Chapter 204 Photo Threat

Chapter 204 Photo Threat

Molly immediately clapped and cheered, "Ethan is the best!"

Cecilia was stunned. Before she could figure out why Molly said that, Ethan asked with a smile, "Why do you think Ethan is good?"

"Because Ethan likes Mom just like I do! When Ethan comes, I get to eat lots of dishes, and Mom is really happy too!"

Molly's words made Cecilia's eyes water a little. So Ethan's feelings for her were so obvious that even little Molly could see it.

"Do you want me to come eat with you every day?"

"Yes! I want someone to keep me company every day. Ethan, it would be so great if you could stay here!" Molly looked at Ethan with some sadness.

Ethan asked affectionately, "Why do you want me to stay here?"

"You like Mom so much. If you could stay, you could protect Mom!"

Looking like a little adult, Molly continued with an indignant tone, "Dad is bad. He bullies Mom. I don't want a bad dad. I want Ethan!"

Cecilia didn't know how Ethan felt hearing this, but when she heard Molly's words, she felt that all her past misfortunes didn't matter anymore at this moment. Because within that misfortune was one blessing—she had given birth to Molly.

She was so well-behaved it was heartbreaking.

Cecilia ate this meal with mixed feelings, while Ethan was very happy, feeding Molly her vegetables.

After dinner, Cecilia cleaned up and washed the dishes while Molly clung to Ethan, asking him to play with her in the living room.

It wasn't until very late that Molly reluctantly let Cecilia take her to bathe.

After putting Molly to sleep and finishing her own routine, when Cecilia returned to the bedroom, Ethan had already washed up on his own, wearing the pajamas she'd prepared, lying in bed waiting for her.

Ethan pulled her into his arms and praised generously, "Molly is very well-behaved. You've raised her really well!"

Cecilia took the opportunity to remind him, "Don't buy her such expensive gifts in the future."

That set of dolls was clearly luxury items and couldn't have been cheap.

"As long as Molly likes them." Ethan smiled and added, "Little girls should be spoiled."

Cecilia couldn't argue. She also wanted to spoil Molly as much as possible, but she didn't have the means.

"Do you like children?" Seeing how well Ethan and Molly got along today, Cecilia couldn't help asking.

Ethan didn't answer right away. After a moment of silence, he said, "I don't know if I like children, but I'm sure I really like the feeling of being with you and Molly. It feels close, like a family!"

Cecilia was touched by Ethan's words. She had called Ethan to come home for dinner just to help build a relationship between him and Molly, but she hadn't expected it to work out so well.

She lifted her head, her eyes fixed on Ethan's handsome face, and then kissed him first.

When emotions ran high, she just wanted to lose herself in Ethan's tenderness and give him both her body and heart.

The familiar scent, the familiar body, their passionate entanglement—everything felt so natural. They were like a loving couple who, after putting their child to sleep, claimed each other and reached the peak of desire.

The closer she got to Ethan, the less Cecilia wanted to leave this warm, solid embrace.

But when the passion faded, she had to face reality again.

Between them, even if they dealt with Sebastian and got Molly's approval, there was still the hardest obstacle—Ethan's status and position, a height Cecilia could never reach no matter how hard she tried.

Thinking about this, she burrowed deeper into Ethan's arms, enjoying this moment of peace.

Whatever the future held, at least right now this man was hers and could stay by her side.

As for that obstacle, for the sake of Ethan's feelings for her, she had to try her best. What if she could overcome it?

But before she could prepare herself mentally, someone came looking for her.

That arrogant woman from the brand department called to arrange a meeting. Even before going, she realized the other party wasn't just one person.

On the way, after much hesitation, she still didn't tell Ethan about this meeting.

After all, she didn't yet know what the other party's intentions were.

When she arrived, the other person was already waiting. It was indeed the woman she had glimpsed from afar.

She was Ethan's mother and Aurora's aunt, Jasmine Pierce.

Up close, Jasmine's face looked even more striking, with an air of nobility about her. Her hairstyle, clothing, and makeup all showed refinement.

Cecilia walked up with forced composure. When Jasmine saw her, she glanced at her and raised an eyebrow, saying, "Sit down!"

Before Cecilia could catch her breath, Jasmine said again, "Do you know why I'm looking for you?"

Jasmine's tone was very calm, revealing neither joy nor displeasure, but precisely because of this, it gave Cecilia a very heavy sense of pressure.

She didn't know how to answer, because at this moment, no matter how she responded, Jasmine would find fault with it.

Seeing her silence, Jasmine didn't press her but calmly took out a stack of photos from her bag. While looking at them, she commented, "The angles are quite good. Worthy of a professional. Would you like to take a look?"

Jasmine had already handed the photos to Cecilia, her tone carrying the same commanding authority as Ethan's.

Although Cecilia had never really dealt with wealthy families, she knew a thing or two about their methods.

So when she took the photos and saw that she and Ethan were the subjects, she wasn't too surprised.

The photos didn't just show her and Ethan—there were also Molly, Nathan, and Seraphina. Every detail of their lives had been clearly captured.

Cecilia looked at Jasmine with some panic, only to see her eyes smiling as she praised, "The child is very cute!"

Then she continued, "The first time I met Aurora, she was about this age—well-behaved, clever, sensible, with big innocent eyes. Watching her grow up day by day, I felt such a sense of achievement. I wanted to give her all the good things and fulfill all her wishes. As a parent yourself, you must feel the same way, right?"

Her words seemed scattered, but they were all revealing one fact to Cecilia: she had walked every path Cecilia had walked. She knew all too well what a mother's weakness was.

"When Aurora was first adopted by our family, I had already planned out her future. You could say she carries my future! Cecilia, you're a smart person. You understand what I mean, don't you?"

As Jasmine spoke, her eyes looked at Cecilia, the coldness in them shooting straight at her face.

Cecilia clutched the stack of photos tightly, her heart growing more panicked.

She shouldn't have come to meet Jasmine without telling Ethan.

Her blind confidence only left her without even the courage to speak up and fight back under Jasmine's strong pressure.

"Ms. Pierce, actually I'm not that smart. I don't quite understand what you mean, so please, speak plainly!"

This was the first thing Cecilia had said since arriving. She had gathered all her courage to look Jasmine in the eye.
