that. Both are calm but when together they wreak havoc and sadly it’s the cutest thing for us to see. Azrael and I knew we’d be in trouble in the future but for now, we basked in all the hugs and kisses of the little ones.
Once the party was over Azrael and I cleaned up as much as we could then went and bathed the twins, they sure had the best birthday one-year-olds could wish for. They were tired they barely even splashed around, bonus for Azrael and me, we now had less to clean up.
We helped the two out of the bathtub and dried their skin then got them ready for bed.
"Look at these two angels," He sighed lovingly, watching as they laid so still whilst we wore their pajamas for them, they were only still because they were tired.
"They look so tired," I pouted, caressing Ariel's face carefully. "Are you tired, my babies?" I did the same with Dimitri who then yawned.
"Oh, that's a big yawn," Azrael chuckled and got up, carrying both babies in his arms. Such a show-off.
"No story time needed, I think," I mentioned, following behind my husband.
"Nope," He chuckled and sat on the edge of their bed.
We settled them both in their bed. Dimitri reached for his duck-stuffed animal, his tiny hand wrapped around the leg of the toy and his other hand on Ariel who hugged her snowman stuffed animal, it was a new gift from grandma and grandpa. She refused to leave it downstairs with the rest of the new gifts, so it came to bed with her.
"Sweet dreams, angels," Azrael wished them and leaned over to give each a kiss on their forehead then gave me the chance to do so too. We got up and watched as the kids dozed off immediately. Azrael closed the door carefully then turned to me, "Mrs. Bright," He smiled, wrapping his arms around me. I stared into those beautiful eyes, carefully moving my hands up his biceps. "I love you," He placed a kiss on my forehead. "Me more," I muttered and got on my toes to peck his lips.
The end…
