Chapter 86 - The Beta's Fate

King Maxon, I found two warriors unconscious on the other side of the pond.

Take them to the hospital now!

Maxon raced to the hospital. He was furious that these incidents happened on his land, during his son’s birthday and to his pack members. Luckily, none of the guests got wind, nor did his son. His night was not ruined. He was happy Eli found his mate and she was a lovely girl. Unlike her rotten sister. King Bousse was extremely happy about the mateship also. It would make the alliance that much stronger.

Maxon rushed into the hospital just as the two warriors were being brought in.

“They are Andrew and Josh,” a nurse said when she saw them.

Dad, I need Stella at the hospital.

I think she’s still there. She was healing the others that were on patrol.

Maxon searched for Stella and found her and Kane walking the halls.

“Stella, I have two more warriors, please. I am sorry to ask, I know you are probably exhausted.”

“It is fine, My King. Lead the way.”

Kane grumbled and she shushed him.

They entered the room where they had both warriors. Stella went over to Josh first and worked on him. After five minutes, she went to Andrew.

Maxon linked Wes. Wes came rushing into the room. He looked like he had just woken up.

“Were you asleep?” Maxon asked.

“I was resting with the girls until they fell asleep. I must have nodded off too.”

“Well, you’ve had a rough night, I don’t blame you. These two are the girl's guards, right?”

“Yes, I was wondering what had happened to them.”

“They found them by the pond on the other side, close to where those two girls were taken. Once they wake up, we will find out.”

A half an hour later they both woke up. Josh was first. He moaned, and blinked opened his eyes. He looked around and saw his King and Commander staring at him. If he was a weaker warrior he would have peed himself. The scowls on both of their faces were very intimidating. He heard a groan in the room and looked and saw Andrew. The moment he did, the memories came back to him.

“My King, there are some men, humans on the land.”

“We know. They’ve been taken care of. Can you tell me what happened to you?

“Why were you not with Dawn when she was attacked?”

“She was attacked? Andrew and I saw her leave. She shifted and took off. We were trying to keep up with her with wolf speed in our human form, but then we saw three humans close to the edge of the forest and pond. We felt Dawn was fine, and we went to capture the humans. We saw two girls coming up on to the pond, one of the men stood up and turned. He saw us and sprayed something in our faces before we could attack. That’s the last thing I remember.”

“That’s what I remember too,” Andrew said weakly.

“They were on our land to kidnap some females. We found out they were able to get over the border by taking a special drink that their leader handed to them. You were sprayed with some concoction to knock our kind out. They took the two females you saw. Dawn caught them. She was shot with a poisonous dart. Farrah and I were able to get to Dawn and the two kidnapped girls in time. Two men were killed and one was captured. He’s spilled all the secrets he knew and will be dead soon. There are more girls that are kidnapped at a hotel just outside of town. We are putting a team together to rescue them. I’m sorry if I was harsh. You did the right thing by trying to capture the humans. Dawn should have been safe. It was just bad luck that human turned just as you were coming up on them,” Wes said.

“Still, I am sorry we failed, and that Dawn got hurt. I will understand if you take me off her guard,” Josh said, and Andrew also agreed with his friend and apologized.

“Neither of you are at fault. You are still the girls’ guards. You are to rest all day tomorrow. Our trip is on Monday.”

Wes left the room and went to check on the girls. He saw they were still sleeping. He linked Koda to meet him in Koda’s office.

“My Prince, are you ready?”

“Yes, who are we bringing?”

“We’re bringing the established Elites. Five of them. The twins, Jonas and Xavier. They are team leads. And we are also bringing Lyon, Matteo and Nara.”

“Excellent. Have the twins bring an SUV. I want at least one captured. The rest of us will go in wolf form.”

Koda nodded and they set off.

The thirty minutes by car took twenty by wolf. They sat on the edge of the forest and scoped out the Jupiter Inn. The wolves that were sent earlier were to surround the exterior and to make sure no other vehicles came into the Jupiter INN and none left.

They saw two warriors outside guarding room thirty. That meant one was inside. They needed to take out the two on the outside quietly so as not to alert the one inside.

“I am just going to walk up to them and tell them Clayton sent me with instructions for them. They should believe it,” Wes said.

“Wes, you’re a big mother f*cker. They might shoot first and ask questions later,” Koda said.

“It’s fine, dad.”

Koda stared at him and Wes smiled, “What, too soon? I could stick with Uncle Koda.”

“No, but not even my own sons call me dad. So it took me a minute for it to process.”

“Wait, what do they call you?”

“Father.”

“That’s so formal. You’re right, dad doesn’t sound right. I’ll stick with Uncle Koda.”

Koda shrugged. He didn’t care what Wes called him. He just knew that he wasn’t going to let anything happen to him, because he didn’t want to see his daughters cry.

“I’ll go and take them out. I’ll use your ploy.”

“You’re bigger than me!” Wes snapped.

“Only in height. I think muscle wise you might have me.”

“We are wasting time,” Wes said.

“I was trying to give time for the twins to catch up. Go ahead. Go take out those two humans.”

Wes dressed quickly in a pair of basketball shorts, a white tank and a backwards hat that one of the warriors handed to him. He went around the back of the motel and then came around the corner acting like he was on his phone. The two guards warily watched him.

He stopped about five feet away and talked to no one on his phone.

“Got it, I will let them know. Yes Clayton, I will take care of it and send you back the information. No, the others haven’t come back yet. I am giving them another half hour, then I’ll send the cargo we do have with the team that is here, and I’ll wait for the other three. Yes sir.”

He got off the phone and looked at the two guards.

“Have either of you heard from Dell?”

The guards' brows furrowed. One of them opened his mouth to answer.

“No, they were supposed to check in ten minutes ago. Who are you?”

Wes looked at the guards. They looked curious but were still on their guard.

“I’m the information man. You’re right. Dell hasn’t checked in. Clayton sent me to see how everything was going. I’ll give him another half hour before I send you guys with the girls we have here, and then I will go see what is taking Dell so long. If he does show up, I have the information about where you are to take the girls.”

He saw the guards relax. He stepped up to them like he was going to impart some information to them. His claws came out and tore out the throats of both men. They didn’t see the movement coming and died quietly. Blood gushed and sprayed all over Wes. The bodies dropped and hit the ground.

“What’s going on out there?” Wes heard coming from the room.

“Nothing I tripped,” he called out.

“Id*ot,” he heard the voice say.

“Hey, I need to piss,” he said.

He could hear the man inside grumbling.

“Don’t you b*tches move. I’ll shoot the first one of you that comes towards me when I open this door.”

Wes waited until he heard the locks tumbling, and then he kicked in the door. It splintered and the man behind it went flying. Women screamed and cried out. Wes rushed in and grabbed the man by the neck.

“Filthy human. You have no idea how much I want to rip your neck out. Look at you so helpless. Didn’t hold on to you dart gun hard enough. Thank you for that. I can’t wait to give it to my scientists. Now go to sleep.” Wes hit him and knocked him out.

He turned to the women that were all chained together and huddled on a bed in the corner. He didn’t know any of them. He inhaled and identified four wolves and a light witch and a hybrid. She smelled of feline and fae.

“Are you girls alright? Physically, I mean. Any injuries?”

They all shook their heads. No one spoke. Koda and the other warriors came in. Nara came close and looked at the women.

“Hello, I am Nara from the Royal Pack.”

All the girls gasped. Wes heard a car pull up and then two doors shut. Then he heard two growls. The twins rushed into the room. Jonas and Xavier weren’t identical. Xavier looked like his mother with blonde hair and blue eyes. Jonas had his father's brown hair but his mother’s blue eyes. Both were two inches over six feet and muscular as a wolf shifter was. They both exclaimed, mate!

Two of the she-wolves whispered mate back at them, and then they burst into tears. Wes was amazed to see the twins melt into puppies as they slowly approached them. Was that what he looked like when he was around his girls? The chains the girls had around their ankles were silver. But the twins didn’t seem to care. Their hands sizzled as they broke the chains off all the girls and then picked up their mates and left the room.

“Well, they’re going to be useless for a minute. Might as well let them have some time with their mates while we talk to these girls,” Koda said.

Wes nodded.

They found out that the four she-wolves came from the Dark Moon Pack. The light witch was from Whispering Willow Coven and the hybrid was from the Crimson River Pack. The packs were really close to the Kingdom. In fact, Dark Moon was to be the first pack Wes and his team were to visit on Monday. Crimson River was the third pack they were to visit. The coven wasn’t even on the list, but now it was going to be.

They took the girls and the prisoner back to the Royal Pack. They were looked over at the hospital and the prisoner was put into a cell in the dungeon.

“I talked to your brother. You are to rest for the rest of the night. You are to train with your team in the morning and then pick the ten that will be coming with you. I will take on the interrogation with Lillyn while you are gone, and I will try to find out as much information as I can by the time you get back so you can plan your missions with your team and train,” Koda said.

“Okay. Thank you Uncle Koda.”

“You’re welcome, Wes. Give my girls a hug for me.”

Wes went back to Dawn’s hospital room and climbed into bed between them again. They were so exhausted they didn’t even stir. Wes once again pondered the journey that was starting next week. He hoped with the rescue of the girls that other packs and coven would be willing to give their best to him. Because that’s all he wanted; the best of the best. The faster they achieve these rescue missions, the faster he can relax with his girls.
