Chapter 42
The sun was already up when Kathryn woke up from her slumber. The sky blue and white curtains were flapping through the open window and Kathryn couldn't help but smile at the sight before her. She could see the pastel-colored skies through the glass walls, and she could feel and smell the soft salty air breeze that constantly seeped through the windows.
She glanced at her side, feeling her heart becoming warm as she brought her hand to her husband's face and softly caressed his cheek. Kathryn didn't expect being married could give her this kind of emotion.
It was all thanks to this sleeping man beside her that Kathryn could experience everything she could ever imagine. Not to mention, the wonderful emotions radiating through her body whenever she was being held by her husband at night. Kathryn blushed at the thought. It was too early for her to think about such things.
Ten months after the proposal and a week after their graduation day, Zachary and Kathryn finally got married. Almost everyone from their batch was invited and the couple couldn't get happier that day. Kathryn remembered how extravagant their wedding was, but because she was marrying the famous rich badass Zachary Robertson, in the end she couldn't do anything and let her man do what he wanted.
It was their third day on their honeymoon today. The location was on an island in Maldives, somewhere Kathryn dreamed of going to ever since she was a kid. For Kathryn, it was indeed a dream come true.
"Babe…?"
Kathryn had already gone to the bathroom, did their laundry, finished preparing their breakfast, and was in the middle of folding their clothes on a table in the balcony when she heard Zachary's voice. Instead of a vacation, it looked like they were in their own house.
Kathryn turned around and found her husband sitting on the bed with lazy eyes squinting. Did Kathryn mention naked Zachary was the most handsome image in this world?
"Good morning," Kathryn got up and greeted her still sleepy husband.
"Please tell me you didn't do the chores again early in the morning," Zachary yawned, forcing himself to get up from his sleeping position. While Kathryn was a morning person, Zachary was clearly not.
Kathryn giggled as she kissed Zachary's lips which made both of them smile, "I can't help it, Zack. Sorry—Whoa!"
Zachary pulled Kathryn down the bed and hugged her close with eyes shut, "We just got married and you're pampering me this much already. I told you, let's just have breakfast at the inn."
"You don't want to eat my dishes?" Kathryn pouted under the covers.
Zachary opened his eyes and stared down at his lover, "Did I say that?"
Kathryn shook her head, still pouting.
Zachary chuckled, rubbing Kathryn's head affectionately as he kissed her forehead, "I just want you to relax, baby. It's our honeymoon, remember?"
"I know…" Kathryn sighed. "Fine. But I'll still do the cleaning. Okay?"
Zachary sighed deeper, "Okay, okay, you win."
Both smiled at that.
"Alright, time to eat breakfast," Kathryn clapped her hands. She seemed too lively these days Zachary enjoyed seeing this little wife of his smiling from ear to ear. For Zachary, even as time passes by, nothing could be as beautiful as Kathryn, not even the scenery outside.
When Kathryn was about to get up from the bed, Zachary grabbed her hand, "Before we eat breakfast…" Zachary's eyes suddenly changed as they stared playfully at Kathryn's. "Can I eat you first?"
Kathryn instantly blushed hard at that. "Zachary!"
Soft laughter filled the room as the newlywed couple embraced each other under the bright blue sky, the sunlight warm and fuzzy just like their feelings inside. It was probably later in the afternoon that day that the bright mood suddenly changed.
The newlywed couple was in a restaurant near the sea when a group of what looked like a mixed race of people approached them. One of them, the one that looked like somewhere from their place himself, spoke to Zachary specifically.
"Hey, you're from B City, right? I'm Charles, I'm from B City too. My friend is hosting a party on another island. My friend over here doesn't have a date yet. Do you wanna come and join her?" The stranger asked as he pointed to the girl behind him.
Kathryn stared at the people, then blinked a few times before looking over her husband. Gulping hard, she tried to speak before Zachary could open his mouth.
"U-umm, w-we're actually—” But poor Kathryn was cut off immediately by this B City boy named Charles.
"Oh, you too, cutie. You should come too," Charles said while checking Kathryn out from head to toe. Somehow, his expression was different when he spoke to Kathryn.
And this, unfortunately, was caught by no other than the mighty dragon husband of the said woman. Kathryn watched as her husband slowly lifted his head up and looked at Charles with glinting red eyes just like a real dragon's.
"Leave or die," Zachary's words were simple yet hard, confident, and devoid of any lie.
Kathryn panicked and was about to properly decline the stranger's offer to avoid any trouble but was cut off once again.
"Whoa, chill. We're just inviting you to our party. What's with the threat?" Charles confidently replied with a smile. Then he looked over to his friends behind and said in a clear voice yet in another language which Kathryn couldn't understand, "Help me convince them to join us, they look loaded and fun to play with. Especially the woman, she looks like she'll say yes to anything we'll say."
Then in all confidence, Charles looked down at Zachary and said in B City’s language, "So? Do you wanna join—"
Kathryn felt herself jump as the table was flipped over all of a sudden, the food and its other contents dropping to the floor. Kathryn's eyes widened as she watched Zachary stood up and grabbed Charles' shirt's collar.
