"Excuse me Mr. Adams, do you mind if I speak to you for a while?" Mary asked as he sat at the breakfast table.
"Sure, where is Ina?" he asked not seeing the three months old on sight.
"She is in her crib sleeping." Mary replied.
"Great, please sit" he said and continued eating but he was also watching her.
"Mr. Adams I don't know if you will be okay if I take a few hours off."
"Mary, it's Adams, quite the Mr. are you going out for groceries?"
"Hmm, no sir, I actually have a friend who would like us to go out for dinner"
"A date?"
""Not exactly sir, it's nothing of such, just two friends hanging out."
"Hanging out with a man for dinner is a date"
"I do not see anything wrong with that even if it were a date."
"Sure there is nothing wrong, just put Ina to sleep and prepare a bottle for her before you leave, so if she wakes up hungry I can attend to her."
"I will do that, thank you sir."
Adams felt a pang of jealousy at the thought of Mary going out on a date. Not that he had any sort of feelings for her, at least that was what he told himself, he still loves Sophia dearly, but Mary was beautiful, interesting to be with, and she was good with taking care of his dear Ina, so it was okay for him to always want to have her around.
Mary had finally called Charles, the man she had met at the restaurant the other day when she had left Victoria's house.
He had been pressuring her to go out on a date with him, and she finally agreed.
"You look beautiful" Adams told her when she was set and about to leave the house. He offered to drive her to the restaurant where she was meeting Charles.
She had turned down his offer stating that she would be comfortable taking a cab. When he saw that he was keeping her and she was not going to change her mind, he let her be.
Mary arrived at the restaurant and found Charles by a table. She apologized for coming five minutes late and he said it was not a problem. He smiled at her while she drew her sit by herself and sat down.
A server came with water for her, then asked her what she would like to have as he handed them the menu.
Before she would decide what she wanted to eat, Charles ordered for them both.
"That's fine with you right?" he asked her casually. She kept calm and gave him a smile and a nod.
"What would you like for drinks?" the server asked
"I'll like ..."
"Red wine, we will have a bottle." Charles said before she got to say what she wanted.
She found it offensive for him to order a meal and drink for her when she didn't ask him to do that. She tried to be calm however and enjoy the night.
Charles spent the night talking about himself, and all he had, and what he had achieved, and how he was not yet married because all women were gold diggers.
Mary was bored, and uninterested in what he was saying, he was full of himself and didn't care to hear about her. She wondered if this was the sweet man she had met at the restaurant the other day, or if he was the one she had been speaking to over the phone.
"You've not touched your wine" he pointed out when he noticed she had filled her water glass trice but didn't even take a sip from her wine.
"You must have forgotten when I mentioned in one of our conversations that I don't take alcohol." she gave a fake smile, all she wanted to do was go home without being rude.
"I'm sorry but I do not respect that choice of yours, just a glass won't hurt."
"I will have to call it a night now, I need to head back home, thanks for dinner."
"I thought you would be going home with me tonight" he gave her a flirting smile
"Definately not on the first date, maybe the second" she knew there was no way she would be out with the man ever again, he was not her kind of man.
"I like you, I'll wait for you, we will have so much fun together."
"Yeah" she said disgusted and got up from her chair, he didn't even walk her out, he just let her go. This was definitely one of the worse choice she has ever made.
"How was your date?" Mary heard Adam ask her the moment she walked in the door.
"Gosh you scared me, why are you still up and why didn't you turn on the light since you are here?" she asked turning on the light.
"I stayed up to be sure you are safe and have not been kidnapped by your date, and I also wanted to hear about your date."
"Thank you, there is nothing to hear, I'll check up on Ina and go to bed." she said her heels in her hand and her purse in the other hand.
"The gist please" Adams said the next morning as he entered the kitchen and startled Mary.
"Stop sneaking in on me, and I said there is no gist."
"Was it that horrible?"
"No it was beautiful, mind your business"
"He doesn't know how to kiss?"
"Damn, you are so nosey"
"Can I kiss you so you'll feel better from the bad kiss you got last night?"
"Mr. Adams who would have thought you had this in you?"
"I am a man, and no man is quiet when he is around an attractive woman.
"Are you saying I am attractive?"
"I'll show you later." he said and left the kitchen. Mary thought about what Adams had said to her. "What did he mean when he said he would show me I was attractive?" "When would the later be?" she asked herself and felt a whole lot of mixed feelings.
Adams had never paid her any attention, so why now?
When he sat at the table to eat breakfast with Anna, she fed Ina and tried not to stare at him. Later at noon, Mary was by the machine doing laundry on Ina's clothes when Adams came from behind and held her waist.
"Mr. Adams, I don't think that is appropriate and besides, Anna is home." she protested.
"Anna went for a walk with Ina, and I thought this should be the perfect time to correct the bad kiss you got last night."
"I didn't get a bad kiss last night, he didn't kiss me, not that I wanted him to..."
"Shhhh" he interrupted her.
"Now I see the problem" he continued
"What problem?"
""You have been sad because you had a date without a kiss"
"I am not sad, and that is the most silliest thing I've heard."
"Hush, don't worry I will make it right"
"There is nothing to make..." she was still speaking when he crashed his lips on hers. She would have lost her balance if not for the washing machine that held her from behind.
He kissed her in a way she had not been kissed before or perhaps it had been a long time since she was kissed that she can't remember what a kiss felt like.
He held on to her as the kiss intensified and she melted into his arms, forgetting that she was not supposed to be kissing her boss" father.
She moaned in his mouth and for the first time in a very long time, her womanly senses were active and yearning for a man's touch.
Adams kissed her, and for the first time he was with another woman that was not Sophia.
He felt different, he wanted more, and this time he didn't feel like he needed to please her, afteral all this was not Sophia.
He felt the need for them to arrive at one destination: satisfaction. He pressed her into him, his organs felt young and alive. He wanted to take her right there on the machine or on the floor of this laundry room.
"Dad, we are back, Mary Ina needs her bottle." they heard Anna say and they broke the kiss.
While Mary collected herself and went to feed Ina, Adams stayed back and waited for his erection to go down.
With shaky hands Mary prepared the formula for Ina and Anna volunteered to feed her while Mary finished up with laundry.
Mary's mind was a mess as she thought about what happened in the laundry room.
The memories of the kiss brought excitement, while the intent of the kiss gave her a headache.
She didn't know what to do, what to think or what to say to him the next time they were alone. She avoided him for the rest of the day and during dinner she excused herself stating that since Ina didn't take a long nap in the afternoon, she would put her to bed early.
When she got back from Ina's room, she ate her dinner alone in the kitchen. When she finished washing the dishes after she was done eating Charles called her, she was skeptical about taking his call, but she did.
"Mary, I called to apologise for last night.
Thinking about it now, I realized that I was a jack, and how you kept your cool all through the night amazes me. Please accept my apologies and give me a second chance to another date to properly apologise and make it up to you"
"Give me some time to think about it and I'll let you know." she responded knowing her answer was probably going to be a no.
"At least say you forgive me" Charles responded.
"I forgive you Charles." she said and that instant Adams walked into the kitchen. He gave her a frown at the mention of the name of another man on her lips and she rolled her eyes and paid attention to the phone call.
They said their good nights and she ended the call.
"What now? Would you leave me and go back to him?" Adams asked coming close to her.
"Last one I remembered, I belong to none of you"
"But you want me and not him."
"Stop getting ideas in your head."
"No, I'm not getting any ideas, I know you want me, the way you kissed me back, and melted into my arms, and moaned at my touch, is enough proof that you want me." he whispered in her ears and she could feel a sensation in-between her legs.
"Stop doing this to me?" she said in a low tone, she didn't want Anna to hear them even if she was unsure of where she was.
"Do what?" he asked with an innocent face and took his hand into her sweat shirt. He touched her breast and smiled when he realized she was not wearing any bra.
He pinched her right nipple and she moaned with her eyes closed.
"Do you want me?" he whispered in her ear and then breathed around her neck.
"Adams please" Mary pleaded with the voice she could let out, it was almost a whisper.
"Please what?" he asked innocently moving his hand to the other breast and teasing the left nipple.
"Stop" she said in more like a moan than words.
"Are you sure you want me to stop?" he asked her and her breathing pitched. He lifted her right hand and led it to his pants, he placed her hand over his erected member.
She gave it a light squeeze and he moaned from her touch.
"We shouldn't be doing this Mr. Adams" Mary tried to be reasonable even with the way his hand was driving her crazy.
"But we can't help it, the attraction is so strong." he said and took his hand into her skirt and to her wetness.
