Chapter 107 - The Betrayed Luna They Want
MICHELLE’s POV.
I keep pacing around the room after I drop the call. Just a few hours after I left, Nicholas dared to attack my husband. I am going to hold him by the hair and make sure to sniff the life out of him. How can he do such a cowardly thing? Was he that afraid of the lawsuits that he had to attack Enzo like that?
Thinking about it, I get more worried. I just want to see him and that’s the only way I can feel better.
“Keep him safe for me, moon goddess” I mutter under my breath as I continue pacing around the room.
“You know this won’t help you, right?” Aunt’s voice filters into my ear and I stop to look at her, “you are pregnant Michelle, three babies inside of you, you you shouldn’t be walking around like that”
“I am just worried aunt” I tell her as I swallow hard; “he sounded so weak on the phone and I won’t be able to rest if I don’t see my husband tonight”
“It will take about an hour to get here, are you going to keep pacing until he comes?”
“I don’t think you understand the gravity of this situation, aunt” I rake my fingers through my hair, “Enzo getting hurt is the same as me getting hurt and I won’t take any rest until he gets here. I don’t think you understand how much I love that man and I rather get hurt than see him hurt”
For a moment, aunt continues to look at me and I can see a small smile tugging at the edge of her lips which makes the frown on my face intensify. Why was she smiling when I was about to lose my mind?
“You really love him, don’t you?”
“With everything I have in me, aunt” I tell her, “I love him so much and I can't imagine my life without him aunt, I just…. My voice trails off, I wish he can just walk through that door right now.
“Don’t worry my dear, he will be here soon” aunt tells me
again and I let out another heavy sigh. I don’t need any words of affirmation right now, I just want to see my husband.
I don’t know for how long I have been pacing around the room until I heard the sound of a plane on the roof and I know for a fact that that is Enzo.
Grabbing my robe, I fling it over my body before rushing out of the room despite the warnings of my aunt.

As soon as the elevator door opens, I rush towards the roof and this is when I see Enzo taking slow steps towards me and my eyes immediately tear up as soon as I set my eyes on him.
“Enzo!!” I call out his name and I start to run towards him.
“Don’t run” I hear his voice in my head but I completely ignore his warning and continue to run to him.
Just as he takes another step towards me too, I see him collapse on the ground in front of me and my whole world comes to a standstill as I see the man I love fall to the ground unconscious.
This is when I also see Maria behind me but I don’t linger much on it as I hasten my run to him.
“Enzo!!!” I tap on his cheek lightly but he is unresponsive and I can feel my heart pounding fast against my rib cage.
“What happened to him, Maria?” I can’t help but ask her, “why has he gone unconscious?”
“I think we should call a doctor ma’am”
“No, it will be too late” I immediately refute, “tell the pilot to come help us take him back to the plane, I will take him to the hospital myself.
He must have been badly injured by Nicholas and I can’t help but feel guilty about it. It is all my fault, I shouldn’t have brought Nicholas into his life.
This is the man that has never shown me his weakness before and now he is lying unconscious in my arms, I genuinely do not know what to do.
Make haste, Maria” I half yell as tears well up in my eyes.

“Ma’am” someone calls out to me and I raise my head to meet Maria and she has a cup of coffee in hand,
“You have been up and about for a while now, you should take some coffee to help calm your nerve”
“I am not in the mood for coffee, Maria” I tell her as a slight yawn leaves my mouth. Enzo has been in the examination room for close to an hour now and I am getting really worried about him.
“You should at least take some rest ma, you look so tired” she tells me again and I nod in the negative.
“I want to see my husband when he comes out of the examination room” I tell her and she nods, “what happened though? Why were you with him?” My eyes are searching her face for an answer.
“I had gone to the house to drop off a document that he asked for and that’s when he came home looking very tired and weak. He told me to leave but I couldn't, not when you were not around and none of the guards could be seen anywhere so I decided to stay despite the boss telling me to leave. I decided to come with him on the plane since I didn’t want him to be alone”
I continue to stare at her for a while, “Thank you, so much maria” I finally tell her, “i really do appreciate your help”
“You are welcome ma’am” she responds, “I was only doing my job”
“Of course” I flash her a smile before she leaves but my gaze continues to linger on her.
After what seems like ages, the door opens and the doctor comes out.
“Mrs Philips, please come with me”
I enter the examination room with him and my heart breaks when I see Enzo, I hate seeing him like this.
“How is he, doctor?” I ask him, “is he going to be fine soon?”
“Actually ma’am” he starts to talk, “we couldn’t find anything that led to his fainting so we rounded it up to stress but that aside, we found a rupture in the vein near his heart. It seems to have been like that for a while now but seeing how swollen it is now, i think something must have triggered it”
I swallow hard at his words, that must be Adeline’s injury.
“What do you think we should do, doctor?” I ask him, “is there a way to combat it?”
“Usually I would have suggested surgery but it is in a tricky area so a few more tests need to be done. Mind you, this is the very first case I have come across and I am not sure how it would turn out”
I let out another sigh again, the hospital wouldn’t be able to help him treat his injury anyways.
“Will he wake up soon?” I question him again.
“Yes, he should be up soon”
“Thank you doctor, please have him moved to a private room”
“I will make arrangements for that”
As soon as he walks out, I perch on the space beside him and gently grab a hold of his hand.
“You must be suffering a lot babe” I say in a whisper, “I am sorry for the pain I have caused you, please get well soon for me”
I press a kiss on his lips gently before pulling away from him. Now I see why Enzo never showed me his weakness because he knows I will not be able to handle it. I am already on the verge of insanity seeing him on a hospital bed for the first time since I met him.
After a while, the man on the bed slowly opens his eyes and a tear trickles down my eye.
Gosh, I am so scared!
“Hey!!” Enzo’s weak voice reaches my ear and I gulp.
“How do you feel now?”i ask him.
“You shouldn’t have brought me to the hospital, babe” he force the words out of his mouth, “I would have been okay if i just slept at home”
“You fell unconscious, babe” I tell him, “and that was the only thing I could do at the moment, I was really scared”
A small smile appears on his lips, “come here”
Enzo slowly pulls me to himself and envelopes me in a hug,“I would have been okay if you had given me a hug, kitten”
I scoff despite the pain I am feeling, even in pain this man still knows how to make a joke.
“Stop joking around” I scold him gently, “you are sick”
“I am not sick babe” he buries his head in the crook of my neck, “I was just missing you and that’s all”
“Then get well soon, I hate seeing you like this”
“I will if you give me a kiss”
I smack him and he lets out a playful groan,
“I am sick and you can’t be nice to me?”
“Just keep shut and get well soon hubby,please”
“I will”
We both lay in that position for a while, his steady breathing reaches my ears and I finally let out a sigh of relief, thanks to the moon goddess that he is fine.
“Why aren’t you asking me anything though?” Enzo asks me after a while as he pulls closer to me.
“Nothing is as important as you, babe” I tell him, “we can talk about what happened if you get better”
“Are you comfortable with the fact that my assistant is in love with me?” He asks me again and I gulp. This question, do I even know the answer?
