Chapter 71

Alpha Killian stared into Zillah's eyes, his face a mask of confusion. He had no idea why she was saying these things.

'What are you saying, Zillah? You know me better than that. I would never betray you. You know that I am loyal to you and our pack,' he said firmly, trying to make her understand.

Zillah shook her head stubbornly. 'I can see it in your eyes, Killian. You and Riana had a secret relationship. I know it. I can feel it.'

Killian sighed. He knew that he couldn't deny what Zillah said. He had been seeing Riana before he and Zillah had become a couple. But he had ended it when he realized that he truly loved Zillah. He had never intended to hurt her.

'I'm sorry, Zillah. I should have told you about Riana. I never meant to hurt you. I never wanted to betray you,' he said softly.

Zillah looked away, tears forming in her eyes. 'I want to believe you, Killian. I want to trust you. But it's hard for me to trust you after this.'

Killian nodded, understanding her pain. He had caused this pain, and it was his responsibility to make things right. He would prove to Zillah that he was loyal to her and their pack.

He reached out and took her hands in his. 'I will never betray you again, Zillah. I love you, and I will do whatever it takes to prove it to you.'

Zillah looked up at him, her eyes searching his. After a few moments, she nodded.

'I believe you, Killian,' she said softly.

Killian smiled and pulled her into a hug. He was relieved that she believed him, and he vowed that he would never hurt her again. He had learned his lesson. From now on, he would always be loyal to his Luna.

Riana had been part of Killian's pack since she was a pup, and had worked her way up to become a trusted member of the team. But, throughout her tenure, she had never had a personal relationship with her Alpha.

When rumors began to circulate that she had been secretly involved with Killian, Riana was shocked and appalled. She knew that any hint of scandal could damage the pack's reputation, so she decided to confront the gossip head-on.

At the next pack meeting, Riana stood up and addressed the crowd. She began by explaining that, while she had enormous respect for Killian as her leader, she had never been involved with him in any way. She went on to say that any rumors of a relationship between them were false and had been spread by people with ulterior motives.

Riana then proceeded to defend her innocence with facts. She pointed out that she had never been seen alone with Killian and had never been invited to his private chambers. She also highlighted that her duties had always been kept separate from his, and that her involvement in the pack had been limited to her job.

Finally, Riana concluded her speech by stating that she had never betrayed the trust of her pack by engaging in any inappropriate behavior with the Alpha. She then looked around the room, her gaze locking with the eyes of the pack members, and finished by saying that she would never do anything to compromise the reputation of the pack she had served for so many years.

Zillah and Killian had been Alphas of the pack for many years. Killian had been faithful to Zillah since she had taken over as Alpha, but she had always been jealous of his former Luna, Riana.

So when Zillah suggested that Killian have a secret affair with Riana, he was taken aback. He refused, not wanting to betray Zillah's trust.

But Zillah was insistent. She wanted Killian to prove his loyalty to her, and she thought this was the best way.

Killian argued with her in front of the whole pack, telling her that he would never cheat on her. He argued that he was devoted to her and that he would never do anything to hurt her.

The pack watched in shock as the two Alphas argued. They had never seen anything like this before.

Finally, Killian agreed to Zillah's demands, but only if they could keep it a secret from everyone. Zillah agreed, and the two of them went their separate ways.

The pack eventually forgot about the argument, but the tension between the two Alphas was still there. Even though they never spoke of it again, the pack could sense that something was amiss.

But despite the tension, Killian and Zillah stayed together, and their secret affair continued. They were both able to keep it hidden from everyone, and they were able to keep their pack happy and safe.

Alpha Killian of the Bloody scar pack and Riana of the bloody moon pack had grown up side-by-side and had been became mates before. Even though they were from different packs now, they had remained loyal to each other until they had crossed the line. Neither of them had intended to hurt anyone, but they had made a mistake and had accidentally betrayed their mates. It was something that neither of them had expected to happen, and now, they faced the punishment of their respective packs.

The elders of both packs had ordered that Killian and Riana be separated for a month, so that they could reflect on their mistakes and repent for what they had done. Killian and Riana had no choice but to comply. They parted ways and tried to forget each other.

Killian had not expected the physical pain he felt every time he recalled the moments they had spent together in bliss. He missed her laugh, her voice, her scent. He wished he could just tell her he was sorry for what had happened and that he would do anything to make it right, but he knew it was best that they stayed away.

Riana too, felt an aching emptiness in her heart that was only intensified by the distance between them. She wished she could reach out to him somehow, to let him know that she felt the same way, that she didn't want them to be apart. But their fate had been sealed and they had to obey the penalty of their mistake.

The month went almost painfully slow for both of them, as they forced themselves to stay away from each other despite the yearning in their hearts. As the day of their reunion approached, they could no longer contain their anticipation. At long last, the month had passed and they were able to see each other again.

When they finally came together, the first thing they did was embrace each other tightly, tears streaming down their faces. The pain between them seemed to abate, and all that was left was a deep understanding of each other and a mutual respect for the choices they had made. Killian and Riana knew that they were lucky to have been given another chance, and that they would cherish every moment together from then on.
