Chapter 97 He bent down and kissed my lips
Lia
I woke up with a groan, rolling over in bed. My head was fuzzy. I sort of remembered a shower with Beast. Him washing me, and me trying to grab at him, laughing like an idiot. God, how many drinks did I have? And why do my hands ache so much?
I heard a low laugh and opened my eyes. Beast was sitting in a chair across the room, sipping coffee.
“Morning, Rocky. How’s your head?” he asked. He nodded toward the nightstand, where a glass of water and two painkillers sat. Christ, I really do love him.
“Like I went ten rounds in a ring,” I rasped. I took the pills and drank all the water.
He laughed again. “You did. Twice, actually.”
“What?” I put the glass down, stunned.
“You don’t recall beating some guy up on the stViper stage? Or you and Misfit using a man’s face for target practice?”
“Oh my God, no!” I yelped, hiding my burning face in my sore hands.
“Yep. Also, you told me something last night. Said you’ve never given a guy head. Is that true?”
My whole face went hot. I flopped back down and turned away from him. I was so fucking embarrassed.
“Sunshine?”
“Yes,” I breathed into the pillow.
“How is that even possible?”
“Liam used to say only whores did that. I was okay with it, because I never wanted to do it for him. He did not earn that.”
“Well, I’m glad you think I have.”
I turned to look at him. “Did I do it last night? How could I forget something like that? Was I any good?”
He looked at me with so much warmth. He set his cup down and got up. I saw now he was just in his boxers. He climbed into bed and pulled me on top of him.
“No, baby. You tried, in the shower. You kept saying how good I looked and you wanted to know how it felt, especially with me, because I’m big and I have the piercing. But you slipped, and when I caught you, you were out.”
My cheeks had to be bright red. His fingers brushed softly over my face.
“You are so beautiful. I love when you go red like this.”
Which, of course, made me blush even harder.
“There is nothing I want more than to teach you how to take me in that sweet mouth. When you paid attention to my balls, I just figured you knew what you were doing.”
“Teach me? And that just… felt like the thing to do in the moment.”
“Mhmm, it sure did. First, I’m bigger than most. I have the metal, so we’ll need to go slow and careful until you’re used to me. Second, we’ll work on your gag reflex, if you have one, so you can handle most of me. Maybe all.”
I gulped. My eyes must have been huge. All of him? He was not small. I needed to ask Owen for advice. I nodded.
“Okay. I want that.” I felt him get hard beneath me.
“Go get ready for the day, Sunshine. Breakfast is in fifteen.”
I nodded, kissed his nose, then jumped up for the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and my hair, pulling it into a high ponytail. I hurried out, but the room was empty. I grabbed some underwear and an old green t-shirt from the drawers. I had to finish my project.
Walking into the dining area, I saw a bunch of the club girls and brothers eating. We all waved.
“Nice punches, Lia. Where’d you learn to fight like that?” Bear asked. Rachel was giggling on his lap.
“My dad. After he left baseball and became my school principal, he saw guys always hanging around me. So he took me to learn some basic self-defense.”
“Smart man. Guess we’ll do the same for our little one, right baby?”
Everyone at the table stopped eating. Then cheers broke out as they understood. Congratulations filled the room.
“I’m so happy our babies will be born close together,” Carrie said, rubbing her small bump. Clown and Bear grinned at each other and bumped fists.
“That’s really sweet,” I said to Beast as he leaned in to kiss my temple. He set a plate of food in front of me.
“Do you want kids, Sunshine?”
“Someday. Especially now.”
“What do you mean?”
“Now that I’ve found the right man.”
Beast took a quick breath. I looked at him and he was blinking fast. Was that a tear? I leaned over and kissed him softly. He grabbed the back of my neck and kissed me deeper. I made a sound and a few people chuckled or cleared their throats.
I smiled at him and we ate. He, Rockstar, and Taylor left to shop for family day. I went to my studio to finish my project. I was just putting the last touches on when someone knocked.
“Just a minute!” I called. I threw a cloth over my painting and opened the door. Owen stood there with a bottle of water.
“Thank you, you saved my life,” I said, opening the water. I stepped back to let him in. He walked over to my covered painting and took a peek.
“Oh, cupcake. You really did something special here.”
“I hope they like the idea.”
“Darlin’, they won’t know what to say. How many will cry? I say three. Hex, Rockstar, and Clown.”
“If anyone does, it’ll be them. I can’t see Bear, Doc, or Butcher crying. But… I think I saw a tear in Beast’s eye this morning, so maybe him.”
“Why was he tearing up?”
“Because I said I wanted kids, especially now. When he asked why, I told him it was because I’m with the right man.”
Tears welled in Owen’s eyes and he nodded.
“Yeah, that would do it. Come on, I’ll help you seal these.”
The next morning, I got up before Beast. I used the bathroom and got ready, kissing him while he still slept. I was buzzing to see their faces. Owen met me at my studio door. No one else was awake yet. He helped me carry the big canvas to the common room. Two Prospects, Taylor and Max, were in the kitchen starting breakfast.
“We need your help. Can you take down the mirror on the south wall? Then use the nails and hammer on the bar. Put two nails up high, then space them out after we hang this.”
They nodded and followed us. They took down the long mirror. Owen got up on a ladder Taylor brought out, and he hung the big painting like I showed him. Forty minutes later, we were done. I could hear the first sounds of the club waking up. Taylor and Max stepped back, looking amazed.
“Lia, this is incredible. You did wonderful work,” Taylor said.
“Thank you. And thanks for your help.” They nodded and went back to the kitchen. Owen and I went to the bar to wait for reactions.
The club girls came in first to set the tables. They saw the paintings right away. There were gasps and little cries, some squeals and sniffles.
“My God, they’re gorgeous,” Kiki whispered, her eyes wet. The other girls agreed.
I heard boots on the floor and my stomach twisted. Here it comes.
One by one, the brothers came down the hall, and others came in from outside. The talking died as they all gathered in the common room. Then the doors upstairs slammed as the ranked members came out. My hands got clammy. Doc, Bear, Rachel, Hex, Rockstar, and Beast came down. They noticed the quiet and looked around.
“What’s happening?” Rockstar asked. They had not seen the wall yet.
Just then, the door opened and Viper, Torque, Clown, and Butcher walked in. They stopped and looked. Butcher saw it first.
“Holy shit.”
Then they all saw. The long center piece was all black with splashes of red. In the middle was a huge skull with red diamond tears. The Lords Of Chaos was written above and below, with MC on each side.
Then there were nine portraits, all the ranked members in black and white, in different poses. Four were on the left of the big piece, four on the right, and one below. Butcher stared straight out, his eyes intense. The top of his cut with his patches, President and Butcher, seemed to shine. He was below, as the President.
Doc’s head was tilted down, his eyes looking up at you. Torque wore a small smile, his man bun on top of his head, the lightning tattoos clear on the shaved side. Clown’s head was thrown back, laughing. Beast had his arms crossed, looking out with a smirk. Rockstar smiled as he played his guitar. Hex bit his lower lip, his gaze smoldering. Viper had his hands behind his head, his arms flexed, a small, hot smile on his face. Bear looked off into the distance, serious. Each one showed the top part of them with their name and rank patches.
“Lia, I am so proud to have your art in my clubhouse. This is incredible,” Butcher said, coming over to wrap me in a hug.
One by one, the ranked members came to thank me with a hug and a kiss on my forehead or cheek. Rockstar had tears in his eyes. So did Hex. And, to my shock, Doc did too. Beast was last.
“Sunshine, this is epic. I can’t believe you did all this. The middle piece is perfect,” he said, putting an arm around my shoulders. He bent down and kissed my lips gently. “You amaze me.”
I beamed at him. “Thank you.”
Breakfast was full of laughter and warmth. It was the best morning I could remember.
