Chapter 15

Azrael helped her off of him and set her down on the couch, watching as she panted for air and smiled to himself. “I’ll be right back ok,” He reached over to kiss her forehead then got up and walked away. Samaira hummed and closed her eyes for a moment, moving her head in the pillow, trying to get comfortable. Azrael soaked a cloth in lukewarm water then walked back to her, gently spreading her thighs apart, Samaira’s eyes opened immediately, looking at the man. She knew for sure she was done for the night; her body couldn’t take anything more.

“Relax sweetheart, I’m only here to help you clean up,” He assured her, caressing her skin then ran the cloth over her skin, cleaning up the messes they both made. Once he was finished he disposed of the piece of cloth and returned it back to her. “Would you like a bath or shower?” He then asked, helping her sit up and wrapped the blanket around her to keep her warm for now.

“I’m hungry,” Samaira blurted out, just now realizing how famished she was. There was nothing she wanted more than her belly filled.

“Me too, but I only have cookies and-” Azrael mumbled then frowned, realizing he didn’t have much and there wasn’t much time to make them something.

“Cookies will do perfect, Azrael,” Samaira cut him off, already wanting those cookies. Before all of this, the whole room smelled like his freshly baked cookies but now it smelled of sex and sweat.

“Cookies and milk, coming up,” He smiled and got up, he went to get the cookies, resting six of them on a plate then put some water to heat up. He planned on making them some quick noodles. It was the quickest thing he knew how to make; he wouldn’t let her have just cookies and milk for dinner.

“Here you go, Samaira,” Azrael sat down next to her, handing her the plate. “Thank you, Azri,” She smiled and took one of the cookies, dipping it in her milk then ate it. Azrael too did the same once the cookies were finished. Azrael went into the kitchen to make his preparations then walked back to Samaira. “So, shower or bath?” he asked again, knowing they both still needed to clean up.

“Definitely a shower,” Samaira stood up, removing the blanket from her body. Azrael nodded and took her hand when he noticed her legs were still a little wobbly then picked her up. She thanked him quietly then remained quiet as he carried her to the bathroom. They both headed into the shower, Azrael helped her wash her skin, being careful not to wet her hair. She looked at the man as he washed her skin with such care, being extra gentle with her, unlike how he treated her when they were busy. She wasn’t complaining though, they both knew she liked being treated roughly deep down, as long as the aftercare was great.

Once he finished rinsing off the bubbles from their skin he stepped out of the shower and handed Samaira a towel then got one for himself. “Get dressed, I’ll finish making the noodles then you can have a proper dinner,” He dried his body then put on some boxers and a pair of sweatpants. “Ok,” Samaira mumbled, unable to rip her eyes away from him. It wasn’t until he left the room she was able to get herself ready for the night, but still a little too lazy to do her skincare. All she did was apply her face moisturizer.

Azrael luckily had some broccoli that wasn’t frozen yet and tossed it around with some butter in a pan then made the noodles, a recipe he learned from Rae. It had to be one of the easiest and most delicious things he could make aside from the cookies. Samaira walked out of the room; the aroma of the tasty food filled her nose suddenly making her hungry again. She walked over to the kitchen, watching as he fixed two plates. She made herself useful and filled two glasses with sparkling water then rested them on the table. “All ready?” He served their plates on the table.

“Mhm, I didn’t know I was hungry till I saw this,” She licked her lips, picking up the fork, she watched as steam escaped from the food, knowing if she started eating now it would burn her mouth, so she waited impatiently.

“Four cookies isn’t exactly a dinner, sweetheart,” Azrael chuckled, sitting down across her and reaching for his drink. “Are you sure you’re ok? I know I can be a bit uh rough sometimes,” He mentioned, not wanting her to be uncomfortable in any way though they have passed that point now.

“A bit?” She raised a brow at him, watching as his face turned into an innocent look. “I’m good, just a little sore honestly,” She admitted. “But the good kind of sore,” She added, looking away from his eyes, slightly shy about it. Fuck, she didn’t know why he made her so shy all of the sudden, usually she got bolder when drunk but this wasn’t the case this time.

“That’s good, after dinner, we will get some rest,” He assured her and twirled some of the noodles in his fork and blew on it. The two chatted a bit as they ate their dinner, they didn’t bother doing the dishes, they were both too tired and were on their way to bed. Samaira stopped at her room and reached for the door handle, a frown formed on Azrael’s face, “Where are you going?”

“Sleep, duh,” She yawned, holding a hand in front of her mouth. “Come, you’re sleeping with me tonight,” Azrael said tiredly, reaching for her hand and walking on, never giving her the chance to protest.

Samaira wanted to complain at first but realized she was too tired for that plus now she didn’t need to use a pillow to hug onto but an actual human. Azrael opened the bedroom door and moved to the thermostat to adjust the room temperature. She looked over at the black wood accent wall to which the bed was put against. She looked over at the bed, it had a matching black frame. His bedding was white standing out the most in the dark part of the room along with the matching white nightstands on either side of the bed. What she loved the most was how big it was, she assumed it was a Wyoming king-sized bed, too big for one person of course but it’s all about comfort.

“Shit, it’s cold,” Samaira wrapped her arms around herself as she sat at the edge of his bed. She had been in his room before, however, this is the first time she got onto the bed, sinking into the soft and comfortable mattress.

“Sorry, I prefer it this way, I have thick blankets though,” Azrael replied, looking at the brunette as she climbed further onto the bed and laid near the left middle. “Want me to get you one?” He offered, looking down at the blanket on the bed but knew that might be too thin for her.

“Yes please,” Samaira smiled at him. Azrael nodded and turned around, walking to the closet, and picked out one of the thick blankets he had laying around. When Azrael returned back to the brunette he realized she was already sleeping and smiled to himself. He slowly and carefully tucked her in then went to dim the lights in the room and climbed into bed next to her. He stared up at the ceiling for a moment then felt an arm draping over his body, followed by a leg, and frowned for a moment before realizing what was happening. Samaira was cuddling him! He sighed and opened his arm, letting her lay on his shoulder. He started to think and that’s when the guilt began to settle in, he turned to look at the woman sleeping next to him, watching as she took slow breaths, just now realizing how long her lashes were and how unruly her brows could be. He looked over at her pouty lips and how her curls covered part of her face. The guilt rose up more, he didn’t feel drunk at all. Part of him began to wonder if he had taken advantage of her. She had more drinks than him and made it clear she didn’t drink often, had he made a mistake by engaging in sex with her? Tonight was surely one of the best nights he ever had and knew Samaira enjoyed every last second of it, however, he worried if she were sober she wouldn’t want this at all and that he took advantage of her. Not even five minutes later Azrael passed out, exhaustion took over after such a long day and night.

Once morning came around the brunette rolled onto her right side. Azrael sat up, leaning against the headboard as he checked his messages, emails as well as social media. He looked over at the brunette when he saw her moving around, noticing how her brown curls were sprawled all over the pillow then saw her hand reaching out as if she was searching for a pillow to hug but instead she found his thigh covered in the material of his soft sweatpants. Samaira soon realized it wasn’t a pillow and froze for a moment, uncertain what to do. Memories flood her mind as she remembered every single detail of last night. This would be a fucking mess; she knew it would. She shut her eyes tighter for a moment, cursing at herself. She let go of his leg, her eyes fluttering as she rolled onto her back and looked over to her side to see Azrael there with his brow raised up at her.

“I guess good morning would be in order?” Samaira mumbled, rubbing her eyes then sat up, running her fingers through her hair for a moment, the smell of the sweet argan oil rose up.

“Good morning indeed,” Azrael locked his phone and put it to the side.

“Good sleep?” She asked, wondering if they’d do what they did last time they made out. Ignore this, she felt like this was something too big to just avoid.

“Yep. You? How do you feel?” He asked in the slightest awkward tone but was still very much curious about it.

“Perfect,” She lied feeling sore but was too embarrassed to admit that to him.

“Good,” He nodded, and they both looked at each other with awkward looks on their faces. They both knew this couldn’t be ignored but neither of them could talk about this.

“Samaira, we have to talk about last night,” He bit the bullet and opened up the dreadful conversation.

“Azrael,” She whined then realized he was right, they had to get this over with before it would all explode in their faces. “You’re right,” She muttered, looking at him, waiting to see what he had to say just to make sure they were both on the same page.

“Last night shouldn’t have happened, it’s a mistake on my part,” He began to apologize, still feeling like he took advantage of her somehow. “You were drunk, and I should’ve known better than to uh do what we did last night,” He added, a bit disappointed in himself, even when he had so much fun.

She frowned looking at him for a moment, should she let him believe what he said? She figured lies wouldn’t do, he didn’t need to beat himself up about something like that. “I don’t think you took advantage of me; I was drunk indeed but I don’t think I regret what we did,” She admitted truthfully, getting all of that out of the way.

“It was a very good night,” Azrael said without thinking, confirming what she too thought about the previous night.

“But still something that shouldn’t have happened,” Samaira added, not wanting to give out the wrong impression.

“Agreed, again I’m sorry it happened whilst we were both drunk, one more than the other,” he said again, both of them trying to clarify it had been a mistake even when they both enjoyed it thoroughly…

“It’s fine,” Samaira assured him.

“Just a mistake that should’ve never happened,” He mumbled, looking away from the brunette, and picked up his phone again and left the room, heading downstairs.

She was drunk last night indeed but sobered up the moment his lips met with hers. Samaira got out of bed and went ahead and got ready for the day. She wanted to avoid seeing Azrael so she went for a jog after making the bed she slept in. Azrael came out of the gym room and noticed his bed was made and frowned. He then realized Samaira wasn’t around and began to worry and rushed downstairs to confirm. For a moment he worried when he didn’t see her around but then he looked out the window and saw Samaira jogging. The man went ahead to shower and get ready for the day.

Samaira entered the house again and went straight to the kitchen. She looked at the ingredients he had, trying to figure out what to make for breakfast. She settled for the simplest thing, pancakes. She made them some pancakes then left his stack bare so he could add his desired toppings. For her own pancakes, she drizzled chocolate syrup, sprinkled some powdered sugar on top, and added some cut-up strawberries on the side. She heard him come down the stairs and looked over at him, “I made some pancakes, but I don’t know what toppings you prefer so it’s there.”

“Oh thanks, I like syrup and strawberry,” He walked over to the fridge grabbing the syrup, and went to add his toppings on the pancakes, he could tell things were different. A little tense almost as if they were both walking around eggshells. In fact, this whole Sunday went by like that, bare minimum contact, short answers almost as if they were afraid of something. They spend Sunday eating their breakfast, doing the dishes, having lunch, watching a movie, resting, having dinner, and bed again. It was like they had nothing to do, both of them afraid to have fun or communicate with each other.
