Chapter 50: Conflicts

I stared at my broken shoes and soaking-wet dress. The stench of the alcohol was driving me up the wall as it grew deeper and deeper into my skin. The feeling of dirt and gross sensation were too much to be handled; I badly wanted to die right now. If only I could disappear for a moment and come back when the embarrassment was no longer remembered, I would surely do that and show up with no shame in my body. I need a handful of two slaps, one real talk, and a nice warm shower with some new clothes!."Is everything alright here?" Yereah asked again, being formal. Instead of asking me directly about my current situation, she asked the person around me and acted like they were injured. I guess she couldn't help it.

I heard familiar footsteps approaching us. A man who forced himself into the crowds showed up, looking so stressed. He untied his necktie and brushed off his hair with his hands, which made him look cool and hot. Really? Are you thinking about that in times like this?

"What the hell—Why are you sitting on this dirty floor? " he asked, looking like he was ready to eat anyone who caused me to look like this. Now I get it. The floor seemed to be slippery and dirty from every single footstep that was engraved on it. Mud, dirty water, and the spillage from the wine never really helped me.

I felt like everyone was staring at my bare body. My skin that had been exposed was too cold now, and I couldn't believe I'd had such an embarrassment in my life. Their sticky eyes were too much to handle. I can't even dive deep into their stares, and I don't think I have the nerve to get up from this floor.

Eloise was too worried, but she stood up from kneeling to offer me some help. Maybe because she was anxious that the man in front of us would blame her for this unfortunate event, and the trauma was scaring the shit out of her. Eloise took three steps backward and picked up my things. She was trembling. I could see it in her feet. I wanted to comfort her and put her at ease, but my ankle seemed broken, or I was just overreacting.

"Who the hell did this to you?" he shouted again, causing a huge problem for me and the people around us. They were looking at me like I was some freak, then turned their eyes to the waiter who messed things up. He was scared. I knew how his blood turned from braveness to fear and consumed him.

There is no sense in fighting for his will to explain things. He just wants to end things as fast as possible. "You did this?" Kairo said. Yes... Kairo came to my defense AGAIN! I expected to see Cassius running open arms to me as soon as he heard the gossip. I knew how sensitive his ears were. He can hear every rumor about me without even trying or sweating one drop.

He knew my situation well. How could he ignore me that openly? I am too furious about this. The man dropped to his knees and kneeled on the floor. He's got both his hands overlapping each other while pleading for himself. That is it? I thought he would just let everything go on smoothly and let Kairo kill him. It turns out he's fighting for what he thinks is right for what I think is right.

"You dare lay your filthy hands on her? Look what you have done! You crashed my party, and this is supposed to be the happiest day of my life," Kairo said, sounding like a child robbed of his candies. Wow... That was actually fascinating.. it blew a huge hole into my body, and I was moved.

I didn't know that he was so protective of his joy. He looked like a kid who hadn't even experienced the happiness of having a birthday party held specifically for him. What did I just miss? Maybe he was really like this. Maybe he was somewhat healing from a traumatic past, a childhood he was not given. How do I pity him?

"I am too tensed," The waiter explained himself, which made me think why. Curiosity filled my head; how could he be so tensed? I was the one who tripped over; it's not his fault. Although the part where he spilled a drink on me, it's truly on him. However, he acknowledged it.

"Tensed?! I don't need your trembling feet, walking around and causing a huge fuss. You are a waiter; aren't you ashamed of your clumsiness? You're supposed to be careful!" Kairo said, scolding the guy. He looked like he was about to cry. Kairo really went overboard this time. He crossed the boundary and made this guy cry. The formation of tears near his eyes was slowly getting bigger and bigger, and I was afraid I should stop this nonsense now. Just as before I could speak my mind, I was surprised... I saw a guy, a familiar guy. He was wearing a beautiful expensive coat with minimal jewelry. A clean cloth, something that screams masculinity. He was walking straight to my place, and it was dangling.

Why is he here? Did he come for my service? Did he somewhat care and decide to show up because I was hurt? Or maybe I was imagining it all up again. I spotted him easily amid the crowd. His hair flowing through the wind was so beautiful I simply could not ignore it. His hands, the beautiful long fingers that brushed through his head, simply make my eyes shine like a diamond reflecting a light. I can't believe an angel came down straight out of heaven...

He was a huge gift, the compensation for the embarrassment the world had caused me. I want to be with him this instant. Cassius. He was walking up to me. His expression was too scary. It was definitely not the type I would like to see. His eyes were darker than they were before. His sharp jaws that could cut a thousand hearts were clenching, and I could see how it moved. He's scary and looked like he would wolf out anytime now. He was careless with his words, fast walks, and stood up before us.

"Are you finished?" he calmly asked the waiter. I don't know why, but I sensed a great fear from this man. It was like he had found the most scary person to have ever existed; I wonder why he's too fearful right now. What might it be that caused him to be tense?

"N-no," he stuttered and held his hands up high, trying to stop Cassius from walking to me. "The first thing I saw was. Miss Raya tripped over my feet. It was my fault, and I could have been standing near the tables, far from the pathway—it was my carelessness!" he screamed as he explained. He's still kneeling on the floor but still has his eyes watery. Although I know how he's struggling to say his words, I don't know how to help him. It was clear to me. I can't help him.

"I saw her falling off the floor. I was about to grab her waist, but I knew I could get in trouble for touching her," he said, leaving me in a state of confusion. Get in trouble? For touching me? Seriously? Who the hell even made those things up? No one cares whether I get touched by someone or be hugged. No one would really give a damn. Will somebody get jealous? Am I being naive?

"After kneeling, almost kissing the ground, I knew I had to offer my help at least. I tried my best," he said, crying his eyes out. I watched him plead for his life. Kairo seemed to be a bit confused now.

Is he mad? Instead of hearing this guy's explanation, he looked at Cassius with those scary eyes. I can't believe I am watching them now. I can't with my own eyes! Kairo seemed to be fueling the fire. At the same time, Cassius created the huge flickering of those lights.

Kairo wanted to be the only one to save me. He would relentlessly get rid of his younger brother; how possessive could that be? I am not his. I watched the Luna stare at me like I stole something from her. She was mad. I am not even lying. She really is! I can't dive straight into her eyes. It was terrifying. The angel I complimented earlier was now gone. I thought she was soft. Is she turning to be my enemy now? I can't—she cannot be my enemy!

"I accidentally spilled some wine on her. I am deeply sorry. I didn't mean to do that, I was hoping to give her a hand and lift her up, but it turns out I couldn't, and I am apologizing sincerely—“ Just before the man could finish his words, I heard a punch echoing around the room. Kairo was found lying on the floor while Cassius, on the other hand, stood still while his coat flew through the air. He looked like he was unbothered by the noise; he must have created it.

People went bizarre and started running away for their lives. Some stay here in this place while some went going to the door. The guard won't allow them out. I stared at the two, throwing glares at each other. They were too scary, and I didn't want to get involved. I saw Yereah looking so shocked while Eloise immediately helped the waiter and lifted him up the floor. I looked at her and nodded as she said, "You have to come with me. Things could go wrong," Eloise was so worried while the Luna remained standing. I knew I had to get her out of this place. I nodded at Eloise.

"I'll make sure to follow you," I said, making her look up at me and tighten her grip on my wrist if things could go wrong. I knew I could somehow stop it. I stared at the Luna, who was glued to the floor. "I have to save her; at least have her come to a safe place with me," I said. Eloise nodded and assisted the guy away.

It looked like Cassius was summoning the air as I saw him getting enveloped by the wind. It circled around him. Kairo was still lying on the floor while he spat out some blood from his mouth. I immediately ran to the Luna and held her wrist tight, capturing her attention. "We have to go," I said. She seemed untouched. She never looked at me; instead, a smile crept from her mouth and onto her lips. "I knew this would happen," she said, leaving me confused. "Thank you. You made my wish come true," she said, looking at me.

Wish?! What is she talking about? I certainly did not know what was happening. "Wish? Is your wish to have these two fight each other? Did you spark the fire? You caused it?" I questioned her and held her hands tight to me. She's someone I did not expect to be a psycho. "No. You wouldn't understand. You wouldn't understand how bad it is to get cheated on by your own mate, to watch him savor every woman in front of you. To watch him kiss his servants like he doesn't love you," she said, throwing my hands in the air.

The situation was getting worse. Kairo stood up from the floor and eventually got tired of feeling like he was hopeless. He immediately ensured Cassius would get what he deserved and blew a punch that never moved him. What is happening? Distracted, Yereah slapped me. It echoed through the room, and it sounded like this bitch just dislocated my jaw. What about our plans? Did she betray me? How could she do that?

"You want to know what I did? Find out yourself," Yereah said and flew away from me. She's now standing in the crowd while people around her panic hard. She smirked at me and sat by the chair, enjoying the show. I looked behind me and realized I was in the middle of the fight. How can I stop it?
