Alisha and the other women arrived at the spa. They had their skin treated.
Their nails done, their hairs and their makeup done.
It was ten minutes into dinner when the women were completely ready.
Candy had paid the bills for them.
When Alisha insisted to pay for her dress, Candy said it was always on her to pay for the ladies preparation for the grand dinner.
"Besides its Camelo's money" she had laughed showing them Mr. Camelo's card.
A Lamborghini was waiting for them as they stepped out. By the time they arrived at the island, the dinner had started.
"It's okay to be fashionably late" Candy encouraged them as they headed towards the ballroom where the dinner was taking place.
"Let's go meet our men" Amelia smiled cheerfully and cat walked in her silver dress.
The door was opened for them by a man of black suit and shades. As soon as they stepped in, the women's husbands came for them one after the other until only Alisha was left.
At this point, she wished Leonardo and her were not giving each other the silent treatment, she was lonely in this place and wanted to just be by his side to feel safe, even if they wouldn't say a word to each other.
She decided she was going to walk up to him the moment she saw him.
As she found a quiet spot that suited her, she was offered champagne, taking the glass with a smile; she sat down, trying to look confident.
Leonardo spotted Alisha at a corner, she looked breathtaking.
He wanted to walk up to her and show off that he was the husband to this beautiful woman in the room, but then he was mad at her and was not ready to apologize first.
She could pretend as if she didn't see him for all he cared, but there was no way he was making the first move towards peace.
"The only advice I will give you is, don't wait for her to apologize and make peace as soon as you can, else she will make you life a living hell, women have all the advantage over us" Mr. Camelo's advised replayed in his head.
He shook it off, Alisha could not make his life a living hell, she could never have all the advantage over him, in fact, she had no advantage over him, because he was Leonardo Legend, and he was not in love with her.
He was about to take his eyes off her when he saw a man whom he had to admit was cute approach Alisha.
He watched to see what he was going to do. The man said something to her, then sat opposite her.
They were having a conversation and Alisha seemed to be enjoying it because she smiled and even laughed a couple of times.
He was tempted to walk over to their table and introduce himself as her husband and shoo him away, but then he could not allow Alisha know that he was jealous, he needed her to know that he was still mad at her.
He tried to ignore, and when he was so tempted that he could not take it any longer, he went out to take some air.
"What does she think she is doing?" he asked himself kicking the grass at his feet in anger.
"She was supposed to come to him, apologize and they would have a good night together, but no, she was talking to another man that was just as cute as he was. What if the man had charms like him and could sweep her off her feet and take her to bed?" he was running nuts, he could not take it any longer.
Alisha was enjoying the conversation with a new friend she had just met. He was a baker and was the one who had baked the anniversary cake for the dinner, so he was invited to stay.
She found common grounds in baking with him and they talked about a few recipes. He even shared some secret recipes with her, she wrote them down in a small paper he had offered her, and she slid it in her purse.
He excused himself to use the restroom, and that was when Henry approached her. She did not like the guts of the man, but she did not want to make a scene, so she faked a smile and sat still to listen to the nonsense he had to say.
He apologized to her for his behavior and explained to her that it was only a test for the deal. He praised her for being a woman of dignity and was about to excuse himself when she saw Leonardo staring at her with anger all over his face.
"Was he thinking she was flirting with Henry?" she asked herself.
She then decided ahe was not going to apologize to him, but make him jealous.
"Henry, would you like to drink to our peace, and we could forget what happened?" she asked with a wild smile so Leonardo could see the smile even if he was miles away.
"Sure, I would love that, that is a relief to me, I thought you would hate me forever."
They clicked their glasses together and drank to peace, before Henry excused himself. Shortly after Henry left, the baker returned to the table.
Leonardo had come back in to have a word with his wife, when he saw her talking to Henry, he had a frown on his face, "what did she think she was doing?" she looked at him, and turned back her attention to Henry.
He was mad, "how could she ignore him that way? "was she tired of this marriage already?" "what if she asked for divorce? That would be a breach of contract, he was not going to allow her do that.
He was still deciding what he was going to do, when he saw her and Henry clicking their glasses, his anger grew. This was betrayal.
He was going to break Henry's neck, but Henry left Alisha before he could get to their table.
He paused and breathed a sigh of relief when the man from earlier that evening went back to meet Alisha again.
"What was she?" "A gold digger? "why was she flirting so much? Was she drunk? Had she had so much to drink already?"
It was time to dance and everyone had moved to the dance floor, he was glad and was certain this man would leave his wife alone, but he was surprised when they both went to the dance floor and he placed his hands around Alisha's waist.
He walked up to them, but before he could get to where she was to claim his wife, she left the man and walked out of the hall. She headed towards the stairs and he followed her.
Immediately she turned to a corner, he grabbed her and pressed her to the wall.
"What is wrong with you?" she looked at him with wide eyes.
"I should be asking you that? What were you doing flirting with Henry and that man?"
"Are you jealous?" she asked him with an evil smirk on her face
"Don't ask me that, you are my wife and you belong to me alone"
"I do not belong to you, I own myself, now let me go I need to use the rest room, beside the house is crowded and anyone can walk in on us" she looked around to be sure they were still alone.
"Well I hope they enjoy the show" he said and crashed his lips on her. His kiss was hot and greedy and hungry.
There was nothing warm or soft about the kiss. He kissed her to show that he owned her, that he was not willing to share her.
Alisha was confused, her pulse raced. Her eyes were wild open, as the kiss intensified she didn't know if she should kiss him back or push him away.
Her eyes were starting to close. Her knees were getting weak yet she had not decided what to do.
Leonardo leg to of her.
They looked into each other's eyes for a while, then he ran his hand through his hair and raced down the stairs.
Alisha ran into their room and shut the door. She stood in front of the mirror and looked at her lips that screamed, "I have just been kissed"
"Alisha, what is wrong with you?
Why did you let him kiss you? Why didn't you push him away?
Now he is going to think he had won and you have been fantasying kissing him, oh no I fucked up" she was saying to her image on the mirror.
She went to ease herself and reapplied some lip-gloss.
She waited until her breathing was normal before she went back to the ballroom.
Leonardo was at the spot where he went to take in air a while ago, he was almost yelling at himself. "Leonardo Legend, what the fuck is wrong with you?
Why did you kiss her? Why couldn't you resist her?
Where is your control? Now she was going to think you find her attractive and want to go to bed with her. What makes you different from the other men staring at her lustfully in the ballroom?
Leonardo you just complicated the whole contract marriage agreement.
How can you ever pretend this ever happened?"
He decided he was out for long and headed back inside.
It was a good thing he never wanted one woman twice, at least now he was never going to crave her again. He was never going to dream of her, or have an erection when he looked at her curves or watch her bite her lower lips.
He got back in just in time for Mr. Camelo to announce that he was now a part of their business.
They were going to be a major supplier of textiles to his brand. It was a dream come through for their businesses.
The good thing was, this was another channel of money for Leonardo's company, grandpa Alexandra must be so proud of him.
After the announcements, it was time for them to eat. He had to share a table with Alisha and his new business partners and their wives.
Leonardo pulled the chair out for Alisha to sit, she avoided eye contact with him, it was obvious to him that her smile was fake, she was uneasy around him now. What had he done?
He sat beside her and she jumped a little when his hands slightly touched her.
"I'm sorry" he whispered to her, he didn't know why he was apologizing but he didn't want the air between them to be tense.
The talk at the table was cheerful and Leonardo tried to contribute to distract himself, however Alisha remained calm and simply smiled as she picked at her food.
"Alisha, please eat" he said close to her ear. He felt a bit guilty. One minute he was mad at her, the next he was kissing her, and now she was acting as if he was a trespassing stranger.
"Don't tell me what to do" Alisha was tempted to say, but she simply smiled, a smile that told him to leave her alone.
She excused herself to use the rest room and Leonardo knew she was telling a lie because she had given him same excuse earlier.
Candy gave her the direction to a restroom close to the ballroom so she wouldn't have to go up the stairs to their temporal room.
After a few minutes of waiting for Alisha to return, Leonardo decided to go look for her, he excused himself from the table and went through the direction Candy had given Alisha.
What he saw as he took the last turn to the rest room left him in a well of emotions.
