Chapter 56 Second Option
Chapter 56 Second Option
RONAN'S POV
“I'm dead sure I saw you, first you were with that filthy whore of a maid and now you're chasing after Liora, you're not even trying to hide it…”
I typed away at my phone, biting my nails nervously as I waited for one of my teammates, Micheal, to reply to my message.
‘We can still go together and speak to Coach, they took me down with the excuse that I didn't show up for a match… if we can come together to complain about it I can get my position back.’ -Ronan
‘Sorry bro, I support Leonard on this one, there's nothing I can do to help, so sorry bro.’ -Micheal
I wondered what Leonard had on them, absolutely nobody has the guts to go against him, everyone is slowly accepting the fact that he replaced me without a valid reason. Talia snatched the phone from my hand.
“I'm talking to you, don't fucking ignore me!” She screeched, her eyes brimming with tears.
“Give me my fucking phone back,” I growled standing up to grab her arm. She shrieked and slapped me across her face, her acrylic nails making scratch marks on my cheeks. My blood boiled.
“Don't fucking touch me… you fuck me, fuck the maids and now you're trying to fuck Liora?”
“What the fuck is your problem? You knew it before you agreed to be with me, you knew you're never going to be the first option but you still choose to go along with it. Why are you stressing me out?”
Talia flinched backwards as if she couldn't believe I openly called her second option.
“Wh..what?” Her voice broke. My phone dinged with another reply from a second teammate.
‘Sorry man, nothing I can do here.’
I cursed loudly and walked out to meet my mom. Talia latched onto my arms again and I roughly pushed her back. I watched her crash violently into the desk in my room.
“Get the fuck off me!” I warned and turned to leave without sparing her a second glance. I walked to my mom's room and found her sitting on the bed, barely noticing my presence.
“Mom…” she didn't reply, she just stared outside, completely lost in thoughts.
“Mom…?” She snapped out of her trance and turned to look at me.
“Is everything okay?” I asked, sitting beside her on the bed. She nodded nervously and heaved a sigh. I could tell something wasn't right but I didn't push, I had something bothering me also.
“About the hockey cap…”
“I got rid of Mila like you suggested,” she cut in sharply. I was taken back. It was at that moment I realized that I hadn't seen Mila in a few days.
“When was that?” I asked, breathlessly.
“A day before Leonard showed his face around the pack.”
The original plan was to get rid of Mila and pin it on Leonard.
“You were right, I caught her trying to give out everything to Leonard, I saw her phone, they've been meeting secretly to discuss something, and I feel it's not even the matter of the exile, but his mother's death, Tabitha.”
I didn't know what exactly happened to Tabitha, she had died before I was born and I never bothered myself with trying to find out what happened.
“I lured him here expecting your dad to throw him out but your father had a conversation with him, they probably discussed something, I don't know what it was but it's more likely that he's thinking of cancelling out his exile or something… we can't let that happen.”
I swallowed hard. It was starting to look like a pattern. He took Liora, the captaincy and now if he happens to win my dad's heart, he's more likely to get reinstated and that would affect my chances of being the future Alpha.
“We have to find a way to get rid of him, I don't know how it'll happen but we'll think of a plan.” I said. I dropped the idea of discussing the hockey team Captain.
“You can try talking to Liora again, I kind of sent screenshots of Mila's chat with Leonard to Liora.. she'll think he's cheating on her or something… let's see if that bitch is going to change her mind about trying to get you to reject her.”
Ronan walked out of his mom's room, his mind working rapidly. Talia had left his room by the time he returned and he just laid on his bed, thinking.
The next morning he headed to school. I parked my car unceremoniously and I slammed the door harder than necessary and slung my bag over my shoulder, ignoring the twinge in my ribs. Students streamed toward the entrance, laughing and shoving like nothing had happened. I scanned the lot out of habit and spotted him immediately. Leonard was stepping out of his car alone, no Liora in sight. Just like Mom said. They did have an argument. He looked a little rough around the edges but he carried himself like he owned the damn place.
A nasty smile tugged at my split lip. Perfect.
“Trouble in paradise? You came to school without your girlfriend today.” I shot at him.
He stopped beside his open door, keys still in hand. Those sharp eyes locked onto mine, calm but cold. A flicker of annoyance crossed his face, but he didn’t rise to it right away. He just shut the car door with a quiet click.
“I hope you're not mad that I replaced you, the team needs a better replacement,” He said walking towards me to tap my shoulder mockingly. That instantly irked me.
My blood roared in my ears. The parking lot narrowed to just him and that smug look on his perfect face. All the frustrations of Talia and the captaincy I lost suddenly made me blind with rage.
I didn’t think twice before my fist flew straight at his face. His face flew to the side as he staggered back. He lunged at me and a fight ensured.
