Chapter 78

Riana, worried for her friend, asked Melissa to come and stay with her in her room for a week until the situation calmed down. Melissa agreed and was relieved to be somewhere safe.

However, Alpha Killian had other plans. He advised Melissa to sleep in her room inside the castle again, claiming that it would be much safer there. He also wanted to use this time to try and find out who the wolf was that attacked Melissa; Alpha Killian suspected it was someone with a connection to the castle, and he wanted to find out the truth.

"Just let her sleep inside her room so that I can caught who the wolf is,"Alpha Killian said seriously.

"Do you think it was a good idea? To put her life in danger again?"Riana asked him.

"Yes. I swear that I will protect her,"Alpha Killian assured her.

Melissa reluctantly agreed to Alpha Killian's plan but she still agree about it. 

After a few days of searching, Alpha Killian was able to identify the wolf as one of the female wolves of the castle.

Although Alpha Killian was able to bring the wolf to justice, Melissa never fully recovered from the attack. She and Riana continued to be close friends, and Melissa was grateful to Alpha Killian for his help and protection.

Alpha Killian’s heart was pounding as he crept through the shadows of Melissa’s bedroom. He had been tracking the wolf for days, ever since it had attacked Melissa in her room. He had finally caught up with it, and he was ready to make it pay for the pain it had caused her.

Killian moved silently and carefully, his eyes searching every inch of the dark room. He knew the wolf was here somewhere, but he had to be careful not to startle it and cause it to bolt before he had a chance to catch it.

"Here you are!"he told himself.

After what felt like an eternity of searching, Killian finally spotted the wolf lying on the floor. Its eyes were closed and its breathing was slow and steady. Killian could feel the anger and rage rising inside him as he stepped closer. He wanted nothing more than to tear the animal apart for the harm it had caused Melissa.

But he knew he had to stay calm. He had to be smart about how he handled this. He had to be sure the wolf didn’t get away.

Killian slowly approached the wolf, his steps heavy and determined. He was close enough now that he could see the wolf’s fur bristling with fear. Its eyes popped open, wide with terror.

The wolf sprang to its feet and tried to flee, but Killian was too quick. He lunged forward and grabbed the animal by its neck. He held it tightly in his grasp, not letting it move an inch.

Killian’s eyes were cold and hard as he stared down at the wolf. He could feel the power radiating from his body, and he knew the animal was no match for him.

The wolf whimpered and tried to squirm out of his grip, but Killian wouldn’t let go. He tightened his hold, and the wolf yelped in pain.

“You will never hurt Melissa again,” Killian growled.

The wolf whimpered again, and Killian knew he had won. He had caught the animal responsible for attacking Melissa, and he knew he had done the right thing.

He released his grip, and the wolf scrambled away, disappearing into the night. Killian watched it go, knowing that it would never dare to come back.

Killian stood in the silence of Melissa’s bedroom, feeling a sense of satisfaction and relief that the wolf had been caught. He had done his job, and he had done it well.

He was an Alpha, and no creature was safe from his wrath.

"Monica?!"Alpha Killian uttered firmly.

"She defended your betrayal with Riana, your secret affair!"she shouted.

"That's impossible! I never had an affair with Riana!"Alpha Killian denied.

"I saw you two together, sneaking around the forest, holding hands and kissing. Lier!"Monica shouted.

"That was nothing! We were just friends! Don't make a story!"Alpha Killian said angrily.

"No, you were more than just friends. She was your lover, and Melissa knew it. When she found out, she defended you and your affair, and that's why I attacked her."

"But why? Why would you do that?"Alpha Killian asked.

"Because I was jealous. I wanted to be with you, and when I saw you with Riana, I couldn't take it. I had to do something to make you mine."Monica replied.

"That's ridiculous! You can't just attack someone because you're jealous! You have to learn to control your emotions."

"But I couldn't help it. I love you, Alpha Killian. I wanted to be with you, and when I saw you with her, I just snapped." Monica said.

"You are the one who commit betrayal not me,Monica." Alpha Killian told her.

"I  know, and I'm sorry. I was wrong, and I never should have done it. I'll make it up to you, I promise."

"Apology accepted, but you have to promise me you'll never do anything like this again. No more attacking people I care about."Alpha Killian said.

"I promise. I won't do it again, I swear." She replied.

"Good. Now let's go make sure Melissa is okay."Alpha Killian said.

Finally, Killian stopped his pacing and look for Riana. His expression was grim, and Riana was confused at those moments.

"Riana, there's something I need to tell you,"he said.

"It's about the wolf I have caught. It seems that he was not working for Zillah as we suspected, but rather he was obsessed with me."

"What do you mean obsessed?' she asked.

Killian sighed. 'It seems that this wolf has been following me for months, watching my every move and trying to get close to me. I believe she was planning to attack Melissa, but her plan failed miserably." Alpha Killian said seriously.

Riana felt both relief and fear. She was relieved that Melissa had not been hurt, but also fearful that this wolf was still out there.

"Where is she now?" she asked.

"Uhmm.. I let her go,"Alpha Killian replied.

"What?!!"Riana asked, frowning.

"We must find this wolf and make sure he never comes near you again," she said firmly.

Alpha Killian nodded.He knew it was the right thing to do, but she was still scared. She had never faced a real enemy before.

"We will find her," Killian promised. "You need not worry. I will protect you."

Riana smiled. She knew she could trust Killian and she felt a wave of warmth spread through her. She was grateful for his presence and protection.

"Thank you," she said.

Killian nodded and smiled back. Then, he turned and began to walk away.

"Where are you going?"Riana asked.

"To find the wolf,"Killian replied.

Riana watched him until he disappeared into the forest. She felt a deep sense of admiration for the alpha wolf as he strode away, ready to protect her no matter what.

Riana stood in the meadow for a few moments, watching the sun slowly set, before turning and heading home. She knew that Killian would find the wolf, and she was determined to stay safe until he did.

"Riana? What is it? You look so stressed out."Melissa asked.

"It's complicated. I had come back to take revenge, but then I started to feel something for him. I was weak and I gave in. We've been seeing each other for a while now and I can't help but feel guilty about it. I feel like I'm betraying myself.

"Do you mean do you just want to take revenge?"she asked.

Riana just nodded.

"Riana, it's okay. It's not your fault that you fell in love with someone who hurt you before. You deserve to be happy. Just make sure that you're honest with Alpha Killian about your feelings and that you don't get hurt again."Melissa said. 

"Thanks, Melissa. I really appreciate it. I just hope that I can make this work."

"You can. I believe in you. Just remember to take care of yourself, okay?"

"I will. Thanks again."Riana smiled.

"'Melissa, I need your help to go to Valentin." Riana said.

Melissa: 'Are you sure you want to leave the castle? You know that it won't be easy and you might get caught.'

"Yes, I know. But it's the only way I can make things right. Alpha Killian has been putting you in danger because of me and I can't let that continue.'

"Alright. What do you need me to do?" Melissa asked her.

"I need you to help me get out of the castle without anyone seeing me. Can you do that?"she answered.

"Yes, I think so. I can make sure that no one notices you leaving."Melissa assured.

"Thank you. I know it's a lot to ask but I really need your help."Riana thanked her.

"It's no problem. I'll do whatever I can to help you. Now, what is your plan?"Melissa asked.

"I'm going to sneak out of the castle late at night. I'll need to get past the guards and I'll need to find a way to reach Valentin without being seen."Riana said.

"That's risky but doable. I can help you find a way out and I can help you make sure you're not seen. I'll also find you a horse to ride to Valentin."Melissa said.

"Thank you, Melissa. I really appreciate it. I'm sure that this will be the only way for me to make things right."

"Don't worry, Riana. We'll make sure you get to Valentin safely. Now, let's get you ready to go."Melissa smiled.

"Melissa, the guards must have seen us leave the castle! We need to keep moving!

" I know. *pants as they run* Just keep going straight! We'll make it to the forest soon.

"But Alpha Killian's eyes are everywhere. He'll find us before we make it out of the castle!"Riana said.

"We'll just have to take our chances! Let's go!

They finally make it out of the castle and into the forest, they are running through the woods, trying to keep themselves hidden*

"We made it!"Riana said,smiling.

Breathing hard* Yes, now let's keep going, we need to get away from the castle before anything else happens.

Suddenly they hear a noise coming from behind them, a group of rogue knights approaching on horseback, getting ready for an attack.

Melissa: Quick! Get down!

Riana and Melissa hide behind some bushes, hoping the knights don't spot them. The knights ride past without noticing them, but it's clear they are searching for something. Melissa and Riana quickly make a run for it, getting out of the immediate area. After a few minutes, the knights give up their search and ride back to the castle. Once they are out of earshot, the two women slowly stand up and continue on their way.

 *breathing heavily* That was close" Riana said.

"Yeah, we were lucky. Let's just keep moving, as fast as we can."Melissa said.

The two keep running until they reach the edge of the forest. They stop to catch their breath, looking back towards the castle in the distance.*

"I don't think we'll be going back there anytime soon.

"We have to figure out what to do next. Let's just take it one step at a time.

"Do you want to come with me?"Riana asked.

"I'm sorry,Luna but I can't leave the pack," Melissa refused.
