Chapter 159 Reorganizing the Gang
Chapter 159 Reorganizing the Gang
She walked to the edge of the platform, swung her knife to cut the nylon rope holding Eric, caught the unconscious Eric steadily, and laid him flat on the open ground nearby.
The heavy factory door was pushed open.
Sean, wearing a black trench coat, strode in with Akin and Flynn. The outer Syndicate strongholds had been completely wiped out by Everlight's people.
Sean looked at the bodies covering the floor, his gaze finally settling on Isabelle. She stood in the pool of blood, her back straight, but her fingers gripping the gun were slightly pale.
The intense fighting had drained the strength from this young body. Isabelle's face showed a bloodless pallor.
A deep pain flashed through Sean's eyes. He strode over, took off his trench coat and wrapped it around Isabelle, blocking out the strong smell of blood.
"It's over." Sean's voice was low and hoarse.
Hearing the familiar voice, Isabelle's tense nerves finally relaxed. She felt her vision darken and her body swayed slightly.
Sean reached out with his long arm and scooped her up horizontally.
"Eric..." Isabelle's voice was a bit weak.
"Akin will take him to the hospital." Sean carried her out, his steps steady and strong. "Sleep. I'm taking you home."
Leaning against Sean's broad, warm chest, breathing in that crisp cedar scent, Isabelle didn't resist.
She closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep in the back seat of the Maybach.
When she opened her eyes again, it was already the next afternoon.
In the master bedroom of the western suburbs villa, sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto the carpet.
Isabelle sat up. The bloodstains on her body had been cleaned, and she was now wearing soft silk pajamas.
The bedroom door was pushed open.
Sean walked in with a glass of warm water. Seeing her awake, his tense jawline finally softened.
"Drink some water." He handed her the glass.
Isabelle took it and drank a sip, her voice slightly hoarse. "What's the situation outside?"
"The remaining Syndicate forces in North America have been completely cleaned out." Sean sat on the edge of the bed, his tone steady. "With Beria dead, the European headquarters had no leader. My people took it down last night. Not a single core member escaped."
Isabelle paused, looking up at him.
The Syndicate headquarters had deep roots. For Sean to uproot it completely in one night meant Everlight's power was even more terrifying than she had imagined.
Sean didn't pause. He took out a dark gold badge from his pocket and placed it on the nightstand.
It was the symbol of Everlight's highest authority.
"All of Everlight's resources, connections, and financial chains are now in your hands." Sean looked at her, his deep black eyes showing no reluctance, only absolute submission. "You call the shots."
Isabelle looked at the badge and was silent for a moment. She didn't refuse, but picked up the badge cleanly and decisively.
"The remaining Syndicate forces and intelligence network still have value." Isabelle's tone returned to its usual cool rationality. "Integrate Everlight and Syndicate's resources, set up headquarters in Mexico, and reshuffle everything."
Sean chuckled softly, his eyes full of indulgence. "Alright. Have you thought of a name?"
"Eternal Night." Isabelle said.
From today on, Mexico's largest underground organization was born.
Underworld and Authorities—no one could shake her position anymore.
With business finished, the bedroom fell quiet.
Sean didn't get up to leave.
He sat on the edge of the bed, staring at Isabelle with intense focus. That gaze was too intense, carrying strong aggression and undisguised emotion.
Isabelle felt a bit uncomfortable under his stare and frowned slightly. "Something else?"
Sean suddenly knelt on one knee beside the bed.
Isabelle froze.
The man took out a black velvet box from his suit pocket. He opened it to reveal a perfectly cut pink diamond ring.
No fancy design, yet it showed extreme luxury and understated elegance.
"Isabelle." Sean's voice was low and husky, each word landing heavily on her heart. "The Syndicate is gone, the Morgan family is yours, Eternal Night is built. Now, I want to talk about my personal matters."
Isabelle looked at the ring, a rare flash of surprise in her cool eyes.
She had always thought Sean helped her because of mutual benefit, because of the value she showed.
She was used to measuring relationships with bargaining chips and had never thought about it in terms of feelings.
"You..." Isabelle's lips parted slightly, not knowing what to say.
"Surprised?" Sean held her hand, his palm warm. "You thought I, the head of Everlight, would support you without limits and even hand over my life and fortune to you for no reason?"
Isabelle looked at him. "I thought we were partners."
"I never wanted to be your ally." Sean's gaze was deep as the sea, direct and honest. "Isabelle, I've had designs on you from the start. From the River City racetrack to Washington, everything I did was to make you unable to leave me."
He tilted his head slightly, looking into her eyes. "I want to take care of you for life. Whether you're the high and mighty master of Eternal Night or the little girl who gets tired and needs sleep, I want to take on both."
"Marry me." Sean's tone was firm, carrying deep affection that wouldn't take no for an answer. "Let me stand by your side, properly and openly."
Isabelle looked at the intensity in Sean's eyes.
She was used to living on the edge, used to facing all assassinations and schemes alone.
But now, someone was offering her the whole world, just to get her to nod.
The hardest ice in her heart cracked silently.
Isabelle looked at the perfectly cut pink diamond.
She didn't show any flattery, just looked at Sean calmly.
"Want to marry me?" Isabelle's red lips parted slightly, her tone casual. "We'll see how you do."
Not refusing was the biggest concession.
Wild joy instantly burst forth in Sean's deep eyes.
He stood up and, ignoring her weak resistance, pulled her tightly into his arms, lowering his head to plant a restrained yet burning kiss on her forehead. "Alright, I'll show you."
The next morning, at the western suburbs villa.
Eight top Wall Street lawyers sat nervously on the living room sofa, carrying briefcases.
The coffee table was piled high with thick documents.
Sean sat beside Isabelle. Without even looking at the complicated terms, he flipped straight to the last page and signed his name with a flourish.
"Mr. Morgan, are you sure?" The lead lawyer wiped cold sweat from his forehead. "Once this notarization takes effect, all your Everlight shares, real estate, offshore trusts, and private account funds will be transferred unconditionally to Lady Isabelle. You will... have nothing."
"I can read." Sean tossed the pen on the table, his tone impatient.
The lawyers didn't dare say more and quickly stamped their approval.
Sean turned to look at Isabelle. His sharp features instantly softened. He pushed the thick stack of asset certificates in front of her, his voice low with a smile. "Miss Morgan, now I'm a penniless broke guy. I'll be living off you from now on. Remember to give me monthly allowance."
Isabelle flipped through the documents a couple times.
